kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Just curious. I went through the first disc of of the first volume. It's interesting to see that 1-2 minutes of not-for-syndication material in each episode. So far it looks to be just axed standup material. Also, I never watched Seinfeld when it was on NBC, so I like seeing in what order the episodes aired in -- I never realized that chick in the "stake out" episode was also in the "stock tip" episode, or that the "import/export" line that Susan busted George with in a later episode was created in the "stake out" episode as well... Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I got it from DDD, and I've watched everything from the first box set except for the long documentary and commentaries. I've watched all episodes on the first box set, and up to the third disc on season 3. Many people say that the first three seasons are lacking because it isn't wacky enough, or just flat out not good enough, but to me, some of the most classic moments from the entire series is jam packed into the first three seasons. Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Hollywood Video has them, so I'll wait for them to be put on the MVP plan before I rent them.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I'm getting them soon. Season 1 and 2 aren't great (still some really great episodes) but Season 3 is one of the best seasons Seinfeld did with The Boyfriend being one of the most historic and important Seinfeld episodes in history
Guest Shutterspeed Report post Posted December 5, 2004 The first two seasons are brilliant, but just missing third season territory by a small amount, which was sitcom perfection.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I think Season 4 was sitcom perfection for Seinfeld. Season 3 was right behind it- more of a tease of the greatness to come. Seasons 3-7 of Seinfeld are pure brilliance.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I'm getting the big box for Christmas. I assume the documentary (based on the trailer I saw on the Spider-Man 2 DVD) is the same one that aired on NBC on Thanksgiving, which was good.

treble 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I assume the documentary (based on the trailer I saw on the Spider-Man 2 DVD) is the same one that aired on NBC on Thanksgiving, which was good. Probably about 80% of it, the special went on more about the later seasons than the DVD thing did. Â I picked them up a day or so after they came out and I'm up to the Boyfriend episode now. Every DVD set should have a 'Notes about Nothing' feature, my only beef with it is that sometimes it tries to say too much and goes by too fast to be able to read it. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Do the "Notes about Nothing" go through the entire episode? I'm going to watch all the episodes and special features (bloopers, documentaries, etc.) before watching those...
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I went into the local Strawberries Records and Tapes store(they should change the subname of the store since they sell more DVDs than cassettes now...but anyways) with the intent of picking up Married...With Children Season 1. I saw this on sale for $40(compared to $50 regularly) and picked it up. Great purchase to say the least. Â To kkk you can tell the timeline of every episode by looking at George. His hairline slowly recedes more and more with every season.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 I'll be getting the box set for Christmas . . . I think. Â The evolution of Kramer is very interesting. He starts out as a mysterious almost creepy neighbor you wouldn't want to cross to a mysterious kooky neighbor that seems to invent a new noise every week. Â Same w/ George. He's cheap the whole time but at least he sincerly means well for the first few seasons and is very concious of how others perceive him . . . but somewhere along the way, he stops giving a shit and starts double crossing people and doing whatever it takes to get what he feels he needs. Â Obviously, this goes on in just about every sitcom but I love Seinfeld so I notice it a lot more here.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 Mascot -- lol, you're right. Also George seemed to get more portly as the season went on. Â In addition, I never noticed Kramer's dog in that pilot episode before, although I did wonder why they ditched the first "Jerry's Dad..."
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 I really, really cannot get over how many people in this series went on to bigger things. I even noticed Coop's mom from the OC in one of the episodes the other day.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Yeah, it seems that every secondary character got on other successful programs. Except of course for George, Elane and Kramer (How's that new show Jason Alexander is in doing by the way?...)
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted December 9, 2004 Listen Up is suppose to be doing very well in the ratings. His character is based on Tony Kornheisser. That's all I know of the show.
