This week in the NBA

Recommended Posts

TNT, Thursday

San Antonio @ Houston, 8 PM ET

Boston @ Portland, 10:30 PM ET

ESPN, Friday

Philadelphia @ Chicago, 8 PM ET

Portland @ Utah, 10:30 PM ET

Not a good national TV week. Of course, the Rockets were supposed to be really good and they're...well, not. The Jazz will be without Kirilenko, and we could have had Kings/Wolves or Grizz/Heat for the Friday opener. I guess the half-hour starting disparages would have cut into important World Series of Poker reruns or something. At least my man Zach Randolph gets some exposure.

Seattle is @Spurs and @Dallas this week as well as a home game Vs Boston that they can hopefully avenge their earlier loss. I'll consider it successful if they win 2 out of 3.

The Lakers have traded Kareem Rush to the Bobcats for 2 second round picks.

Kind of a surprising move I'd say, Rush always seemed to have a good game when he was given minutes on the floor. Didn't get much for him either.

That's a dumb move. Especially considering Rush basically shot us into the Finals last year.

I wouldn't mind having some Bobcats draft picks for a guy that's not going to get any PT.

But...Atlanta won tonight.

Oh Dear God, you're a Sixers fan. I'm sorry.

WHEW!!!!

Clippers escape with a win in Double OT against the Bobcats tonight. Clips played like crap the whole game.

But more importantly Brand might now miss the game against Lakers after he literally snapped on Okafor. Brand just lost it after he lost the ball and swung his arms violently at Okafor, and the league could easily rule that those swings were punches. It is not surprising to me to see Brand lose it since he just gets killed inside during most games and he never gets the calls. It was more out of frustation than the actual play since he just appeared to lose the handle on the ball.

Eh, its alright. I take comfort in the fact that there are two sports where I could run a better team than the people who actually run them.

In good news for me at least, the T'Wolves against the Mavericks is the live game shown over here in England tonight at 1am. T'Wolves are picking up their sixth straight win tonight.

I'm not gonna defend Skiles, but his roster is a fucking mess of inconsistent guys who should still be in college or just out with old guys who aren't very good anymore thrown in plus Kirk Hinrich. He's got 5 to 8 guys who can put up decent to good numbers but you never know when they'll do that or go 1 for 3 with 2 rebounds and not much else. It's just not a very well put together team.

The Wizards have a pretty respectable starting 5, I don't think it's that big of a shcok either.

Gilbert Arenas, Larry Hughes, Antawn Jamison, Jarvis Hayes, Kwame Brown and Brendan Haywood can all put up decent to big numbers on a consistent basis. Those 6 are better than anyone else in the east's top six I'd venture to say.

I'm seeing the Wizards play against the Pistons when I visit DC on Christmas break. I don't wanna start a new thread, so I'll ask the DC/Baltimore area residents around here, how's the area around the MCI Center? I know DC is kind of scuzzy so I'm just wondering and what are some good places to eat around there? Last question, how's the MCI Center itself? The only basketball arena venue I've visited is the Fleet Center, it's perfectly fine, but it's non descript.

I thought this would be the year the Bulls were good and we could get four or EVEN FIVE qualifying teams from the Central

Bulls beat the Cavs! Not only beat, they slaughtered them 113-85. They can still be a good team this season!

The Spurs were so close.....even cutting the lead to a mere 2 points but could not find a way to stop the 3 point shooters in the 4th. The Spurs seriously need to find another person other than Tim Duncan to score points in pressure situations. And no the Spurs do not need Karl Malone.

The Jazz fell off the face of the earth because the great AK is hurt.

DEAR GOD

WHAT A MOTHERFUCKIN BASKETBALL GAME!!!!

Suns beat the Lakers 113-110 when Q hit a three with 6.9 seconds left.

Lakers lead by 13 with 5 minutes to go and the Suns outscored them 19-3 to end the game.

This was a straight out shootout.

Oh by the way, the New Orleans Arena is so empty, it's scary. Move that team now.

New Orleans is a disaster at this point. Baron has the chronic disc problem in his back, Mash is done for the forseeable future, and now McGloire is out several months with a busted hand.

Honestly, I don't see how they can really compete or even lay solid plans for the future at this point. Baron will likely be traded as he won't play through injury for them, he won't get full value because of the chronic injury, and they've got nothing else for fans to get excited about.

Charlotte is going to be in better shape than them pretty quick, if they aren't already.

You know, it's good to see that the Lakers can even keep up with a team that's playing as well as Phoenix is. That's really promising for the future.

Shame they couldn't put the Suns away when they needed to, though. Fuck the national networks for not televising it.

Bulls win in a blowout which is different for them. I've notice all of their 3 wins came on a Wednesday. Its good Chandler has been playing well of late despite being unskilled.
