Myxamatosis 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 There were signs of a talent raid yesterday down in Orlando. WWE was taping their Royal Rumble commercial yesterday at Universal Studios, and Vince McMahon and "Big" from Tough Enough weren't happy at who showed up. NWA Total Nonstop Action's Jeremy Borash, David Sahadi - who resigned from WWE earlier this year - and some other employees were there, offering some cookies to the WWE folks as a nice gesture, and were seen talking with WWE superstars, including Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho! Also causing suspicion, Val Venis and Rhyno were seen hanging out at a bar Tuesday night with Team Canada, wrestlers they broke into the business with years ago. More on this as it develops... [Credit: Mike Johnson and PWInsider.com] As previously reported, there was a confrontation at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, yesterday, as WWE was taping a commercial for the Royal Rumble in the same city TNA tapes it's iMPACT!, Xplosion and Pay Per View events. According to WrestlingObserver.com's Dave Meltzer, David Sahadi, who used to work for WWE in production and is responsible for the great improvement in TNA video packages, had Traci Brooks bring cookies and Abyss balloons to the WWE crew as a welcome present. WWE "went ballistic," filing a complaint with Universal and threatening to sue TNA if they air any of the footage. There has been talk in the TNA camp about sending out a tongue-in-cheek press release today about the issue. The commercial will feature the RAW and SD groups dressed up like feuding gangs in "West Side Story" like production. In further news, Randy Savage is still negotiating with TNA, and may in fact return. Just the image of Abyss....lol.
Guest Phenom Report post Posted November 12, 2004 This begs the question: Who would win, Rhyno or Petey Williams?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Way to overreact there Vince. Maybe he was assaulted by Shark Boy and D-Ray 3000. And why would anyone care if Val and Rhyno are talking to guys who are obviously old friends of their's?
Vyce 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 This begs the question: Who would win, Rhyno or Petey Williams? Depends on who's booking it. If TNA booked it, the match would probably be pretty good but Williams would win it after Damore and virtually all of the rest of Team Canada interfered. If WWE booked it, Rhyno would squash Williams in two minutes flat, since Petey is a cruiser and Rhyno, well, is not.
Guest Mr. Wrestling Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Seems to me like TNA tried to be nice and welcome WWE to Universal Studios but Vince is too paranoid to accept goodwill. Could you imagine how it would had been had Jeff Jarrett had showed up with the NWA World Title and talked to Ric Flair about being NWA Champ? Furthermore, has Ric even commented on the current NWA Title?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Vince probably went to his room and cried for hours after he saw Abyss and knew he couldn't have that Hoss on his shows.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Vince threatens to sue? HAHAHAHAHAH. Let him, he's got no legal leg to stand on. That's like WCW suing over that DX Invasion stunt. TNA, if they got it on tape, should air that footage just as a fuck you to McMahon. That would be glorious. And what the fuck is Vince doing using Universal Studios to tape a commercial anyway? Still illegal I'm almost certain that you have to sign a contract with said company before they can release footage of you. Like when you buy a ticket to a sporting event, they tell you that they have all rights to use footage taken of you. Unless Jerry Jarrett drugged Vince and got him to sign a release form, I doubt that they could legally use the likeness. Plus what good would it be to see Evolution on IMPACT! talking to Jeremy Borash and Abyss?

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Vince has done enough "fuck youing" to every company ever. It would be sweet to see a little rinky-dink promotion do it to him.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Vince has done enough "fuck youing" to every company ever. It would be sweet to see a little rinky-dink promotion do it to him. They can't. As bad as WWE is --- it's still several steps better than TNA. -=Mike

(as in literally homosexual) I hope they go all out for it, just to look totally fucked up. I can just picture it in my head right now. HHH leading RAW, with all of the RAW guys behind him in a triangle formation, and JBL leading SD the same way. All the while, everyone dancing around. Didn't see this posted anywhere, but here: http://nwatna.com/news/2004/11/12/news2.html I smirked. The following is so great, it's almost sig-worthy great! Even the monster Abyss, in a rare melancholy moment, was seen with a tear in his eye, still clutching the very same balloons that no one from WWE wanted. Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 And why would anyone care if Val and Rhyno are talking to guys who are obviously old friends of their's? WHO: Bob Ryder. WHY: To create the impression that TNA could lure WWE wrestlers away with the caviar dreams of headlining a pay-per-view against the cast of I, Max.

DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 TNA is not affiliated with or endorsed by Universal Studios, WWE, or Hulk Hogan That Hulk Hogan! Always inserting himself into press releases.... “Personally, I just wanted some mahi mahi,” confessed BG James, upon seeing the elaborate WWE catering spread. “The only thing I had to eat all day was a stinking cold sandwich from my cheap free-lance producer. Now I know how the other half eats.”
Guest Coffey Report post Posted November 13, 2004 If Traci, etc. approached me, cookies or not, the last thing I'd think of is ill-will. It just seemed respectful. I'd have been flattered. WWE are a bunch of clowns.

Now I know how the other half eats.” I know it's a joke but DUDE. You were the other half for like five years. Even the immortal Hulk Hogan was backstage and also witnessed the electricity of that historic night. Well now we know why Savage quit. He got paranoid that he'd be working in Hogan's backyard. TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2004 WWE SENDS LEGAL WARNING TO TNA Nashville, TN (November 16, 2004) – World Wrestling Entertainment issued a letter to TNA Entertainment, LLC on November 11th demanding the surrender of video footage shot at Universal Studios on November 10th. In the document sent by Bella Karakis, Vice President Intellectual Property, WWE informed TNA that in order to avoid any further legal action by WWE, TNA would need to agree not to use the video footage , surrender the video footage to WWE within 7 business days, and sign and return an acknowledgment form. On November 10, while filming vignettes for TNA’s upcoming pay-per-view, “Turning Point”, TNA Superstars 3 Live Kru, Traci, Abyss and “The Franchise” Shane Douglas attempted to welcome Vince McMahon and WWE talent who were also at Universal Studios taping a commercial. Universal Studios is TNA’s home studio where iMPACT! and Xplosion are taped every week. The TNA Superstars brought cookies and balloons to greet WWE talent and staff who were taking a catering break outside in the common area of the studios. TNA and the TNA Superstars involved are very disappointed with threats of legal action. “Competition is great and makes the wrestling category stronger as a whole but obviously we are the only ones who feel that way,” “The Franchise” Shane Douglas said. “We attempted to extend a hand and were disappointed by the treatment we received in our own backyard.” TNAwrestling.com ------------- I'm laughing, anyone else?
