MillenniumMan831 Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 I'll say Alex "The Pug" Porteau.
natey2k4 Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 Nah seriously, before his "big push" in WWE Chris Benoit was pretty uncharismatic. I knew someone would say this. Very frustrating. If Benoit had no charisma, his matches wouldn't have had any heat prior to his big WWE push because he would have been a lousy role player. Benoit has more charisma than most in wrestling. It just manifests itself in a way that doesn't involve talking. Your right.. I thought we were talking more about being out there.. talking kind of person.. Benoit is definately charismatic in the ring.. and don't get me wrong, cuz Benoit has been in my top three since 94 (Alex Wright and Brian Pillman were my other two favourites).
deancoles Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 Bobby Eaton Barbarian Steve Mcmichael Van Hammer Scott Norton(would have been ok had his team with Bagwell not been dropped) Jerry Flynn Brian Adams(although for the savage feud he was good) Horace Hogan Prince Iaukea
Twisted Intestine Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I'll go with LooneyToon and say Lance Storm. Although a decent wrestler, I could never get into anything he did.
Guest bigm350 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Matt Morgan is another uncharasmatic hoss.
The Niggardly King Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I can't believe a few people are listing Steve "Mongo" McMichael, he proved he was very charismatic with his excellent color commentary in WCW.
MillenniumMan831 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I can't believe a few people are listing Steve "Mongo" McMichael, he proved he was very charismatic with his excellent color commentary in WCW. "You can't shave a green horse with white paint my friends." Ok he didn't really say this, but if I said he did, no one would argue.
Coffin Surfer Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Bobby Eaton Is this a joke? He was a great stooge, who's put together some of the hottest U.S. matches of all time, even before Cornette.
Guest BDC Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I'm going to go with people that got big pushes and had no charisma: Billy Gunn and Sean Waltman. Really incredibly bland and relied on other people they teamed with for their charisma. However, Lance Storm in ECW was fantastic. I remember watching Guilty as Charged '98 (I think) when he cut a promo mocking, I believe, Tajiri and Super Crazy for injuries he gave them right before an impromptu match with RVD.
deancoles Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Bobby Eaton Is this a joke? He was a great stooge, who's put together some of the hottest U.S. matches of all time, even before Cornette. He was great in the ring but his interviews were bad.
Si82 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 My first thought was Steve Blackman so I decieded to think of another... A-Train Seriously. He's fat and hairy. That's it.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Some of these guys being mentioned have actually smiled. Rodney Mack has done nothing.
Guest news_gimmick Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I am throwing my vote for David Sammartino. I never saw anything but "generic wrestler" whenever I saw him wrestle.
Guest bigm350 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Guess you don't see OVW. No, I don't. But when he was on SD he was another Tomko.
Guest JerichosHi-Lite Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Bull Buchanan. *walks out of thread*
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Robert Gibson. Take away Ricky Morton, and watching Gibson is like watching paint dry.
Coffin Surfer Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 He was great in the ring but his interviews were bad. Yeah but this isn't about interview skills It's hard to say Eaton didn't have charisma when he had the crowd's eating out of his hand for over five years.
The Czech Republic Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Robert Gibson. Take away Ricky Morton, and watching Gibson is like watching paint dry. But Robert Gibson stayed and watched.
Guest LooneyTune Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Matt Morgan is another uncharasmatic hoss. He's the most over person in OVW and I'm sure Cornette has wet dreams about him.
Guest DVD Spree Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Haku, pre- and post-THEMONSTERMENG~! days. In fact, even as THEMONSTERMENG~!, did he ever actually show any charisma, or was that just us imposing charisma on him?
Guest LooneyTune Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 The only memorable thing Haku's ever said was something along the lines of you must die for me to live. His wrestling charisma is being a samoan who screamed a lot.
Guest Prof_Plague Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 If you give the a wrestler the right sort of gimmick, anything is possible. ...Kama as Godfather...Rotundo as I.R.S... But...least charismatic... Paul London. Please, don't give him the mic.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Disco Inferno. The guy has anti-charisma.
