I remember a story during Zach Gowen's first few weeks in WWE, Meltzer said Gowen and a bunch of the other wrestlers went out to eat after SmackDown! Apparently, Gowen was acting like a supreme, stuck-up asshole to everyone in the restaurant and when he didn't get his food on time, he screamed at the waiter, "Do you know who I am? I'm a WWE superstar!"

 

Glad to see David Bautista doesn't feel the need to remind people who he is like that idiot Gowen.

Considering how much JR pounds into people's heads that the latest hoss brought up on the roster is 20-something, it's easy to forget Dave's in his 30's.

 

This brings to mind Cena buying one of those expensive throwbacks for a kid a while back. That was class, and I don't even like to watch his matches.

 

Wasn't there a story about Brock getting into a fender-bender with somebody a while back, paying all the damages plus extra?

I think Brock got pissed and scared the guys kids big time and felt bad.

 

Also for Gowen flipping out, dude's got one leg and isn't intimidating at all. He probably felt he had to act the superstar role. But Batista? When your that huge and pimped out, you don't need to brag, people will look at him and think, "WOW THAT GUY IS JACKED!" He doesn't need to jump around yelling he's on tv to get a reaction. Although for Gowen maybe jump isn't the right word...

I remember an interview he had, where he said he had to be "toughened up" a bit by the veterans so he didn't get walked over. So I'm not surprised by this at all. It's a really nice story, though. And whoever said that this is how a champion should act outside the ring hit it on the head. This is the kind of guy you want as your standard bearer.

I was at an IWA show last June hanging out afterwords. And Gowen was hanging around acting like such a prick. He was a heel that night...but the show was long over and most of the fans were long gone. I think the guy just is a legit dickhead.
