Lt. Al Giardello Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 I was thinking about this yesterday at school, cus I was bored out of my mind. Gene Snitsky reminds me alot like Sid, a monster heel who is a poor worker. I think the WWE is trying to make Gene Snitsky like a Sid heel. Which is a good thing, because so far it is working.
Downhome Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 When he did that move off the top rope to Kane at the PPV I thought he really was going to be the next Sid.
Exslade ZX Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 ...Welcome to every RAW thread since the guy debuted. That's been said a few times though, and it can possibly be true. Who knows? But personally, even though they are building him a lot kind of, don't think they will do anything of note with him. aka, give him an actual main event feud. (Yea, I know he's in the SS match) So he'll probaly be a Sid-like heel, but I don't think he'll ever get as 'high profile' as Sid.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Snitsky is fast becoming the 'tool that we comically root for' with my 'wrestling' friends. You know, the whole 'so bad it's good' vibe? Sid was the same. Sid had that great laugh. Snitsky has the hilarious promo voice.
Slayer Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Sid may have been a pisspoor worker, but he was entertaining on so many other levels though So yes, Snitsky could reach that level First, he just needs to stab Batista with a pair of scissors...
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 But... Does Snitsky "have half the brain that you do..."
Guest LooneyTune Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Sid would get the largest pops by just standing on the apron (judging from his days as a Skyscraper with Dan Spivey). I don't think Snitsky is that over, but he KINDA reminds me of him with the crappy workrate.
snuffbox Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Snitsky the next Sid...very believable. Now they really do need to make that Survivor Series match into wargames so he can try to break Maven's neck.
Guest Holzhammer Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Snitsky the next Sid...very believable. Now they really do need to make that Survivor Series match into wargames so he can try to break Maven's neck. And shit his pants.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 It seems as though what Gene Snitsky lacks in mic ability (and let's face it - there's not a lot there), he makes up for in in-ring ability, because he's not just another generic OVW import, he actually has indie experience - he showed that in his first televised WWE match against Val Venis. If pushed well, his wrestling ability could get him to high places.

Guest Quik Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 You think Snitsky will kick out of the RKO when he isn't supposed to? I love this thread.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 From a business perspective, Orton could go all out on the RKO to Snitsky, because let's face it - could his face *get* any more fucked-up? But on a personal level, if I was Orton, I wouldn't want it to, you know, touch me.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I liked Sid (I should be shot probably), and Snitsky reminds a lot of Sid with that look. If he used the power bomb as his finisher, I would mark the fuck out. Later in his career, he needs to ask the crowd if they wanna see him the world title, give him a HELL YEAH!
Lil' Bitch Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 And the fact they're pushing Snitsky as the next big thing, it was obvious after the way they booked him to DESTROY Kane at Taboo. You may not like him and don't think he's the best choice, but I'll take him any day over Kenzo Sosucky and Heidenrapist.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 You may not like him and don't think he's the best choice, but I'll take him any day over Kenzo Sosucky and Heidenrapist. Anyday. I enjoy his work. He's a big guy with talent, a rarity in this company.
Guest LooneyTune Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 What talent? The guy cuts the worst promos ever, and his best match (out of 4) was "above bad".
Use Your Illusion Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I'd love Snitsky if he could wrestle.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I'd love Snitsky if he could wrestle. Give him 20 minutes, no strings attached. You'll see.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted November 7, 2004 Author Report Posted November 7, 2004 What talent? The guy cuts the worst promos ever, and his best match (out of 4) was "above bad". What's your defination of a "bad promo"... Gene Snitsky cuts simple promos, that gets him over with the crowd, far from bad in my opinion. The crowd so far is so totally getting into him and his character, you can even debate that Snitsky is the most over heel in RAW right now. When has Snitsky had the chance to showcase his talent? Againest Kane? The Kane match wasn't suppose to be a "match" but a brawl between guys who hate each other.
Guest LooneyTune Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I'd rather listen to Lita's promos than Snitskys, and that's like a crime in some countries. If we're conmparing him AS Sid, Sid had horrible mic skills and workrate. If Snitsky has good mic skills and workrate, he's not Sid. Sid got over by just powerbombing people and standing around.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted November 7, 2004 Author Report Posted November 7, 2004 Sid could cut a good promo that best showcased his character.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 What talent? The guy cuts the worst promos ever, and his best match (out of 4) was "above bad". I know his promos suck ass, I said that. And you're referring to his match with Venis? That wasn't above bad, it was decent, and Snitsky did all the work seeing as it was pretty much a squash.
The Czech Republic Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Also, the chin connection. Sid, Snitsky, the guys have more chin than a Chinese phonebook. IT'S NOT! MY! FAULT! ......BAAAAAAGH! That was priceless, come on
Guest Trivia247 Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Actually they divided the Sid Character and gave it to both Gene and Heidenreich so in reality there are Two Sid's one for each Brand
The Amazing Rando Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 It's Not His Fault He's The Master and Ruler of the World
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Actually they divided the Sid Character and gave it to both Gene and Heidenreich so in reality there are Two Sid's one for each Brand Heidenreich sucks both on the mic and in the ring, and will destroy anyone. Snitsky sucks on the mic but can go in the ring, and will destroy only those that he needs to. Heidenreich is more fitted to being a heartless, unstoppable machine.
