cameron chaos Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 I still wanna see New Jack on RAW staple gunning everyone in sight. According to Power Slam magazine over here in the UK, talks with New Jack broke down after he blew the whole deal by announcing it on some shitty indy fed card. He was meant to be brought in as the real guy that stabbed Cena but that was tanked.
Guest Trivia247 Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 so who are the ones we have in rumor or confirmation that the WWE have signed on for the ECW PPV?

Enigma Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 That doesn't make sense. Rey Mysterio announced at an indy show that he was coming to WWE about 4 months before he debuted, and WWE didn't have a problem with it at all.
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Rey Mysterio probably had a job lined up the second Vince bought WCW, but wanted to wait until he was 100% healed up to come in. At least thats what everyone says.
Guest Trivia247 Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 there must be some differences between New Jack and rey rey negotiation wise. Perhaps New Jack was the one desperate for the job and Rey was the commodity that the WWE was looking to secure.
spman Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 All I want to see is Roadkill the Angry Amish Warrior, and I'll be happy.
Corey_Lazarus Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 ROARING ELBOW~!!~!~ TORNADO DDT ON THE STEEL CHAIRS!~!~!~!~! WARRIOR SPIRIT NO-SELL OF SICK GERMAN SUPLEX~!~!~!!~!~!~ ...I <3 Tanaka. This little piece of news just made me buy the show.
BoboBrazil Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 It might actually be a good idea if TNA let all the guys be at the ECW ppv just for the fact that it gives the wrestlers they have more exposure. This ECW ppv will most likely do atleast 100,000 buys, plus the buildup they would get on WWE tv.
dpac Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Personally I don't think you do a show like this unless you have Raven, Funk, Sandman and Sabu, but they will anyways. So is this our list so far: under WWE contract Dudley's Dreamer Tazz Richards Guido Tajari Rhyno Storm RVD (hurt) Benoit Jericho Guerro Malenko Mysterio one night only Credible Axl Tanaka Jason Balls Mamaluke
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 I heard Tracy Smothers signed up for the show as well.
Sass Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 The WWE needs to bring in Sabu. He could use a nice pay day from this PPV. He was ECW when the promotion went from Eddie Gilbert to Todd Gordon/Paul Heyman. He was their franchise wrestler. Signing Tanaka should be a long-term deal. He'd take the contract, anyone from Japan would if the WWE came calling. Push him hard and give the Japanese fans someone they can actually cheer for and not feel like retards. The WWE has never booked a strong (i.e. ching chang chong choppee choppee peepee) Asian worker, aside from Tajiri whose career has been on the skids since his wife had a miscarriage in '03. He's never been the same since. Masato Tanaka is probably 5'9"ish legit, which would make him about as tall as Benoit, Jericho and Guerrero by an inch or couple so he wouldn't look too out of place standing next to guys like them. This is a guy the company should retain after the PPV. Just don't book him like some Jap joke.

Guest Trivia247 Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Joey Styles going to a WWE event? after all the shit he said about the WWF over the years in ECW... Heh imagine him getting Ganged up in some back office by JR and Lawler for the pot shots he took.
Corey_Lazarus Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 And then imagine the lawsuit, and the breaking news on 1wrestling. I agree with Bobo. TNA would be wise to send their former ECW stars to this show, as it WOULD garner them more exposure. Hell, even put it into the contracts that whoever's doing commentary NEEDS to comment on the fact that TNA-wrestlers on the show WORK for TNA. Hell, asking for some publicity instead of an enormous fee, or just not doing it at all? Sounds like a good deal to me.
Dangerous A Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 People suggesting Sabu be there may need to be reminded that last time people saw him he was tipping the scales at around 160 ibs. He has lost a ton of weight from his hospital stay and is either finished in wrestling or a good 1-2 years from a comeback.
Kardo Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 If they want to protect people they should do a tag like RVD/Sabu/Taz /w Fonzie vs. The Dudleys and Tommy Dreamer /w Gertner
Corey_Lazarus Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 That would be pretty anti-ECW, and would piss off the Mutants. Why? Dreamer and the Dudleyz have NEVER gotten along story-wise, and remember who broke Beulah's neck? Buh Buh Ray and D-Von. RVD and Sabu split paths in late 1999/early 2000 when it became apparent to Sabu that Fonzie was favoring Rob. RVD and Taz never got along, even in Fonzie's Triple Threat (which lasted all of...a month, if that). Sabu and Taz? The feud that was such a big part of ECW that it headlined their first PPV? Yeah. Them teaming makes sense. If they want to do a tag main event to not have anybody's heat taken away, make it, like, Masato Tanaka/Chris Benoit vs. Tajiri/Eddie Guerrero, or something. Though I'd greatly prefer the main event to feature Tommy Dreamer in some capacity, as he WAS ECW.
Guest Mordecai's Cathedral Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 If they want to do a tag main event to not have anybody's heat taken away, make it, like, Masato Tanaka/Chris Benoit vs. Tajiri/Eddie Guerrero, or something Make it so!
LessonInMachismo Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Dreamer and the Dudleyz have NEVER gotten along story-wise, and remember who broke Beulah's neck? Buh Buh Ray and D-Von. And in the first regular ECW on TNN, didn't they reveal that they raped her in her hospital bed? As an aside, do you think they will do something similar to Wrestlemania Rewinds to promote the PPV? Chances are, 95% of WWE fans haven't even heard of Masato Tanaka...they could show clips of him wrestling Taz (since Tazz is a face WWE fans know). Even the ECW guys that WWE fans do know could be shown doing ECW stuff. Hell, it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to go so far as to show some clips of matches on Velocity and Heat.
NoCalMike Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Question: Are they going to be wrestling non-WWE style in a smaller ring, or is it just going to be a WWE show with ECW banners and a bunch of different guys wrestling? I know this was probably asked before, but I figured maybe more information has come out by now. Also, when will promotion for this show begin? I know right now it would not be wise to advertise an "ECW" show, while promoting WM, but June isn't THAT far away.
Guest Trivia247 Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 As long as they don't give Axl the Mic at all the WWE will be fine... First F-Bomb comes out and gets beeped then his entire rant will be Beeped out. then Ian Rotten will come out of no where and we will have a Taipei Deathmatch with barbwire Bat and broken glass brawl up and down the stands, until someone actually hits a wrestling move and amazingly enough that stops the slaughter
The C Man Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 don't forget Nova Nova invented memory loss.
