Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Ouch. Mine's a beautiful kicking creature, 2 years old. I've never had a single problem with it. Bless its little clockwork heart.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Yeah, mine's very nice. I've added twelve more songs since last night (the entirety of the Kinks' Arthur album), so now I'm at a very Rush-ian number.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 I got a 30GB Creative Zen Xtra for Christmas. I like is so far. Not as slick as an iPod, but the sound quality is really great. Pretty easy to use as well, and a nice big display.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Don't MP3 players run on battery, so they're expected to die, only to be replaced later with another battery?

Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2005 The software on my ipod just completely screwed up to the extent its sole use now is a paperweight. I've been trying to get Apple to pick it up for repairs since before Christmas
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2005 Is it just me, or is the iPod a bit overrated? I don't have one, but used to work in an electronics store that carried them...this was last year...back then the 40GB was 499 big ones...don't know if that's still the case. Don't get me wrong, they are nice and pretty cool, but it seems like they are priced higher then competitive mp3 players that have same capacity and do the same stuff. I understand that as the market leaders right now they can price them how they want...but it seems like there are cheaper alternatives on the market that basically have all the same features. It seems like I'm always hearing about people having problems with their iPods as well. Personally, like I mentioned earlier, I received a Creative Zen Xtra 30GB for Christmas and love it...sure, it's a little bigger than Apple's player, but it has awesome sound quality, more than enough storage space for me, and is easy to use. And what's with this new iShuffle thing? (I think that's what it's called)...it's this little "stick" iPod with no menu screen...I think it stores like 200 songs...seems like a ripoff to me for 99 bucks. But people will buy them just because they're a cheaper version of the iPod. Sorry for the long post...as an aside, I think that new mini Mac looks really damn sweet for $499.
