Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 I really, really can't wait until my eyes get to view A-Train v. Kensuke Sasaki or Kawada v. Chuck Palumbo.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 Jesus. Jamal, Buchanan AND Palumbo in one block is just brutal. I suppose I'll be happy with a Kojima / Kea v. Suwama / Kawada final.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted March 26, 2005 I'm highly impressed that they managed to make this CC look even worse than last year's.
Sass 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 Having Shinjiro Ohtani, Takao Omori, Masato Tanaka and Kohei Sato would make a world of differnce with the quality of this year's show. BLOCK A: - Satoshi Kojima - Kensuke Sasaki - Takao Omori - Taiyo Kea - Shuji Kondo - Kohei Sato BLOCK B: - Keiji Muto - Toshiaki Kawada - Kohei Suwama - Shinjiro Ohtani - Masato Tanaka - Love Machine Arashi Just make it all natives (plus one Hawaiian) and let the RO&D and Voodoo Murder guys have tag matches on the undercards all the time along with a couple Jr. matches. Mix match the actual matches around with the guys above and you have some potentially entertaing matches compared to the actual ones themselves. The gaijin vs. gaijin matches could be something brutal to watch. Z-1's Fire Festival's have managed to churn out better tournament's than the CC has for a while. SinToxic 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 Results for 2 days. 1 shocker. 4/9/05 1. Champion Carnival - Block A: Shuji Kondo [2] beat Love Machine Arashi [0] (10:33) with a chickenwing hold. 2. Champion Carnival - Block B: Jamal [2] beat Chuck Palumbo [0] (14:27) with the Flying Sausage. 3. Champion Carnival - Block B: Toshiaki Kawada [2] beat Kohei Suwama [0] (3:36) with a Jumping High Kick. 4. Champion Carnival - Block B: Keiji Muto [2] beat Buchanan [0] (9:13) with the Shining Wizard. 5. Champion Carnival - Block A: Kensuke Sasaki [2] beat Satoshi Kojima [0] (29:29) with the Northern Light Bomb. 4/10/05 1. Champion Carnival - Block A: Taiyo Kea [2] beat Love Machine Arashi [0] (4:01) with a horizontal cradle. 2. Champion Carnival - Block B: Buchanan [2] beat Jamal [0] (8:50) with the Iron Bomb. 3. Champion Carnival - Block A: Satoshi Kojima [2] beat Shuji Kondo [2] (15:44) with a lariat. 4. Champion Carnival - Block A: Giant Bernard [2] beat Kensuke Sasaki [2] (7:50) with a Reverse Splash. 5. Champion Carnival - Block B: Keiji Muto [3] drew Toshiaki Kawada [3] (30:00). I like that Muto and Kawada drew. Train winning over Sasaki is something to remember as the years go by, going over Kea now seems destined.
cameron chaos 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Isn't Kojima still the multi title holder? I know Sasaki is a legend in Japan, but shouldn't the fact he went over Kojima when he has all the gold also be considered a bit of a shock?
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Not really. Kojima needs to do a few jobs, to set up some potential title challengers down the line. I'm taking Taiyo Kea to win this year. I took him last year, and I still think he would have taken it, if Kawada hadn't gotten hurt and screwed up the booking.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 It's clearly Chuck Palumbo's tournament to lose.

Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I'm very much HOPING that Kea goes over this year. I'm afraid they'll do something crazy like give it to A-Train. Although I must say, I really dig the name "Voodoo Murders". It's like the best name for a stable EVAR.
Jingus 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I am morbidly curious to see Kawada punting various WWE castoffs. The rest of the tournament can go fuck itself.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted April 18, 2005 The Semi Finals are set. Toshiaki Kawada vs Kensuke Sasaki Satoshi Kojima vs Jamal I think whoever wins Kawada vs Sasaki is going to win the Carnival. Kojima winning doesn't really do anything for future Triple Crown contenders. The only one who would really have a viable challenge for Kojima would be Sasaki, based on his win over Kojima in the league. I personally hope Kawada takes it though. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 18, 2005 Ugh...... this is even worse than when it looked like Mutoh was getting in instead of Jamal. They should've pushed Albert to the semis.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2005 One particular result that caught my attention: 3. Champion Carnival - Block B: Buchanan [5] drew Chuck Palumbo [3] (30:00). I have little desire to see Bull Buchanon and Chuck Palumbo face each other for more than 5 minutes, let alone THIRTY. I can't imagine it being anything other than a trainwreck, yet i'm morbidly curious to see just how they could possibly pull it off.
Guest TheLastBoyscout Report post Posted April 18, 2005 I cannot believe Mutoh jobbed to Chuck Palumbo and Kawada jobbed to Jamal. MAN, is Mutoh serious about getting these guys over or what?
Jingus 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2005 Mutoh seems to have the unerring ability to hire some of the worst guys to ever be fired by the WWE. Do these guys actually draw in Japan? How are All Japan's TV ratings? How've they been doing business-wise since they started pushing the clumsy gaijin?
Guest TheLastBoyscout Report post Posted April 19, 2005 They're actually really cool in Japan. I think both Palumbo and Jamal have been molded into good workers.

The only one who would really have a viable challenge for Kojima would be Sasaki, based on his win over Kojima in the league. I personally hope Kawada takes it though. I'd think a good bit of booking would be to have Sasaki v. Kojima in the finals, with Sasaki going over, to get heat for a Sasaki / Kojima title match. Which Kojima, of course, wins.
