Damn, I forgot about the awesomeness that was the early 80s martial arts fest known as

KILL OR BE KILLED & KILL AND KILL AGAIN

Troma movies are awesome, remember the one with the plane crash on the island...

Did "killer clowns from outer space" come out in the 80's? If so, I nominate that whole heartedly.

Also, I never really considered Goonies and the Lost Boys to be 80's flicks. They transcended the inherent cheesyness of the decade and moved to the next level of movies. Ones written by the gods.

Dude, I swear I used to watch Three O'Clock high practically every week on HBO back in the late 80s. Whatever became of that movie anyway? My god, to me it's up there with Heathers in terms of dark HS flicks but nobody seems to give a shit about it.

Oh, The Wizard is funny as hell when viewed today. It has all sorts of nostalgia value, like the heel kid who uses the Power Glove to beat Rad Racer and is like "I love this thing, it's so choice." One of the movies where the blatant product placements actually HELP a great deal. And yes, I too wonder about the warp whistle. How the hell could the retard kid know where it was when no one had ever played the game before and there were no cheat tips out yet? I don't exactly think on your first time playing Mario 3 you would think of running up the P meter, then flying above the screen to a secret room and finding the warp whistle. I remember playing Mario 3 for the first time on those 10 min. arcade games (the ones that had 5 titles or something)...hell I did better than that retard did. At least I didn't die on fucking World 1....my time ran out, haha.

Which is sad... because the movie is so underrated.

Can't Buy Me Love

Motel Hell

I remember Can't Buy Me Love for the speech Patrick Dempsey gives at the end telling the jocks, geeks and everybody else to be cool to each other.

Motel Hell is worth checking out for horror fans. Not gory really but it's a film you'll remember.

Here's a few........

After Hours - Excellent black comedy and definately one of Scorcese's more forgotten efforts. Better than a certain film that just got 11 oscar shouts IMO.

Vigilante - If you like Death Wish style films with a few dodgy moments of exploitation style violence then this one's for you. The presence of Robert Forster and Fred Williamson might give you an idea of where this is pitched.

Deadbeat At Dawn - Probably one of the more notorious low (that's VERY low) budget street gang films. Decapitations, eye-gouging and all manner of weapons and crazy legit stunts.

Cry-Baby - Johnny Depp, Riki Lake and Traci Lords in the same film??

Bad Taste - Most of you have probably at least heard of this if not seen it if you're into horror or gory stuff. See Peter Jackson before he got fat and rich.

Maniac

Parents

Repo Man

How about

The Intruder (suprisingly effective and atmospheric slasher)

Brain Damage (From the director of "Basket Case" comes a tale of a deadly parasite that talks, sings, eats brains, and injects it's host with a euphoric hallucinogen)

Not a single mention for "Real Genius"?

Val Kilmer, William Atherton, a bunch of guys who I never saw in another film since. It's criminal the DVD is bare bones.

I mean, genius teens accidentally build a high powered laser their teacher is selling to the millitary, only to turn it against him so his dream house can be destroyed by a bunch of popcorn.

"I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates when he said, 'I drank what?'"
