dpac 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 This comes from the TNA street team Wrestlemania comes to The Staples Center in Los Angeles April 3rd!!! That's only days away! (Whoa... why am I telling you this?!?) I need volunteers to help us distribute materials to thousands of wrestling fans!!! Form teams of people to go out an permeate the city of L.A. and the Staples Center with TNA's posters, flyers, stickers... anything we can get to you... And not only that! We need you to TELL EVERYONE about TNA! It's really easy. Send me an email to [email protected] with "WMXXI" in the subject line and tell me how many people are going with you, what you're going to do, where you're going to go... all the juicy details! And send me your mailing address so I can send you materials! We'll send you the materials you need, and all you need to do is show up in a crowd of wrestling fans, hand out materials, and let us know how it went! If you send us digital pictures, we'll put them up on the site. And we want to REWARD you for your hard work! We'll send you some combination of the following: Destination X Posters, Lockdown Posters, a t-shirt, badge, stickers... plus we'll tell EVERYONE what you did!!! 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Won't happen. Any sign, poster or anything else will be taken away at the door. They might be able to do it in the parking lot, but they won't find their way inside.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Who gives a shit about posters and stickers? I'd do it for DVDs (assuming I lived in Cali), but not crap like that.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Learn what an invasion is. This is no different then if a Starbucks across the street handed out flyers. It's using a large crowd gathering and using cheap and basically free advertisment. I assure you that 98% of those flyers get discarded anyways.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Damn, and I thought Jeff Jarret was going to attack people with guitars.....
Richard 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Well seeing as they have most of DX on the roster, might as well do another invasion.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 28, 2005 knowing tna's idiocy, they'd invade the L.A Sports Arena instead.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Heck, NCW (my company) is doing the same thing. I've already hired someone to advert for us outside the arena (and I'm trying to find people to do the same inside during the show). We aren't exactly 'invading,' just blatantly shilling for ourselves.

slimm44 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 I've been a part of the 'invasion' at previous WWE events and it is just a bunch of people hanging out outside and giving away flyers and posters. Nothing illegal or 'riot-like'

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Is TNA going to bring cookies and ballons as a peace offering again? If they handed those out, I'd call them smart. Cookies= remembering who gave them to you. It worked for the girl scouts!
Some Guy 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 If they wanted to make a splash then Jarrett and few of their other top guys should have bought front row tickets and made themselves seen. Bringa film crew and show them being dicks and trying to get in backstage and whatnot and then show it the next time they get on Best Damn Sports Show. What they are planning is really stupid. Does anyone really look at the flyers that get handed to them or do they do what I do and drop them in the garbage as I walk by a can? What are they going to prove or accomplish? Guest MikeSC Report post Posted March 28, 2005 If they wanted to make a splash then Jarrett and few of their other top guys should have bought front row tickets and made themselves seen. How would they make themselves seen? The WWE would have few qualms about NOT putting them on the air --- and unless the guys want to be arrested for running into a ring, they really don't have a lot of power here. Bringa film crew and show them being dicks and trying to get in backstage and whatnot and then show it the next time they get on Best Damn Sports Show. Or you could just have a WWE employee ask the question that would be on most fans' minds. Namely "Who the hell are you idiots?" What they are planning is really stupid. Does anyone really look at the flyers that get handed to them or do they do what I do and drop them in the garbage as I walk by a can? What are they going to prove or accomplish? Well, being attention whores made XPW a big success, right? Right? Damn -=Mike ...Yes, TNA is ripping off a fed run by a porn producer...

Does anyone really look at the flyers that get handed to them or do they do what I do and drop them in the garbage as I walk by a can? What are they going to prove or accomplish? It's worked on the east coast...even if they do throw the fliers away, the word of TNA is still spreading. And they/we hand out posters as well so it's not just paper with Jarrett's face on it. As for what are they going to prove or accomplish...it's self-explanatory If they wanted to make a splash then Jarrett and few of their other top guys should have bought front row tickets and made themselves seen. I'm pretty sure if TNA Wrestlers bought tickets, they wouldn't try to ruin the show to try and spread the name of TNA. TNA does not want to see WWE fail. They want the competition. It's worked on the east coast...even if they do throw the fliers away, the word of TNA is still spreading. Which explains the still stagnant PPV numbers and still not being able to charge money for their shows. That's not exactly solid "spreading TNA". And they/we hand out posters as well so it's not just paper with Jarrett's face on it. As for what are they going to prove or accomplish...it's self-explanatory That TNA can't actually make any inroads in the wrestling world and have resorted to being publicity whores? -=Mike

They've had well over 2 years. It's not that people who want an alternative aren't aware of it. Their problem is that people who want an alternative ARE aware of it. They just don't like it. At all. I don't think they are being 'publicity whores'. There isnt anything wrong with what they are doing Let's pretend they do it. They'll answer with JEFF JARRETT in a ME. Yeah, THAT will wow people. TNA dropped the ball in a major way after their .01 PPV with a bland, at best, show afterwards. Their ability to capitalize on anything is pretty weak. -=Mike

How would they make themselves seen? The WWE would have few qualms about NOT putting them on the air --- and unless the guys want to be arrested for running into a ring, they really don't have a lot of power here. If they have front row seats they'll be seen on the PPV. Vince is not going to have hte steady cam moved to avoid it or destry the camera work suring matches so that Jeff Jarrett isn't seen on his PPV. Bringa film crew and show them being dicks and trying to get in backstage and whatnot and then show it the next time they get on Best Damn Sports Show. Or you could just have a WWE employee ask the question that would be on most fans' minds. Namely "Who the hell are you idiots?" Depending on who showed up many of the TNA would be recognized. JJ, Nash, DDP, Dusty, Road Dogg and a few others would be noticed. Although I doub any of them save JJ would do it because if they have half a brain they'll want to work for Vince again. What they are planning is really stupid. Does anyone really look at the flyers that get handed to them or do they do what I do and drop them in the garbage as I walk by a can? What are they going to prove or accomplish? Well, being attention whores made XPW a big success, right? Right? Damn -=Mike ...Yes, TNA is ripping off a fed run by a porn producer... Showing up at an ECW event and at WM are two totally different things. I don't think either option would be a perticularilly successful or good idea but they are going to do something and I figured that they might as well do somethign that would get them seen. If they ran into the ring and disrupted the PPV Vince would get really pissed amnd sign away all their talent to put them out of business. IF they just showed up in the front row and held signs, he'd be pissed but unlikely to quash them as a result. Besides, I think that Vince wants TNA to suceed. He has been recently quoted as saying that he misses the competition WCW brought.

Boon 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 If they did show up at WM, I'm sure somebody would acknowledge their presence in one way or another. I'd actually like to see Hunter cut a promo making fun of them for being worse then Smackdown.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Actually XPW used to do a similar thing at wwf events in cali. When I went to smackdown at staples in 01 , they had a mess of people handing out fliers (and a few talkign crap). Of course since most of the people there already knew of xpw, it was hradly a success.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 28, 2005 I'd take free posters. If you frame them and hang them on the wall, they don't look that bad. What size are their posters though? I know WWE has badass posters. They're huge too.

Guest Loss Report post Posted March 28, 2005 Talking to people at arenas would *only* work if they had people following WWE from city-to-city. Best case scenario, a few hundred fans may buy the upcoming TNA PPV that wouldn't have before, but it's really useless to concentrate so much effort in one market when you're trying to become a national powerhouse.
