Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Good win for the Clippers tonight 103-92 over the Sonics Maggette with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Darrick Martin hit some big shots to seal the win. If the Clippers can survive this tough stretch of games and only be back at worst 2 or 3 games from the playoffs , I think they got a shot. Especially if the team finally gets healthy and gets Jaric,Livingston and Wilcox back.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Rick Brunson has played very well filling in for Jaric. Ex-Knicks represent!
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 The Bulls laid a whoopin' on the 76ers, 110-78. The Bulls are in the 8 spot and are looking two with the Knicks, and then in some order, Hawks, Bobcats, Nuggets, Celtics, and Pistons. Hm.

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 see that's the shittiness of the NBA, because NY leads the division they will seed better than the 8th seed who probably will have a better record...I'm a NY fan, but I am not happy at all with basically backing into the playoffs...being there just because the division is shitty is wack... How many games left on Stephen Jackson's suspension? I don't care if they get swept, making it back to the playoffs is just cool enough right now. These guys have a bright future, though. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 Turnovers per game and the per 48 minutes stats are the most usless stats in basketball. Name me some usefull ones. Now that I'm back home, I can reference Pro Basketball Forecast again. The author uses a stat called turnover ratio.... Turnovers x 100 ------------------- FG Att. + (FT Att. x 0.44) + Asts. + TO The lowest Turnover Ratio in the NBA last year was 5.4 (Michael Finley) and the highest was 21.0 (Chris Kamen). nogoodnick 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 I think Yao is actually regressing as a player, what the fuck is he doing running out to the top of the key to double Vince Carter?!?!! Well the Rockets can look on the bright side. At least they didn't draft Jay Williams. As bad as he looks at times Yao is still averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds. Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 Kobe with a fluke ankle injury, and what looked like a great game is now completely pedestrian Oh well, maybe Lamar Odom can step up and show people why he was traded for Shaq, cuz he's played like shit when Kobe's in the lineup

Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 Yao has about the most awkward 19 points and 8 rebounds you'll find. That every now and then he'll have an awesome game that shows how good he can/could/should be just makes the usual standard of play he regresses to even more annoying. Yeah, I know his numbers look good, but every single time I watch the Rockets play, which is a lot because they're always on national TV, the guy plays like a fool. He misses asignments on both D and O, makes bad decisions at critical moments, and just generally does nothing to help his team win. He doesn't make the impact that he should, he basically plays like a poor man's Rik Smits. The guy obviously has talent and has shown flashes of dominance, but his game is out of whack and he too often plays like a pussy.

Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 and hey, I was right about Odom stepping up. Say what you will about Kobe, he's got mad game, but it's not a coincidence that Odom has trouble producing with Kobe on the court.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 14, 2005 Odom's produced plenty of times when Kobe's on the court. It was Butler who stepped it up today with that surprise double-double. Good to see we got some good out of the Shaq trade like we thought we would! And Vlade Divac continues his run as the worst free agent pickup in NBA history, as he now decided to have surgery (why not earlier?!) and is out for 3 months. Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 Odom's average stats playing with Kobe are quite sub-par considering how talented he is. 14-10-2.7 going into tonights game, which is a major disapointment considering how talented he is. He should be averaging at least 4 assists a game, but because of Kobe's over-dominance of the ball Odom's dynamic game has been reduced to a one dimensional one. Kobe has done nothing for Lamar Odom. EDIT* it should be a Jordan/Pippen dynamic, but Kobe manages to stifle Odom's all-around game and makes him basically an offense rebounder, as much as Odom praises Kobe when the cameras are on.
