BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 well he only had a clear minute to talk and I doubt he'd be able to say what he would need to say to Kim in a minute
BigPoppaKev 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 I was thinking maybe they could bring back Chase and Kim (and possibly their children if they want to bring it kids of theres) and have them somehow get in trouble and Jack has to come back from the underground for his family.....I know it is somewhat similar to themes in the 1st season but I'm sure the writers of the show could figure out something different. DMann2003 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 The real question is this... how do they make the next season work? I talked to quite a few people on the phone in the past two hours and none of us could come up with anything even remotely plausible. "In 2005, Jack Bauer was almost sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit. He faked his death and escaped to the Los Angeles underground. There he survives as a soldier of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help you, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire JACK BAUER." OMG That's exactly what I was thinking, though you forgot to add he'd solve the problem in under 24hrs.

Guest OSIcon Report post Posted May 24, 2005 I think this season was easily the second best season. I don't know if was the best because season one was nearly flawless in my eyes. It didn't jump around much with the villian, only switching from Gains and to Drazen which was like switching from the Araz family to Marwan this year (one was the focus early on but then he/they gave way completely to the real villian about halfway through). Season 2 started out really well but really fizzled and dragged after the bomb went off. Season 3 was generally a mess with a billion changes in who the bad guy was and equally as many changes to what the motives were behind the attacks. This season, all of that was clear throughout which made the final few episodes *that* more intense. It was hard to really care about Jack catching Saunders last season because we only knwe Saunders for a few episodes prior to that. This season, you knew Marwan for a long time and knew his direct henchmen from the get go, which made the chase for him mean more. No idea where they go from here. They did such a good job in the final minutes getting over how Jack's old life is completely over that it would be a shame to just drop that sometime next season with some sort of twist that helps him regain his old identity and life. The series needed a change in direction after three straight season of terrorist attacks on American soil (I guess season one was technically a terrorist attack also, but not in the sense we usually think about it). This gives them the chance to tweak with the formula a bit.
keith6601 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 My only concern for next season is that they make it months if not years after this one like they have done with the previous seasons; and that it is already known that Jack is alive, they just need to find him to get his help. packwingfn 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 It was a good ending to the character of "Jack Bauer" Let's just hope Kiefer comes back, he is such a good actor. I really liked the LAST convo between Jack & Palmer, Very touching from all the shit they've been through since 1-4 The series could end right now and I would be happy with that ending. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 24, 2005 Kiefer will probably return, but I doubt it's full time if he's still ready to move on. Next season will likely be the show trying to be something other than the Jack Baeur show, with Kiefer guest starring to smooth the transition.
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 I didn't know there were doubts about his return. I think Tony and Curtis could handle the show.

My favorite is definitely Season 4. What a finale!

packwingfn 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2005 And as the season progressed, the more I liked Curtis, Edgar, Buchanan, and even Chloe. Keep Palmer, Novick and Jack. No more Tony & Michelle. (not that I dont like them, but their ending to their story was great, dont ruin it) And everything should be well.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2005 This season was absolutely fantastic and the final two hours had me on the edge of my seat. I haven't walked away from the season finale of a show saying "Wow" in a really long time. All sorts of ways you can go with season 5, and they didn't pigeon-hole themselves into only one scenario (Jack breaks out of a Chinese prison). The recap of the last four seasons to get us primed for Day 5 worked on every level. What a great show.

