Let's talk Son Volt. I liked Trace quite a bit, but the songs weren't as individually memorable as the ones on Uncle Tupelo's Anodyne and Wilco's Being There. Good sound, though.

Trace was really good. Their new album is pretty good. I haven't heard much in between. I caught about 15 minutes of them at Austin City Limits last year and they were good-sounding. They outdrew the New Pornographers. Austin loves alt. country.

I think this is the sort of thing that might be better car listening than desk listening. I'm gonna earmark this for when I drive down to Bloomington this summer; this feels like it'll really work downstate, which is where I think they're all from, anyway.

Bobby Boris Pickett died today at age 69. The Forest Slash sucked, but the Monster Mash was and still is awesome. RIP Bobby.

Let's meet up when !!! is playing and have arguments that just consist of ad hominem shots unrelated to the actual topic.

Anderson Cooper was doing a story on snitchin' tonight and at the end the final shot showcased a pulsing beat and a blue and red graffiti-style graphic with none other then Killa Cam.

AC has no clue that by showing Cam on CNN he's given him so, so much more to talk about.

So I went to this free concert at my school tonight and the opening act was Consequence which ended up becoming a surprise performance by Kanye West. Also, Shiny Toy Guns headlined which wasn't too bad.

Awesome find. This inspired me to find "Channel One Suite," which I haven't listened to post-crash.

What are people's opinions here on Clap Your Hands Say Yeah?

I can't get a read on if this is a band I'd get made fun of for liking here or if other people do to. Usually I know these things right away but I'm in the middle on this one.

I really enjoy Details of the War, The Skin of my Yellow Country Teeth, and Upon the Tidal Wave of Young Blood

I saw them live for five dollars, passed out on a bench about three songs into the set, and woke up covered in vomit (I assume it was my own, but I can't be sure of that).

These were my Nikki Sixx days.

I like a handful of songs, especially "Let the Cool Goddess Rust Away," "Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth," and "In This Home on Ice." The rest is hit or miss but I love those tracks. Haven't listened to the new album at all yet.
