George Karl's undefeated run with the Nuggets comes to a close, Portland picking up the win 97-94, if the Blazers can manage to combine a healthy Randolph & Miles with their suddenly good backcourt of Stoudamire & Van Exel they could have something, though i have no idea where Abdur-Rahim fits, especially with Przybilla actually looking like a competant Basketball player lately.

Meanwhile Derek Anderson sits out another game with Dental Pain, that must be one hell of a toothache.

Yeah, he had the flu all last week and I believe a sprained foot took him out like 1 quarter into the game before last. He still has those "Oh God, what the fuck are you doing?" moments, but he's drastically improved this year.

Indeed. I don't want it to seem like I'm not giving him his due, but he was tearing it up last year as well, and then the Eastern finals came and he didn't do too well. Although in his defense he was playing with a partially torn hamstring, and he just couldn't handle that kind of pressure.

Well that elusive 3 game winning streak will probably have to wait for another day. A head coach-less, Kobe-less Lakers have managed to go and match their season long winning streak (2 games) and now we've got San Antonio at Staples tommorrow night.

On a sidenote, I'm really happy I'll be busy working tommorrow night. There was an article posted in another thread about Jerry Buss thinking about bring Jackson back and that he was intrigued by the possibility of coming back and coaching the team. Anyone here think it'd really make much of a difference? I think the triangle would look a lot uglier with the roster the Lakers have now compared to the last few years.

I'd agree that the Spurs are probably the best team in the league, but they've got some horrible match up problems with a healthy Sonics team. I sitll wouldn't bet against them, but Seattle can very much beat San Antonio in a 7 game series. Phoenix, I don't think so, they'd wear out Nash with Parker, but Seattle should get more credit in that match up than they do.

Its the Reggie Evans/Danny Fortson/Jerome James (I am missing a guy...Pota-somethingorother. ) that they can throw at Duncan down low and the fact that Radmanovic can stretch the floor, Bruce Bowen is Rashard Lewis's Bitch, and Manu Ginobli is not that great of a defender on Ray Allen, and luke and Antonio Daniels are better defenders than they are given credit and can stay infrount of parker.

I don't think the Sonics could take the Suns in a 7 game series, but I think they could take the spurs. I don't think the Suns can take the Spurs in a 7 game series though.

Its all going to come down to playoff positioning.

Derek Anderson had a root canal, and then developed a sinus infection as a result and it looks like he has to have another oral surgery to correct that.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want the guy out there right now, root canals and sinus infections are probably pretty distracting when you're trying to play a sport, there's no way he's going to have his head in the game 100%

They also got Nick Collison who's a capable player and fairly athletic, I'd have him as my 4th body on Duncan instead of Potapenko.

Oh and don't forget Flip Murray. He doesn't get minutes unless Allen or Lewis is out, but he's still a guy they've got over there if they need him. He's instant offense if he gets the minutes and could contribute to the "Make Tony Parker's life hell" cause with Ridnour and Daniels.

At this point if I were the Blazers I would trade Andersen for Allen Iverson's socks and a bag of nickels. He's been such a dissapointment ever since he came to Portland. The guy is always hurt.

Miami/Cleveland was fun, with Lebron James sacrificing Damon Jones to the basketball Gods with one of those "You will see this in my retrosepctive career package in 15 years" dunks. Just vicious.

Yeah, it was pretty disgusting. But, Jones' team still won.

Yeah, Cleveland is king of the middle of the road teams, but not ready to compete with anyone even coming close to approaching a "good" team. Still need a scoring shooting guard.

Oh and San Antonio is flogging the Lakers as we speak.

Hey guess what Kobe's not playing.

Shame this game is turning out just like the Sonics game. Close up until the 3rd quarter was starting to draw to a close then San Antonio is just slicing and dicing their way to an enormous lead. Not like I didn't expect it, though.

We have it from someone who should know that the barely reported verbal tiff between Steph and Kurt Thomas on the Knicks bench during a timeout Friday night went down something like this. It started apparently because Kurt was pissed off at Steph for either  dribbling too much or taking a bad shot on a recent possession, and saying so to Steph.

Steph:  "F**k you man."

Kurt: "F**k YOU. Everyone in this organization is afraid of you, but I'm not, and I will beat your a**."

And then they had to be separated like they were Roy Williams and Khalid. Your move, Isiah.

Oh no he di’int.  Man, those Knicks are just falling apart, aren’t they?  I enjoyed their 61-point showing in Detroit, which came right after they were lucky to escape with a win in that LeBron-less Cavs game.

Uh...damn.
