God I love GG Allin.

Amazing interview.

That man was a genius. I mean, say what you will about him, but people who call him an idiot clearly never paid attention to what he said when he was sober.

I mean, you already know that he is my personal hero, but I really feel like I don't do enough to promote him to people. Then I tell myself "Dude, you got a tattoo of his face, that's pretty fucking serious." And I say "Yeah, you're right, me, it is."

It kind of sucks how down to earth he was, though. I could have legitimately hung out with him if we were alive at the same time and I wasn't ten years old.

All the more reason for him to win the title. It just makes me laugh.

We can also hold sweepstakes on how long it will be untill he messes up again.

I tried that one but when I select certain tabs it tells me:

Whats up fellow bass player? You're probably looking for the bass tablature of band name- song title. We regret to inform you that this file, along with many other band name tabs have been removed due to legal pressure from the MPA. Good luck figuring this song out, we know you can do it!

We are providing an education service to the benifit of musicians everywhere, including the artists we feature on this site, but we lack the legal knowledge and resources to fight this in courts.

In the mean time, if you want help learning the bass line of song title, check out the band name sheet music selection at some website

No it wasn't. It just wasn't as awful as every other nu-metal act of the time. Coal Chamber has stood the test of time better than almost every other band of the same style and era, though.

And the whole tablature legality deal is bull. There's no reason for it to not be legal, considering people get them to learn how to play songs, and thus how to better themselves as musicians. Sense it nto makes for Yoda-like speak on Net-Inter.

I dunno dude, i listened to it again today and it's still pretty good. If you get past the shit lyrics, theres some really good songs on there (Bradley, Big Truck and Sway come to mind).

As for the tabs legality, it is pure bullshit. I can't see why it's illegal other than music companies wanting you to buy the tab books from stores. Only I've yet to see a tab book for Ol' Dirty Bastard's Nigga Please.

I've never seen a Gwar tab book (I'd be willing to wager that Dave Brockie would actually prefer you look it up online), a Municipal Waste tab book (they'd be too drunk/stoned to give a fuck if you gave them money or not, as long as you're partying at THEIR show), or even a Cannibal Corpse tab book (which is odd since they've been around for nearly 20 years). The 'net is the only place to find tabs to bands that not everybody already knows the songs by.

EDIT:

Just look on http://www.911tabs.com, dude. They compile lists of tabs by people from various free tabbing sites, and even have a few of 'em rated.

Coal Chamber fucking suck. When I (24) was recently going out with this 18 year old chick, and she was talking about Coal Chamber, I said exactly that ("... fucking suck") and she said "Yeah, people your age tend to think that, but people my age like them." That should say it all.

I hate it when openers play longer than the headliners. It seems to happen at about 40% of concerts by local bands I go to for some reason. On Friday, I had to tolerate this excrutiating band from New Jersey called deSol (a bunch of white hippies who thought they were Santana) for 80 minutes. And then the headliner (a reunited local band playing their first show in five years) comes on and plays for an hour and the sound is terrible for the first forty minutes of their set (but it was just fine for those damn hippie openers)

I feel bad for you. deSol is from my neck of the woods and they seem to be everywhere.

The new Common is a motherfucking straight-edge drop from Be.

I heard some of it two days ago. It's like he took every conscious hip hop stereotype and went with it. He just isn't trying anymore.

And the album cover.

what the fuck man?

I read a review recently that said former Frank Zappa drummer appears on the newest Korn album. That's a sad state of affairs.

It's Terry Bozzio. He was in Missing Persons. I'm sure he doesn't view Korn as a huge step down. I mean Steve Vai played with Zappa, and he joined Whitesnake. Just because you happened to at one time be a sideman for a critically acclaimed artist doesn't mean you have a free pass to ride that wave for the rest of your life. You have to pay the bills somehow.

So Finding Forever is to Common what Feedback is to Jurassic 5?

Also, that cover could be worse; it could be the cover of Food & Liquor.

Didn't Steve Vai also play for David Lee Roth? That's way worse than Whitesnake. Actually IIRC, David Lee Roth's solo backing band was filled with virtuosos. I cause Diamond Dave had a lot of cash to spare for his backing band.

What do people think of Deacon Blue, I know it might not be most peoples type of music, but a very underrated band in my opinion.

And what the fuck is up with the beats. This was supposed to be a J-dilla-eque album, and aside from the lead single, it's all straight up soft Kanye beats (well, Premiere does scratch on "Game"). I'm disappointed, and indifferent to most of the album.

I just dislike it at this point. I can't bring myself to hate it, or at least not yet.

Don't bring FF into this shit. Fear Factory were fucking great before Digimortal. Soul of a New Machine is a classic album, and Demanufacture is the archetype for all industrial/cyber metal following it (I actually like the term "cyber metal" for it rather than "industrial metal," seeing as how it's not that dance-able, outside of the techno remixes, but still has a machine-like feel to it). Obsolete is pretty tight, and even Archetype is really good. Digimortal, though, sucks a donkey cock. I don't even remember what their last album was called...so yeah...
