Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 I'm getting my mom some top-shelf booze for her liquor cabinet, and this woman at work I'm stuck in a gift exchange with is getting whatever dumb bullshit I find with Aerosmith plastered on it (she's a huge fan) and a huge Hershey bar.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Bunch of DVDs, and some LOTR DVD board game for the better half. That's it -- fuck the rest of my family. Oh, and I bought some toy for my future nephew that I was told to get when I went out on Black Friday. I forget what it was already...

Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Oh, and I bought some toy for my future nephew that I was told to get when I went out on Black Friday. I forget what it was already... Hokey-Pokey Elmo? I think that's the big toy of the year for little kids.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 No, it was one of those Hot Wheels tracks that look cool on the box cover but never work when assembled. I think it had a dinosaur's head...
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Well its obviously not an educational toy if its mixing cars with dinosaurs. Although you could be the funny uncle and make the child think its historically accurate later on in his life.
Garth Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 I got my dad the latest Harry Potter film on DVD. Going to get my mum the Stepford Wives. My grandad A murder of Crows, not sure about my gran yet.

Tawren Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Calgary Roughnecks (pro lacrosse) season tickets for my dad. That's it so far.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Although you could be the funny uncle and make the child think its historically accurate later on in his life. Nah. I really don't care about my future niece or nephew, which is why I think my niece likes me. I don't do any of that lame crap most aunts and uncles do...
Guest Vitamin X Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I got my mom a Roomba, which is one of those automatic robotic vacuums. It's actually cleaning the house right now. Since she's the only one who will bitch endlessly about not receiving Christmas presents, and since she has an obsession with vacuuming which is really irritating, it worked out perfectly. I'm not buying anyone else christmas presents, since I give people gifts throughout the year and I'm extremely tight on money.
Guest T®ITEC Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Got my pregnant friend the Weiß Kreuz DVD set that she wanted. Fuck it, her baby shower is in February anyway. I'll see if I can't get my brother to go in with me on a Beach Boys box set for our folks.
CanadianChris Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Got my wife an antique tea cart and some other goodies (Law & Order: CI season 1 among them). I was originally thinking jewelry, but that's a bit cliché for a first Christmas. My sister's getting a Game Boy, and my mom is getting M*A*S*H Season 7. Everyone else...dunno.
The Czech Republic Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Season SEVEN? M*A*S*H sucked balls by season 4, let alone 7.
Guest BDC Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 My brother: a sketchbook and a cartooning book Mom: working on it Dad: briefcase, chipped in on a Dell Dimension for him. Girlfriend: basket of bath and body works stuff, whatever I grab before that cursed store gives me a headache.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I got my mom a Roomba How well does it work? From the looks of the commercial I would love one of those. Its like $120 + shipping though, correct?
2GOLD Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 gf- locket and Shrek 2 dvd along with a BSF CD. Mom- no idea yet, I'm in total blank mode Dad- something involving Dale Jr, no clue what though. That about covers it. Various friends gifts but not bought yet. Money is tight as hell thanks to a trip to the Big Apple after Christmas.
Ravenbomb Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 GF: This Nightmare Before Christmas CD wallet off eBay (I'm broke and she loves Nightmare Before Christmas) This still leaves the problem of what to get for her b-day (it's Jan. 2nd)
Guest Vitamin X Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 I got my mom a Roomba How well does it work? From the looks of the commercial I would love one of those. Its like $120 + shipping though, correct? Depends on where you buy it. Mine cost roughly $180 split up into 4 monthly payments. It works great, actually, you just have to make sure you pick up anything on the floor it can get caught on, just like with a traditional vac.
Guest Banders Kennany Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 For some reason I never really buy gifts for anyone over the holdiays. I have a big family so I always make out with tons of loot but no one has ever given me shit becsuse I don't buy anything. I just think it's a waste of money. I do on occassion if there is a great buy on the cheap and I know it could really brighten someone's day but that's just not me. I would rather someone else buy it and waste money. The only time I will definitely buy something is if I like a girl and want to slip the bone in her. A good present with a good efforet usually seals the deal with any girl.
