Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 Glavine looked awful tonight. And my god, everytime I switch to the Met game, I see two Met runners on base. they've scored only three? wow. Glavine couldn't throw a fucking pitch tonight that was above anyone's knees. At least the Nats won. Wilkerson owned that game.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 Bobby Abreu has started out with a .111 batting average, so expect the WIP morons to be all over him tomorrow... Coming into the season, our rotation was a liability, while our bullpen was our strong suit. Thome and Abreu were big threats, while Lofton was an aging, declining hitter. So of course Lofton delivers the big homer on Monday, Abreu hits poorly, Brett Myers has a fantastic start, and the bullpen implodes. I'm in some bizarro world. Guest Smues Report post Posted April 7, 2005 Kolb isn't looking good out there right now but Altnata's 6th double play of the night has it down to one more out to go.
Guest Smues Report post Posted April 7, 2005 And Atlanta finally wins in the 13th inning. That was one heck of a game. Great defense all around.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 Ryan Dempster as a starter makes me uneasy.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 Dusty must really like him and give him unwarranted playing time as a result. See also: Mark Grudzielanek
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 I'm about to put a pencil through my head so I don't have to listen to the D-Back announcers. They are such homers it's almost unbearable. So is watching Dempster pitch. Here comes the guy who was supposed to be the fifth starter.
strummer 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 After watching the MLB extra innings package this week, I'm now convinced that the Mets have the only announcers in baseball that aren't homers, watching other team's announcers outright cheer their home team is so surreal to me because I've never seen it before. The Braves announcers don't cheer much either, but that's about it.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 Well when you're not a homer, pitchers try to start fights with you on airplanes, and your manager lobbies for you to lose your job.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 I am assuming this thread is covering this first week of baseball. The A's struck back at the Orioles earlier tonight, 9-0. Nick Swisher is looking good and could be a front runner for ROTY. Crosby goes on DL, for how long who knows, hopefully it is short as I am going to a game next week. Also I wonder why Eric Byrnes wasn't playing consider he murders left handed pitching.....

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 7, 2005 Brad Wilkerson has been a fucking beast against the Phillies. The Reds have continued their domination of the Mets so far. I guess the Mets will always suck no matter who they sign.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 7, 2005 The Reds are going to taunt me with another great start before falling apart yet again this year. It is early to say the Mets signings are busts but they should be able to take 1 game from the Reds.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 Kenny Lofton has been a disaster in center field so far. When you play in a field with odd outfield walls, it takes some time to learn the nuances and carooms. Lofton's learning pains have cost the Phillies a handful of runs.