That would work but it wont happen. Id like to see how they would deal with Chase's hand that got cut off. My days in order of favorite to least favorite 1 4 2 3 Day 1 will never be touched because of him having to do everything to save his wife/daughter and the ending, even if it had its dumb moments (OMG AMNESIA!). I looked up the TV Tome for the last episode and I saw this: --- Dramatic Irony Near the end of Day 3, Steven Saunders said to Jack, "I was abandoned by my government, as you'll be someday." Saunders was dead right, as his remarks foreshadowed the events of the finale of Day 4. President Logan and the U.S. Government turned on Jack and ordered his death to preserve their integrity with China, despite the fact that Jack sacrificed everything on multiple occasions to save his country. --- Did they plan that from the start? Chazz 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2005 I just started watching 24 this year due to positive response and good word of mouth. I must say I was very Impressed, as I now have a new favorite show. Kudos all around for a great season! I remember reading one of The Writers of 24 saying how tricky It would be to come up Storylines for Season 5 because of how this Season ended. Boy, he wasn't shitting there! Although I do have some quips/questions heading Into Season No.5: -Assuming they bring Driscoll back as The Head of CTU for next Season seeing as she took some time away to deal with her daughter's suicide, does she fire Chloe again after firing her originally at the beginning of the day? I heard the actress who plays Chloe Is returing next season, but I'm not sure about the one who plays Driscoll. -Is Mandy brought back In some way, shape, or form next Season after recieving a Presidental Pardon? I found It a little hard to believe that The Authorities would simply let her walk away after all that she had done In the past, including the attempted murder of President Palmer. Maybe she'll be reprogrammed by The Government Into a Covert Killing Machine for The U.S. I realize It's a stretch, but so was giving her a Full Pardon. -Although It really wasn't signifigant to the whole picture, I was disappointed The Writers didn't reveal whatever happened to Behrooz Araz. Even a little exposition with Marwan saying he killed him and than gotten rid of The Body would've been something. I say this because, A.) I highly doubt that Behrooz will return next Season, and B.) I hate It when good drama's like 24 leave a plot point unresolved. Oh well. Great Season! Can't wait for Day 5!!
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted May 25, 2005 That was a pretty lame ending, damn it. OOO fake his death and have sappy sorrowful cliche moments. Pathetic. When they did the classic "walking into the sunrise by the traintracks while putting on your sunglasses" shot, I threw up a little. But, y'know, I haven't been feeling well today. It really did need the walking away theme, though.
packwingfn 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2005 The "24" Theme playing in the background was good enough for Jack walking away, specially with the Sunglasses. Whoever makes the music is for 24 is damn good.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2005 Dramatic Irony Near the end of Day 3, Steven Saunders said to Jack, "I was abandoned by my government, as you'll be someday." Saunders was dead right, as his remarks foreshadowed the events of the finale of Day 4. President Logan and the U.S. Government turned on Jack and ordered his death to preserve their integrity with China, despite the fact that Jack sacrificed everything on multiple occasions to save his country. --- Would anyone else be interested in seeing Jack turn into Saunders. I could buy it as Jack would be the most sympathetic villian yet as we have seen four seasons of build up and understand why he would turn. And he would obviously be the biggest challenge yet for CTU, since no one knows them like him. Plus this way he could still carry the show while transitioning over to another hero figure, instead of making some implausible reason for his return and/or just dropping the show off into Curtis/Chase/whoever's lap. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 25, 2005 Jack as the villian could make for great TV, but I can't think of what storyline villian Jack should have. He shouldn't be involved in something that threatens US Citizens. It would have to be something with a foreign country or the people in the government that sold him out.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2005 We could always go back to an assassination attempt storyline, which if it is still Logan will be the first time the audience will root for the villian. That could be interesting taking it from the angle of rooting for the bad guy and see CTU fail. This lets him go after a specific target and anyone who gets in his way (opening him up to go after any Secret Service/etc.), plus he can always bluff with mass threats (think Die Hard with a Vengeance) which brings CTU into it. I also want to see this just because a Jack/Mandy team would kick so much ass.
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 25, 2005 They could always figure things out and send an assassin after him, triggering basically a runaway storyline ala Borne.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2005 Big Bump (I coulda bumped my A&E thread..but..I didn't) Take a look at the box for Day 4 which hits shelves on December 6th Im not so sure if I get why the traintracks from the finale are being used, but its still pretty cool and not as bad as what I had heard rumored.. Also, I dont know anything other than its 7 discs which means there will likely be a ton of bonus stuff on the 7th disc, hopefully maybe a Day 5 teaser like last year. Just 15 weeks to the back to back 2 hour premieres of 24...
the max 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2005 There were also train tracks in the premiere of the season as well. So it kind of came full circle, I guess. I like the box though. Hopefully the plastic dvd holders don't start coming out (like they are on my season 2 set).
