Man, companies must get sick of having to take "number 1 movie in America" off of their commercials every single week.

Nah, it usually goes like this.

"The number one movie in America."

"The number one comedy in America."

"The number one romantic-comedy in America."

"The number one romantic-comedy starring Meg Ryan...in America."

or something along those lines.

The #6 movie can still claim the #1 thriller in America tag line.

Speaking of RT, Sin City is 9-1 fresh right now. Looks promising. I can't wait.

Same here.

Guess Who has been shoved on the advertisments for months.

You know, though, this is why I'm afraid Sin City won't be #1 and "Beauty Shop" will be.

It's because Meatwad is right - don't underestimate how stupid most of the movie-going public is, or their appetite for complete and utter crap.

Have any of you actually seen the movie? I usually stray away from the run-of-the-mill "comedies" that flood the box office throughout the year, but this isn't one of them. It's not hilarious by any means, but it's got several legitimate laugh-out-loud moments and the story manages to run deeper than you'd expect. I think too many of you are writing it off because of Kutcher's participation in the movie, but he actually pulls his part of without a hitch.

Actually I like Kutcher, but the ads to me make it look like just another racial mismatch "comedy"

Funny enough, they're already running ads for his next movie, A Lot Like Love.

I'm writing it out moreso because of Bernie Mac's participation.

And what exactly is wrong with him?

Other than only being able to understand about half of what he says, the awfulness that was Mr. 3000 and is his TV show, and the fact that he is playing a role originally performed by Spencer Tracy, not much really.

And that one "1" was from some fuck at ApolloGuide who doesn't like the film due to violence, unlikable characters, and lack of morals.

The only unlikable characters are uninteresting ones.

Shit... I didn't even realize until this post that Guess Who was a remake of sorts

Shows how much I pay attention

Might wanna clear the wax out of your ears, because I have no problem understanding anything he says. And whoopdeefuckindoo, he's playing a role originally belonging to Spencer Tracy. Yeah, good reason to write it off. And for the record, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner has not aged well at all, so this is one of those rare occassions where I'm not vetoing the idea of a remake.

I like Bernie Mac a lot but in Kings of Comedy I had a lot of trouble understanding him.

Based on the the previews and the trailer it looks like a rip-off of Meet the Parents. I own Meet the Parents on DVD so why go see Guess Who when I can watch that?

And this is coming from someone who really likes both Mac and Kutcher
