Mike was NOT the victim of my flaming. The flame wars I had with him were ALWAYS started by a personal insult made by him towards me.

Mike wasn't always bad, but most of the time he was. Whenever he's around, its "Mike and allies vs. somebody" and, contradictory to what many people here have posted, his world view was fairly close to mine and we flamed each other fairly often. Not only was he a jackass, he had all the tact and style of a rampaging bull.

 

People say "Ignore him" well how can you ignore an elephant in a cramped room? First, he would quote enormous articles, or 2 pages of discussion and take up a large chunk of the screen. Not only that, in a lot of threads HE'D DO IT HALF A DOZEN TIMES. You literally couldn't open a thread that mike posted in and go through a page that didn't have mike's comments taking up half the space. He rarely ended posts without an unfunny insult. He kept beating dead horses (see: the 2316345651 posts we have on gay mairrage in CE) like it was his job. He never admitted defeat, not even when it was so obvious to anyone with half a functioning brain that he was wrong.

 

If you want to see classic Mike in action just read this:

That's because that Canada uses more comprehensive statistics than the American UCR (probably because its easier to do that with a far smaller volume of data). The violent crime rate CAN NOT compare with the data given for several reasons.

 

1. Canada uses a different definition for Assault.

2. Canada includes categories that aren't included in the UCR

3. One can't say, based soley on the information provided in the Canadian statistic link and the UCR, that Canada has more crime because the UCR does not include a lot of crimes that the Canadian statistic page shows.

 

By the way, the definition IS relevant if you want to compare the data. If they don't use, at the very least, similar definitions for different categories they're not reporting the same thing, therefore, they can not be compared.

Unless you can definitively prove that removing whatever you wish to remove completely changes the data (simply put, you cannot), then you don't have a leg to stand on.

I kinda figured this would happen after reading his replies in the ECW One Night Stand thread. An argument based on facts can be proven true or false. But, Mike really crossed the line by completely going off on people who had other opinions, which are completely subjective. I'm looking forward to the ECW show more than the past few Wrestlemanias. I have my reasons, others may disagree, but my personal opinion doesn't need to be attacked. He was a pretty smart guy, but lately he really started acting out of line with the attacks on other people's opinions. Oh well...

I see where you're coming from. It's interesting how we live in an era when someone says something we don't want to hear/don't like and all we have to do is click a few buttons and forget about it. No wonder so many of the younger people that I work with have terrible people skills. I have to deal with annoying customers every day and there is no "click button to ban" option.

I think INXS should have been banned simply because he was a PBP, hunger4unger. I mean, it was obvious. When one of the mods did an IP check on hunger, they found out that his name is Kevin Malton. Earlier this year, when INXS started a thread about Owen Hart, he mentioned that he also posted the message on the DVDVR board. His name there? Kevin Malton.
