1234-5678 Posted December 21, 2004 Author Report Posted December 21, 2004 I got a new one for ya. Chris Elliott in Cabin Boy.
Sass Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 As someone mentioned earlier.... Stephen Dorf. Man, this guy is a dead on pick. "Feat Dot Com" seemed to wipe the guy's career out after looking strong in the successful Blade movie.
cabbageboy Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 The funny thing is that I too wondered why I hadn't seen Dorff in much since Blade. I'd have thought he'd have gotten a bit more work.
Precious Roy Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Dorff was good in Cecil B. Demented, not sure if that's before or after Fear.com.....
Sass Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Peter Weller. Black Lushus brought this one up. It seemed like Weller got typecasted from doing Robocop and could never find another breakout role. His movie "Screamers" was like the last thing I remember him getting big time pub for. Too bad, I liked his facial expressions.
2GOLD Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Stephen Doriff choses not to do big time roles but his career is far from dead. He was in "Cold Creek Manor" with Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone in 2003 and he'll be in the beyond horrible looking "Alone in the Dark" to be released in 2005. He is another one of the Hollywood strange guys. As he has turned down various big time roles. And you want typecast? Michael Biehn
notJames Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Chloe Sevigny's blow job scene in The Brown Bunny will most likely keep her off the Hollywood radar for a long, long time. But I'll be she'll be on Vincent Gallo's speed-dial forever.
the max Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Re: Kiefer Sutherland Kiefer has settled into 24 and while he still does movies, he focuses more on 24. # The Wild (2006) (pre-production) # River Queen (2005) (filming) # Jiminy Glick in La La Wood (2004) # Taking Lives (2004) .... Hart # The Land Before Time X: The Great Longneck Migration (2003) (V) (voice) .... Bron # Paradise Found (2003) .... Paul Gauguin # Phone Booth (2002) .... The Caller That's what he has since Phone Booth.
CBright7831 Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Adam West. Although a movie didn't kill him, a certain role did. He will forever be known as Batman.
cabbageboy Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Chloe Sevigny had to be insane to do that shit in a movie. Seriously, what non porn actress would agree to do that in a movie (besides homemade stuff)? It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase actresses use "Who do I have to blow to get a job around here?"
Ravenbomb Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Adam West. Although a movie didn't kill him, a certain role did. He will forever be known as Batman. I dunno, they haven't mentioned Batman once on Family Guy

Seriously, what non porn actress would agree to do that in a movie (besides homemade stuff)? It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase actresses use "Who do I have to blow to get a job around here?" Maybe it was a nostalgia thing for her... wasn't her first role the girl in Kids who passed out and got fucked on-screen?
Ravenbomb Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Devon Sawa had a fair amount of momentum going until Slackers Tomcats and Kangaroo Jack probably killed Jerry O'Connell's career
Madmartigan21 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Devon Sawa had a fair amount of momentum going until Slackers Tomcats and Kangaroo Jack probably killed Jerry O'Connell's career Kangaroo Jack made over $66 million. Also, Jerry O'Connel has never been a big star to have his career killed by one movie.
Guest Smues Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 1. Master of disguise was a bomb. Bomb. Boom. Explode 2. There is NO excuse for mentioning Gattaca. Can we please just let that movie be forgotten and fade out of existence? 3. Chris Kattan's last movie that I know of is Under Cover Brother. If he had a career I'd say Corky Romano killed it, but that'd be giving him too much credit.
KingPK Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 I'd say The Tuxedo started Jackie Chan's tailspin in this country, and his follow-up projects just continued it. The Tuxedo was just so un-Chan like it wasn't funny. Crappy premise (Inspector Gadget ripoff really), horrible script (come on, an evil BOTTLED WATER DISTRIBUTOR?!), and NOBODY bought "Jennifer Love Hewitt: Action Star." Both Shanghai movies were pretty good for Chan movies, though, and I liked both the Wild Western setting and Owen Wilson in them.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Yeah. Wilson and Chan had a lot of chemistry. More than Chan and Tucker, IMO.
1234-5678 Posted December 22, 2004 Author Report Posted December 22, 2004 Devon Sawa had a fair amount of momentum going until Slackers Tomcats and Kangaroo Jack probably killed Jerry O'Connell's career Aw man, "Slackers" was hilarious! How can you deny Jason Schwartzman?

How can you deny Jason Schwartzman? I don't, I just hate Slackers...and I don't care much for Slacker either
Madmartigan21 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 2. There is NO excuse for mentioning Gattaca. Can we please just let that movie be forgotten and fade out of existence? I like to remember good movies. In fact I'm remembering Gattaca right now because I can see the DVD from my seat.
nogoodnick Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 I cant take anyone on the cast of Friends seroiusly as a movie actor. I will always think of them as Ross, Joey, Phoebe, etc.
Guest Jimmy Saint Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 About Jackie Chan, yes his Hollywood films have been bollecks. The Rush Hour and Shanghai films have been watchable but its no use begrudging the guy making shit like The Tuxedo. He is nearly 50 now and he spent the whole of the 80's trying to kill himself to make some of the greatest kung fu\action film ever seen. He was due some stupid Hollywood paydays and I am glad he is getting them now.

Give credit where credit is due. That scene was pretty fuckin hot.
Black Lushus Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 you guys actually find that Chloe chick to be attractive? I about gagged looking at her in Boys Don't Cry... in response to the Kiefer Sutherland response earlier...wasn't he sset to be one of the big screen stars of the future during his run in the 80s? That's why I mentioned him...he basically tapered off in the 90s only to be seen in small roles, direct to video and 24...
1234-5678 Posted December 22, 2004 Author Report Posted December 22, 2004 Nah, she's not hot, but she knows how to do nice work, if you catch my drift.
Black Lushus Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 yeah true, the not-so-hot ones tend to do things a touch better!
the max Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 you guys actually find that Chloe chick to be attractive? That's why I mentioned him...he basically tapered off in the 90s only to be seen in small roles, direct to video and 24... Once the shit hit the fan with Julia Roberts ditching him for his best friend, it kind of tapered off. He actually took off from Hollywood and stuff and went to be a cowboy for a few years. That pretty much killed those "Kiefer is the next great actor" thoughts by everyone.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 I got a new one for ya. Chris Elliott in Cabin Boy. Dude, whatever. That movie is the shit. Now I know what you're thinkin'..what could be stranger than a big, fatass, floatin' cupcake? Well. How about one that spits tobacco?
cabbageboy Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Did Chris Elliott really HAVE a career to kill? Hell the guy still gets some work doesn't he? He revolted me in Scary Movie 2 anyway. Heh, so Kiefer's career was ruined due to Julia dumping him? I wouldn't say ruined, he still gets consistent work when he wants it.
