Jesse Badass 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 I heard that a Wrestlemania DVD set was coming out. Is this true?
GreatWhiteNope 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 No, although Wrestlemanias I-IV have already been released to DVD in the UK.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 13, 2005 I wouldn't worry about it. Even if they did, who in their right mind would by a DVD set that could possible be anywhere between 10 and 20 discs? No average joe fan would buy it because of an obvious high retail price... plus WM's 15-18 are going to be Blurramania, and are already on DVD (along with 19 and 20 of course). res37618 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 I love it . . . this topic comes up about once every six months or so . . . . I think it may be feasible for Vince to start releasing the WrestleManias one at a time, in the same fashion he's been re-releasing the older Coliseum Videos as inexpensive DVD's. That is possible, but I don't know if a full-fledged box set is something we'll see anytime soon.

They've done the first 6 WMs so far, adn several other PPVs like KOTR and Rumble etc

Guest TroughOfMantaur Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Blurs on the attitude era events I won't mind. What I WILL mind is the fact that any WM with Jesse commentary will have his comments edited completely out because Vince is too cheap to settle up with him. Gorilla talking to a phantom broadcast partner who never replies for hours straight would be intolerable. If you want an example of Vince's stubborness when it comes to paying Jesse for DVD royalties, watch the Vader/Cactus match from the Foley set....it's downright strange hearing Schiavone having a 2 way conversation with no one. Vince and Jesse seem to be on good terms now, so I say it's time they hash out a deal on royalties....that lawsuit between them was a long time ago.
MARTYEWR 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 I'm wondering how well a lot of the old WrestleManias will be edited. Forget the blurring, what about any verbal mention of "WWF". I just watched Austin-Rock from WrestleMania X-Seven a short while ago and I lost count of the number of times JR and Heyman said "WWF".

It was never officially announced - that match list which circulated a few months back was fake.
spman 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Im sure the reason why much of this stuff hasn't been released in the licensing issues. Once Vince comes to a settlement with Marvel and the Panda group, then we'll likely see all this stuff come out.

Actually, I think that Jesse's commentary on WWF footage was handled by the lawsuit. It is his commentary from WCW that Vince is scared of getting sued over. Considering Jesse's commentary is on the Hogan DVD as well as a few otehrs I don't think that a release of WMs on DVD would be a problem. The blurring also wouldn't be a problem for me as I already have 15-20 on DVD. I'd love to have 1-14 and 14 would have minimal blurring as they hadn't quite made the full switch over to the scratch logo by then. The turnbuckles and WM logo were still the block lettering. Guest CronoT Report post Posted January 13, 2005 I'm willing to bet all the WrestleMania's will be on the new WWE 24/7 OnDemand channel. Just get satellite or digital cable, and there you go.
spman 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 I'm willing to bet all the WrestleMania's will be on the new WWE 24/7 OnDemand channel. Just get satellite or digital cable, and there you go. Except for the minor setback that no one gets WWE 24/7 yet, and no cable companioes are particularly hurried in the effort to add it.
Guest CronoT Report post Posted January 13, 2005 From what I understand, Time-Warner Cable and DirecTV are going to be carrying it.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Jesse Ventura agreement: Anything WCW not allowed. WWF stuff never previously put on video not allowed. His Wrestlemania broadcasting will not be edited out sicne they have been released multiple times on tape over the years.
Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 They should probably start releasing them in fives. It'd probably be easier on the fan's wallets and a yearly release around the holidays would help them really clean up in sales.

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2005 hey I paid 149 bucks for the legacy wm box set on vhs (wm 1-14) so hey im up for anything lol and wm 1 would also have to do alot of editing out wwf and theme songs like JYDS another one bites the dust, us express's born in the usa, wendi richthers girls just want to have fun (really they eidited it out during a confidential from the vault segemnt awhile back) plus hogans eye of the tiger, although ironically all the songs are kept intact on the legacy box set mentioned above

Interviews, buildup to matches, audicommentaries etc. It would at least be favourable to the old VHS tapes lying around.
reign 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2005 Are the DVDs for Mania 17 and 18 hard to find? I've heard that they are or they're expensive or something but I've never really looked. I guess I could since it's only a click away....
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2005 WM 2000 and WM X-7 are tough to find. Even though 18 is OOP, it's not really in high demand.
reign 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2005 Just checked Amazon and JEEZ are those two expensive! WTF...like $50 a piece...I just want them for TLC and Heymans commentary and Rock/Hogan and Austin/Hall...anybody think that they're worth the cash?
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 15, 2005 Considering the PPV's only cost $35-40, hell no. Just live with a PPV copy on a VHS. Same thing, and unedited.
Guest mynameisdane Report post Posted January 15, 2005 I don't quite understand the conversion rates. If Amazon international has WM 3 and 4 for 18.99 (Pounds) would I be paying much more or much less in $'s?
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 15, 2005 If my thinking is accurate, 1 pound is $1.35-$1.40 give or take. For example, a $5 American magazine is somewhere near the 3 pound mark.
