Is it just me, or is the iPod a bit overrated? I don't have one, but used to work in an electronics store that carried them...this was last year...back then the 40GB was 499 big ones...don't know if that's still the case. Don't get me wrong, they are nice and pretty cool, but it seems like they are priced higher then competitive mp3 players that have same capacity and do the same stuff. I understand that as the market leaders right now they can price them how they want...but it seems like there are cheaper alternatives on the market that basically have all the same features. It seems like I'm always hearing about people having problems with their iPods as well.

Personally, like I mentioned earlier, I received a Creative Zen Xtra 30GB for Christmas and love it...sure, it's a little bigger than Apple's player, but it has awesome sound quality, more than enough storage space for me, and is easy to use.

And what's with this new iShuffle thing? (I think that's what it's called)...it's this little "stick" iPod with no menu screen...I think it stores like 200 songs...seems like a ripoff to me for 99 bucks. But people will buy them just because they're a cheaper version of the iPod.

Sorry for the long post...as an aside, I think that new mini Mac looks really damn sweet for $499.
