For all of you who think that it would be kinder to put her out of her misery; shut the fuck up. She seems happy from what I can see, because the people around her aren't assholes namely. Ok, I'm settling this thread.

 

Being monstrously ugly is one thing. You could make a case for euthanising infants that will die (perhaps horribly) anyway, but being hideously disturbing is not such a bad fate. You will of course, look fine to yourself. Those around you won't be bothered so much, because they're used to it, as evidenced by the burn victim I used to know. All it means is that strangers will react to you in a negative way, which, if you are moderately intelligent, you will be able to understand and accept, and you should be able to be sheltered until such time.

 

However, the quoted posts are ignorant posturing. Nothing more needs to be said.

I'll say one last thing on this and then I'll leave it be.

 

First of all I wish the condition she has on nobody. 100 years ago she wouldn't have survived being born and quite frankly that's how it should be. Its one thing to use medical technology to save somebody with a minor hole in their heart but its a completely different matter to save something that has no bussiness living. I could careless how she looks, but you know there's alot of physical agony she's going through. She can't eat and needs to be put on a stomach tube, she evidently can't breathe without tubing in her nose and I imagine down to her windpipe, she's missing a portion of her ear so she isn't going to hear well. That's the physical stuff. There are people in society ALOT crueler than I and they're going to make fun of her, try to get her to think twice about going in for something to eat at a Family Resteraunt, and I truly doubt she'll ever get somebody who will love her romantically. If you add up the physical and the mental agony she's going to go through all her life then you can see she's going to lead a horrid one.

 

There comes a point in time with medical technology where the doctors have to practice better ethics. Just because they can save something's life doesn't mean they should. This child was never meant to live beyond birth in terms of what genotics did to it.

 

On the subject matter of who I am, yes I did come here before as FrigidSoul. Taking about 6months off from all the messageboards I came to see that my problem before is I cared too much of the politics involved. Now I really don't care. I came back mainly to talk sports, upcoming TV Series DVD releases, and videogames with people. Tom has known all along who I was and since I wasn't banned I was allowed to come back. I'm also not going to be lured into personal arguements this time around. If people really want to attack me verbally on a personal level then I can just hit that little 'x' in the upper right hand corner and it goes away. No big deal.

This was the only X-Files episode I watched all the way through.

Those were the types of episodes I really enjoyed. The ones where Scully and Mulder were up against something that was created by nature and was difficult/impossible to explain. Examples would be that episode where they went to find the missing loggers and those glowing bugs had killed them or the one with the volcano and the spores. I didn't enjoy the government conspiracy alien dribble much at all.
