Dips Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Just downloaded it myself and was wondering what people thought of it.
Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 I thought it was kind of like most teen-targeted comedies these days, only replacing the dick and fart jokes with Jesus humor. It was kind of clever for the first twenty minutes or so, but then it got kind of irritating. Macaulay Culkin is pretty damn great in this, though (especially the scene where he's dancing in his wheelchair for quarters at the mall).
CanadianChick Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 I loved it. The absurdity of it was great. I can see why people would get irritated after awhile, but I found it very funny.
teke184 Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 I loved it and thought it was great... but I also attended a religious HS that had a LOT of the Mandy Moore characters there.
nogoodnick Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 I thought it was pretty good too. Worth a watch at least.
Downhome Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Just downloaded it myself and was wondering what people thought of it. I have an idea. Before you post another thread like this, let us know what you actually thought of the movie. http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...topic=62315&hl= I bought the DVD the other day for $5, and I'll watch it sometime soon.
NoCalMike Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 What I heard from most people I usually agree with is that while witty and clever at certain times, overall the movie was a dissapointment. To them it was one of the movies that dared itself to be controversial, but then would always chicken out halfway there.
Guest SP-1 Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Though it seemed to be written by some guy who got burned by a bad church, it made some really valid points that I've observed as a Christian for quite some time.
bobobrazil1984 Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 It was an entertaining movie. Mandy Moore did a really good job actually, about 10 minutes in, I forgot it was Mandy Moore, instead just thinking of her as the bible-thumping character. Good stuff.
Mecha Mummy Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Started out very good and just sort of decreased in quality as the movie progressed. I enjoyed it, but not overwhelmingly so.
MARTYEWR Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 It's definitely worth a rental. Mandy Moore was great in her role. I wouldn't call the movie outstanding, but it's worth a look.
Nevermortal Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Fun little movie. I'd so bang the Jewish chick.

I haven't watched the movie yet, hence I am asking people if it good so I can decide whether to watch it or not. If I had watched it already I would give my opinion on it.
godthedog Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Fun little movie. I'd so bang the Jewish chick. i've wanted to bang that chick since 'welcome to the dollhouse'.

If you already downloaded the movie, why wouldn't you decide to watch it? You don't really have anything to lose. DH, where did you get the DVD for $5? I haven't watched it yet, but I would easily blind-buy the DVD at that price.

Since you downloaded it, go watch it, then post what people thought. DH, where did you get the DVD for $5? I haven't watched it yet, but I would easily blind-buy the DVD at that price. At a local video store, there are only about five of the stores in this area. It was used, but in perfect like new condition, it was pretty much new. I buy stuff from there all the time. Their used DVDs range from $3-$10.
