Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 15, 2005 I kinda dig this "qualifying" thing. It's better then people just automatically being in there. I like the sell that you had to EARN your way in.

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 16, 2005 So London beat Dupree, so he's in. Woohoo! London gets on PPV. I guess we'll get to see him eliminated viciously.. wouldn't it be cool for London and Akio to start the Rumble? I know... no one but people who like good wrestling will care. Guest FromBeyondTheGrave Report post Posted January 16, 2005 Going by qualifing matches, including house shows, I imagine the 30 guys to be... Raw: 1. Shelton Benjamin. 2. Edge. 3. Batista. 4. Chris Benoit. 5. Chris Jericho. 6. Christian. 7. Gene Snitsky. 8. Kane. 9. Muhammad Hassan. 10. Simon Dean. 11. Rob Conway. 12. Sylvain Grenier. 13. Coach/Val Venis - Qualifying Match. 14. Shawn Michaels. 15. Stevie Night Heat, or Viscera, or Tajiri, etc. No. 1 - 14 are pretty much definite, 15 is just a guess. Smackdown: 1. Daniel Puder. 2. Charlie Haas. 3. Booker T. 4. Luther Reigns. 5. Mark Jindrak. 6. Eddie Guerrero. 7. Rey Mysterio. 8. Kenzo Suzuki. 9. John Cena. 10. Paul London. 11. Orlando Jordan. 12. Doug Basham. 13. Danny Basham. 14. Chavo Guerrero. 15. Spike Dudley. No. 11 - 15, are guesses.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 Looking at FBTG's list, its almost like really any "main" stars can win it. Sadly, the only one that I can see winning it is on the RAW side, since not a single RAW superstar (Benoit was SD still when he won) has won it. Even more, I think Edge will be 2nd to last and get screwed by someone (Shawn) and ends up going psycho. As to who wins... I've got no idea, unless they seriously go Batista. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 It'd be nice to see Stevie make it to the Rumble for once.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 Stevie would be cool, especially since he was so hillarious in that battle royal on RAW a few weeks back when he was in the last 6 or so guys. I can't believe they don't at least give this guy a lower mid-card push or put him in a tag team with someone like Snitsky where he can be the mouth piece. The guy is too talented to just waste on Heat squashes week after week.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 16, 2005 Stevie doesn't get a push because he gets hurt every 6 months. He had a HUGE push in early '01. Its not like they are afraid of him. They feel it's better not investing so much into him since he's completely injury prone. As for London officially being in the rumble; It's nice and all and I'd love to see him actually get some time but and even a interaction with Shawn but all in likihood; he's #9 and is cannon fodder for Snitsky/Kane/Tistia. Im wondering if EVERYONE entrant will have to qualify. There's enough time for them to do 30 of these matches but im betting some get double chances to qualify. Hopefully they dont give out spots again. It's been awhile since a complete mystery rumble. Every year since 1999 save '02 we've known #1 and/or #30. 99-Austin and McMahon (1&2) and Chyna (30) 00-Xpac (30) 01-Rikishi (30) 02-none announced 03-hbk(1) Jericho (2) 04-Benoit (1), Goldberg (3) So this year; no announcing who will draw #1 or #30. PLEASE. Also bring back the old school 10-15 second pre rumble promo from 90% of the rumblers. and show a majority of the "drawings". That shit was always fun. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 This Rumble somewhat lacks this year w/ Big Show, Angle, and Orton all out. To my knowledge, Angle's only been in one Rumble match since he joined the company. Orton not being in the Rumble just means he (thankfully) won't be main eventing Wrestlemania. I'm kinda tired of seeing Big Show dominate battle royals. An in-ring confrontation with Kane might've been sorta cool, though.

cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 TAMPA, FLORIDA – This past weekend, two more WWE Superstars qualified for the 16th annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view contest in Fresno, California. At WWE live events in Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida, respectively, both Charlie Haas and Booker T also earned the right to enter the 30-man over the top rope battle, bringing the total contestants involved so far to five (SmackDown!’s Daniel Puder and Raw’s Edge and Shelton Benjamin have also been entered). http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/smackdo...adytoRumble.jsp I read that myself and the only problem is that Haas & Booker were in tag matches both nights against Reigns & Jindrak. slimm44 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 This year looks better than the past few years. There was always some angle that had someone definitely winning the Rumble. (I thought for sure that would have happened with Orton) Now it could go either way that's how I see it
Garth 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 I just have a feeling that Orton will still manage to find his way into the rumble somehow, like taking someone out backstage and taking his spot.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2005 Just so you all know, the reason I haven't edited the main page with more entrants is because neither WWE.com or the shows haven't mentioned the entrants. By sucks, I mean he is like the Eagles. He can see the promised land, but he can't take care of the final order of business to get there. He is always in the Final 2 or 3 and then gets eliminated, often because of a mistake he made and managed to eliminate himself. He chokes in other words. Booker T qualifies at a WWE live event in Jacksonville, Fla. while it lists the opponents for Edge and Shelton.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2005 Added Jordan's name since, according to Heat, he's in the Rumble. Which is a little goof on their part because Jordan just qualified TONIGHT in Halifax (probably after Heat went off the air). To add to the humor ... Orlando beat Charlie Haas to get into the match. Haas has already qualified for the Rumble ... So I guess if Haas won, he would have had 2 entries?

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 18, 2005 10 raw spots left... Only one raw left to go til Rumble...I'm thinking next week they do 4 qualifying matches with the other five occuring on the house shows this week. (or sundays heat) On Raw next week. Batistia(wins) Vs Ric Flair Muhammad Hassan(wins) Vs Rhyno Benoit(wins) Vs Tomko Le Rez (wins) Vs Superheros Tajiri, Coach(u know they will...its a cross promotional ppv, he gets a match on all of these) Matt Hardy(doesn't qualify but is entered as a mystery man) Richards and Regal win the house show matches. I believe kane and snitsky do the injury sell next week with the returning to run in the casket match. As for Smackdown... Only 4 spots filled...11 to go. 2 Shows left however.... 4 on each show this week and next week make 8 and 3 on the circuit. This week Eddy Guerrero and Mysterio (wins) Vs Bashams Funaki(wins) Vs Spike John Cena (wins) Vs Rene Dupree Velocity this week Paul London(wins) Vs Akio House Shows Chavo Guerrero (wins) Vs Kidman Hardcore Holly (wins) Vs Kenzo Suzuki Rene Dupree (wins) Vs Shannon Moore Next Week Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak(wins) Vs Dudleyz Kidman (wins) Vs S2H
