Guest The Shadow Behind You Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 i swear they air Sandlot every sunday afternoon. If football wasn't on, I'd watch it every time.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 Someone should do Field of Dreams 2. If you build it again, they will come again..
Downhome Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 Here we go. http://www.moviehole.net/ news/3822.html Cole Evan Weiss, 14, has been cast in the lead role as Saul for The Sandlot 2: Son of the Beast. Weisss credits include TVs Playing for Keeps and Boy Meets World, and the feature films Halloween Tricks and Walking across Egypt opposite Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Set Ten years after the first film, in the 1970s, the sequel has Saul (Weiss) and friends agreeing to let three females join their baseball team. When one of the girls fathers model space-ship falls on the other side of the fence a scary neighbour lives over there, of course they have to devise different ways of getting it back. The film begins pre-production this weekend in Vancouver and is being directed by David Mickey Evans. Evans told Moviehole last week that Sandlot 2 could be the first of five new Sandlot movies.
Guest Ram Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 It'd be funny if each new Sandlot movie was just the same idea rehashed. They're 1/5 of the way there already.
Lightning Flik Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 First of FIVE? That all have the same storyline? ...baka...
Cuban Linx Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 The five movies will probably just have a different item lost over the fence each time. The movie industry already has rehashing ideas down to a science, but making FIVE sequels to a movie, all of which would be basically the same would be reaching new highs of uncreativity.
sfaJack Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 They can't be any worse than the Home Alone sequels.
CBright7831 Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 I loved The Sandlot and I'm completely against this sequel. Seriously, what else can they do with the story? Run it into the ground. They can't be any worse than the Home Alone sequels. I liked Home Alone 2 better than the first.
Guest LooneyTune Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 How the hell do you make a sequel to this movie?! If it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the original, it's not a fucking sequel. It would be like calling Deep Blue Sea "Jaws V: We Just Can't Quit" because it has a killer shark. (bangs head into wall)
The Czech Republic Posted November 15, 2004 Report Posted November 15, 2004 The five movies will probably just have a different item lost over the fence each time. For the overseas markets, "El prado!" ¡Oh, no! La bola del fútbol pasó la pared. Ahora nosotros juego de can't hoy. ¡Tengo una idea! Conseguiré la bola que mi papá posee. Autorización. ¡No del Oh! ¡Ahora hemos perdido esa bola del fútbol también! No cuido. Era una mala bola. Alguien escribió en la bola. ¿Quién escribió en la bola? Algún individuo nombró a Pele. ¿PELE? ¡Tenemos que recuperar esa bola!
EdwardKnoxII Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 I saw the ad for the Sandlot 2 and in the ad I saw somethings that they are repeating from the first one. Fat kid does a dive into the pool making a big splash water on everyone, someone saying the "You play like a girl" comment, and them trying to get something from the dog. And here's a website that has pics from the movie http://www.moviehole.net/news/4939.html
Downhome Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 Amazingly, this is getting good/decent reviews from DVD sites: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=15476 http://www.dvdtown.com/review/sandlot2the/15498/2846/ http://www.digitallyobsessed.com/treereview.php3?ID=7285 It's not a classic, but it's ok for what it is. This is shocking to me, since I expected it to get very low ratings/reviews. The score on IMDB is low, but few people have voted, and most of those who have either haven't seen it yet, or just scored it low because they are pissed it was even made in the first place.
Jingus Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 I don't get all the virulent hate here. Yeah, it's probably gonna be a crass grab for money based off the appeal for the original, but so what? 3 reasons you guys really shouldn't be so mad: 1. It's being written and directed by the same guy who did the original movie. He invented it, he can do whatever the hell he wants with it, and I'd much rather have him doing a sequel to it than anyone else. Plus, thank god James Earl Jones is still alive so he could star in it. 2. It's fucking Hollywood. Why should you be surprised or offended by anything they do by now? 3. Even if this turns out to be the gheyest sequel since Aliens vs. Predator, it still doesn't change the fact that the first Sandlot was a damn good movie.
slimm44 Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 Haha i saw this at target and was like, why would anyone make a sequel?
cabbageboy Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 The Sandlot is a nice little film but having a direct to video sequel to it isn't anything to be up in arms about. Just ignore it.
Jericholic82 Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 dude, its direct to video. maybe 5 people will see it. though the disney chaneel will eat it up and show it 500 times aweek in about a year or so. "you're killing me smalls" is agreat ctachphrase, used by many of my schoolfriends thru the years actually (proabbly cuz the teachers would always show it , EVEN IN HIGH SCHOOL)
Jericholic82 Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 and dont forget in the first movie, we found out that the fat kid went on to be a pro wrestler named "The Great Hambino"
EdwardKnoxII Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Haha i saw this at target and was like, why would anyone make a sequel? Don't forget that it's been said that this sequel will be the first of FIVE Sandlot sequels. If that doesn't say out of ideas I don't know what is.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 I just want to know if Thurman Merman kicks one of the players in the crotch.
