Pulp Fiction

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just watched Pulp Fiction for the first time the other night. I absolutely loved it, but I didn't get the Bruce Willis part in the middle, where he kills Travolta. Is that supposed to be in the future, like after the ending where they leave the diner or something? Since Sam Jackson wasn't with him, and he talked about giving up "the life" I figured that could be it. Anything to clear this up for me would be very appreciated.

I don't know who's seen it and who hasn't, and what is considered a 'spoiler' and what isnt, so I threw those tags up just in case.

Jules retired so Vincent and Marsallus went to go kill Butch. That part takes place after the diner scene. AD is right- the last scene chronologically is them driving off in the chopper. In Saudi Arabia and UAE, the movie is shown chronologically.

Movies taken out of chronological order must be offensive to them.

The movie starts with Vinnie and Jules going to the apartment where Marvin's at...then the do the bit at Jimmy's house with the car clean up...then the scene at the resturant...then where they get back to see Marsallus...that's pretty much where Jules ends...then it's the date...then the fight...then it's Vinnie getting gunned down.

That's pretty much Vincent's story...I think that's right

Yeah, remember when we first see Bruce Willis? Marcellus is talking to him about throwing the fight, while the hitmen are in their goofy post-cleanup duds.

The story's told in a non-linear format. While most stories follow the exposition -> rising action -> climax -> falling action -> resolution formula, all of Tarantino's films are told in a nonlinear way. Makes it so that you actually have to pay attention.

This thread was a charming example of people repeating information which was already given.

I thought about getting one of those wallets, but I said "Nah, too typical." so I got one that said 'Tight As Fuck' instead. From the same place, though.

Does anyone know what exactly was in the briefcase that Jules and Vincent found in Brad's apartment?

Keep your blasphemous non-sequential story-telling to yourself, imperialist devil!

But the soul is the most intriguing possibility.

So people who cut themselves shaving lose their soul.....that must explain why Goldberg was terrible in the ring.
