Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Admittedly, I don't watch sports like I used to, but it seems to me that many, at least in America, sports teams have dreadfully BORING jerseys. Even teams like the Atlanta Hawks that had cool jerseys a few years ago have gone to wearing the ultra generic team name and number jerseys. This is happening in just about every major sport here. In hockey they sometimes throw the logo on the front, but otherwise, it's usually hardly there or in football on the shoulders. It just seems uninspired. I remember when the Hawks and the Raptors had their logos on the front of their jerseys and it looked pretty cool. It's better than having ads on your jersey but not by much. I'm from New England myself and we have some of the worst offenders here. I HATE the red Red Sox jersey. Thoughts? Opinions?
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I'm not a Sox fan, but how could you hate the classic B?
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I myself am a New England sports fan (albeit removed from the area), but I personally love the team jereseys there. Red Sox and Celtics may be plain, however they represent the tradition of the team.
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 That's differant, i'm referring to the red jerseys they started wearing this year. I'm more talking about how teams get a cool logo like the Toronto Raptos, stick it on their jerseys, and now they just wear plain ones that says Raptors. Or how the stripe the Denver Broncos started using looked revolutionary on a football uniform. A STRIPE! Mainly I'd like to see team logos/names integrated better. For example, the Bengals could have a jersey that was all tiger stripes with white numbers or something. I hope I'm making sense.
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Even a simple things like putting the shamrock on the I of the Celtics jersey. Just little things to make your jersey stand out and not look vanilla and mass produced.
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Those red jerseys are thankfully only worn about 7 times a year and mainly on Sundays. I like all the Boston jerseys the way they are. I can't lie though. I was happy to see the Pats finally change their unis in the 90s. The evil constapated Pat the Patriot just never did it for me.
A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I am a Chicago sports fan, although I moved away about six years ago. I do not like the Bulls jerseys for one reason. They actually found a way to stick the logo on the random part of the jersey. Now the shorts were badass when they had the logo dropping towards the knee, running down the side. Now they have the logo slapped on the shoulder blades of the players. It looks bad.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 The Bull is still in a diamond on the bottom of the shorts, but it's also above the name and I HATE that. Um...the Celtics, Red Sox, and Bruins uniforms should never be/have been fucked with. Oh, and the Toronto Raptors looked GOD-AWFUL until they simplified thost things. There was a cartoon dinosaur dribbling on a pinstriped jersey, it was hideous. What do you mean "sometimes in hockey they throw the logo on the front"? Every team but New York does. I also loved the old Buccs jersey, old Nugget jersey. So that's not suprising. I love the classic look, or the retro 70's-80's look. Recent jerseys are too generic. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 The original Mighty Duck uniforms. Dear god, what was that franchise thinking with that original design? Those had to be the ugliest uniforms ever invented or at least in the top ten.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I really like the Miami Hurricane football uniforms. They look like a pro team, and that look is only the icing on top of their usual playing ability. I really like the recent subtle changes made to the Lions uniforms too. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I have a pretty nice Shanahan Red Wing jersey (white). Football jerseys are far and away the most boring...hockey has the best.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I have no problem with uniforms with simpler designs. Often times, less is more.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 less is more, I agree, hence why I dig the old Lions uniforms, you know, plain silver helmet, plain blue jersey, plain silver pants, plain blue socks pulled up to the knees...during the 75th anniversary throwback season, that was my favorite look out of all the teams... sfaJack 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Simple, basic designs are best. Pinstripe baseball jerseys (namely Yankees and Cubs) are probably my favorite. And the Cubs' blue "alternate" jerseys have it all over their usual road gray.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 I really like the Miami Hurricane football uniforms. They look like a pro team Probably because they emulated the Denver Bronco's design
starvenger 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2005 Football jerseys are far and away the most boring... These football unis from the CFL were decidedly not boring. Guest Ether Report post Posted January 8, 2005 I can't stand how it seems like every hockey team has incorporated black uniforms for the puck camoflauge effect, even when the teams actual colors are nor black. The Philadelphia Flyers are the best examples I can think of.
