spman 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 I don't know what's worse, the mere thought of this, or the upcoming bastardization of The Honeymooners starring Cedric the Entertainer. Sure, the black community can do this, but what would happen if any white director even made mention of making a Sanford and Son movie starring Will Farrel and George Carlin, or Jim Carrey as Jmmy Walker? The NAACP would be all over it in an instant.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 MuNsters, right? To be honest, all they need is a decent Herman, some stupid jokes, fast motion, and a Mrs. Munster with nice knockers. It's not like the original was that great, and it can't get worse than the TV series revival of it. I'm surprised it took this long, since they already did the Addam's Family *and* a sequel (RIP Raul). The announcement of a new Cedric the Entertainer movie always raises my apathy. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted March 30, 2005 That bitch has some kind of relationship with the Wayanses, as you can tell by In Living Color and the Scary Movie movies. And I happen to like Cedric the Entertainer, but the Wayanses are awful.

JMFabiano524 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2005 Who else sees this being made into yet another cheap racial humor debacle, with the freaky, stupid Munsters being white, while smart, normal Marilyn is some African-American actress? I love double standards, don't you? (I'm not racist, but all this is probable to true) And BTW, Sanford and Son was Caucasian first, as Steptoe and Son in the UK. syxx2001 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Regina Hall is the person you are thinking of sir (I think). Regina King wasnt in any SM or ILC. She was in Poetic Justice, Ray, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate and some other stuff. Most recently Miss Congeneality 2 or whatever. She was also in Boys in the Hood. No, he probaly meant Regina King. Because well, she was in Ray and Miss Congeneality 2. And to most...now, two movies is too much. So yea. Because Regina Hall hasn't been in anything since...well 2003. And after that on IMDB, the only movies listed are King's Ransom, The Honeymooners, and Scary Movie 4, two there aren't really even near release.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 He said Regina King was in Scary Movie and In Living Color. King has NEVER been in a Scary Movie. HALL was. The only black people in SM 1 and 2 (I think), were the Wayans, and Brenda, who was played by Regina HALL. Hall was in Baby Boy and Paid in Full, along with the Scary Movie movies. Ok, sorry, didn't realize you were referring to Vitamin X. I thought it was in response to Raz's comment, which I think he actually did mean Regina King. CBright7831 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 I was always a fan of The Munsters whenI was little, but I don't that will make me go see this movie. On an unrelated note, I noticed that they are making a movie based off book that scared the hell out of me when I was a little child - Where the Wild Things Are! Honestly, a good part doesn't matter what race is playing it. How the fuck is a movie better or worse if the actor playing the part is black or white? Sanford and Son and Goodtimes were sitcoms about black communities struggles....well...Goodtimes was. How the fuck is the Musters or The Honeymooners the same. There is a big difference. If a black guy plays Ronald Regan or George Washington in a movie then bitch on, but until then, quit fucking crying.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2005 What's wrong with Keenan as a director? He's actually passable as a director and nowhere does it say he's going to hire his brothers to play the parts. Hell, he might have just been a huge fan of The Munsters and wanted a chance to direct it for all we know. I'm not happy with the changes done to The Honeymooners, but I don't see a problem with Keenan directing this movie at all. I just have one problem with it. Marlon is writing the script with him. That scares me. A lot.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 I think my problem with Scary Movie 2 is it had so many actors I enjoyed the work of and it was just horrible. I loved the original but the second one was just painfully unfunny. It was more "dammit, dammit, DAMMIT, why am I not laughing?!?!" anger towards the film. The third one wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. At least I found it more enjoyable than part 2, just for the "I just want to tell you both good luck, we're all counting on you" line by Leslie. There is no excuse for a movie with Tim Curry, Richard Moll, David Cross and Chris Elliot not to be hilarious. And I agree, Cross was great. Wasn't a huge fan of Elliott but he did the best he could with a really horrible character. Oh wait, I did laugh once. When James Woods said "FUCK THIS!" That was hilarious. CBright7831 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 Interesting trivia for Scary Movie 2: Marlon Brando was paid $1 million to play Father McFeely in the The Exorcist (1973) spoof at the beginning of the film. He took the money and accepted the role, but got "pneumonia" a few days before shooting his scenes. He dropped out of the project, but was still allowed to keep the money, and was replaced by James Woods. You think after Brando had done this in the past, people would learn not to do this. 1 million wasted.
