Lord of The Curry Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 New Interpol on July 10th. Cool.
Guest Richard McBeef Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Let's talk Son Volt. I liked Trace quite a bit, but the songs weren't as individually memorable as the ones on Uncle Tupelo's Anodyne and Wilco's Being There. Good sound, though.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 I haven't listened to Son Volt since early in my Wilco fandom, which was about ten years ago. I didn't much care for SV then; I should check them out again.
vivalaultra Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Trace was really good. Their new album is pretty good. I haven't heard much in between. I caught about 15 minutes of them at Austin City Limits last year and they were good-sounding. They outdrew the New Pornographers. Austin loves alt. country.
snuffbox Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Lollapalooza will be my first time actually seeing Son Volt.
Guest Richard McBeef Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 I think this is the sort of thing that might be better car listening than desk listening. I'm gonna earmark this for when I drive down to Bloomington this summer; this feels like it'll really work downstate, which is where I think they're all from, anyway.
King Kamala Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Aw man! White Stripes are coming to Portland on July 22nd! I'm there! Especially since it's a rare thing when somebody good comes to Maine.
Guest Smues Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Bobby Boris Pickett died today at age 69. The Forest Slash sucked, but the Monster Mash was and still is awesome. RIP Bobby.
King Kamala Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Aw man, one of my favorite old school novelty songs! RIP Bobby Boris

snuffbox Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Bawlmer, hon. I should add the location a few more times but instead will correct the original sentence. Â I'm going to Lollapalooza.
Guest Richard McBeef Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Let's meet up when !!! is playing and have arguments that just consist of ad hominem shots unrelated to the actual topic.
vivalaultra Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 So, lately I've been thinking about downloading some Squirrel Nut Zippers...
snuffbox Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 ATT Blue Room is streaming Coachella stuff all weekend again. Â http://attblueroom.com/inc_event_mediaplay...er.php?id=#vtop
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 1 of you should get me a Pearl Jam shirt.
Mik Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 I just made a playlist for a friend and I figured it would serve well (for the most part) as Mik's Picks: Volume 1  1. Ok Go - Lately It's So Quiet 2. The Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #2 (Laika) 3. Fall Out Boy - The (After) Life of the Party 4. The Format - Oceans 5. Say Anything - Spidersong 6. Muse - Starlight 7. Mew - She Came Home For Christmas 8. Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby 9. Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent 10. The Hold Steady - First Night 11. The Killers - Smile Like You Mean It 12. Ryan Adams - Let It Ride 13. Hellogoodbye - Shimmy Shimmy Quarterturn 14. The Strokes - Last Nite 15. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Turn Into 16. Bloc Party - This Modern Love 17. Regina Spektor - Summer in the City  That sound you hear is Czech breaking the speed of sound to burn this puppy for his personal collection.
Lord of The Curry Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 Anderson Cooper was doing a story on snitchin' tonight and at the end the final shot showcased a pulsing beat and a blue and red graffiti-style graphic with none other then Killa Cam. Â AC has no clue that by showing Cam on CNN he's given him so, so much more to talk about.
Darthtiki Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 So I went to this free concert at my school tonight and the opening act was Consequence which ended up becoming a surprise performance by Kanye West. Also, Shiny Toy Guns headlined which wasn't too bad.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 Drum Battle: Buddy Rich vs. Animal Â
Guest Richard McBeef Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 Awesome find. This inspired me to find "Channel One Suite," which I haven't listened to post-crash.
cbacon Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 New Interpol single is really good. Â This album better leak soon.
Guest Richard McBeef Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Oh sweet. The Buddy tapes. Mik Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 What are people's opinions here on Clap Your Hands Say Yeah? Â I can't get a read on if this is a band I'd get made fun of for liking here or if other people do to. Usually I know these things right away but I'm in the middle on this one. Â I really enjoy Details of the War, The Skin of my Yellow Country Teeth, and Upon the Tidal Wave of Young Blood
Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 I never made it past the first four songs on their debut, thanks to the one of the most annoying fuckwits to sing for a rock band, regardless of subgenre.
snuffbox Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 I enjoyed their set at Bonnaroo last year for the most part. I was a bit distracted by the highest temperatures of the weekend, though.
Henry Spencer Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 I saw them live for five dollars, passed out on a bench about three songs into the set, and woke up covered in vomit (I assume it was my own, but I can't be sure of that). Â These were my Nikki Sixx days.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 I like a handful of songs, especially "Let the Cool Goddess Rust Away," "Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth," and "In This Home on Ice." The rest is hit or miss but I love those tracks. Haven't listened to the new album at all yet.
