Quick Question: ANyone experienced with Fandango? I fandango'd my tickets and I am wondering if I can go to the theater a day or so before Ep III and exchange my printed papers for tickets then to avoid the masses doing it in line or with Fandangdo do you HAVE TO WAIT until the night of the show? Thanks.

EDIT: I guess I am calling Regal Cinemas for the answer. B-)

I ordered my tickets on Fandango first day they were up and picked them up about a week ago. Just bring the card you charge the tickets to. They run your card through the reader and the tickets print up. Took me like a minute since I went in the morning when nothing was going on.

Dooku *thinks* he's Palpy's #1 chum, but in fact he gets played by Sidious, which he only realises at the end.

Palpatine = possibly the best Sci-fi villan ever, in terms of genius machinations. :headbang:

Dooku thought Anakin was the first in a "Sith Army" meant to replace the Jedi.

I wonder how much dialogue between Anakin and Palpatine from the book makes it into the movie.

I've used Fandango dozens of times before, but not since I moved to Miami since everything down here is such a disorganized mess that I don't trust pre-ordering tickets unless I'm buying it at the theatre. I have my ticket safe and sound in my wallet that I bought a couple weeks ago when they first went on sale.

So yeah you can probably pick up your ticket at the theatre and would advise you to do it in the future as well.

So I told my dad a few weeks ago that I'd see Star Wars with him when I get back from school. However now that SW is coming up, I REALLY want to see it.

My step-mom is going away next weekend so he was going to see when she was gone. But when I talked to him a few days ago, he asks me if I'd still want to wait to see it with him. And I told him I would, since I first and second episodes with him. I guess you can call it Father and Son bonding.

My point of this is that now that I am thinking about it, I have to wait about an extra week to see the movie. Kind of annoys me.

For any interested, they're devoting TRL to ROTS today at 5pm Eastern on MTV. Good Charlotte is the featured guest though. The things I do as a fan.

It actually still works as a single fight. It tells a story, just as a good wrestling match would, plus there are breaks and extreme suspense. I think someone either here or at TF.N said that when Vader lunges in on Luke out of nowhere during the second sequence that it's a complete embodiment of Vader's power and the Sith style.

Okay, I see your point, probably on the level of HIAC I type of match

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet...another reason to like the Prequel Trilogy...

DUEL OF THE FATES!

Oh, and for those people complaining about changes done to the Star Wars movies...Lucus has, in a way, done changes since the early 80s. Originally, Episode IV: A New Hope didn't have the Episode number or title in its first theatrical release.

Duel of the Fates song "meshed" so well wth the lightsaber battle. The noise of the sabers striking picking up more and more as the battle grew more intense and th orchestra picked up.

Maul Vs. Anakin & Qui Gon > Vader/Luke II for me. Not as cool as Luke/Vader I, tho.

Consider the possibility that the promise of a "Sith Army" was a lie to rationalize why Dooku would go along with Sidious's manipulations of Anakin.

(Sidious also only wanted to recruit Luke to replace Vader...but went along with the idea that Luke would be a powerful ally. Vader proposed the idea of recruiting Luke as an ally, but really wanted them to team up and overthrow Sidious.)

Obviously, Sidious had no reason to want a Sith Army of potential rivals to his power.

It isn't a possibility...it's the way it is. The Sith did away with "armies" for a reason.

Question:

Before the prequels started being made, was it ever known/hinted at that Darth Vader was the Chosen one?

Like, I can recall as a child reading that Darth Vader had to wear the suit because he was burned by lava, so obviously some of his backstory was known prior to the prequels. But was that bit of info ever out there, or was it never mentioned until TPM?

Obviously, the Jedi had given up on the idea that Vader was "the Chosen One" by the time A New Hope rolled around.

"Duel of the Fates" is a bunch of choral crap on top of what would have been a middle-of-the-road piece were it in the original films. Way too fucking much vocal accompaniment in the prequel music, and it's hacked, edited, and recycled beyond repair. The originals head nearly seamless music, and only two cases of recycling music that I can think of. Even stuff that was meant to be a replay of previously composed music was given a different performance, to where you could tell the difference were you to listen to them back-to-back (ie. the Sail Barge fight and the first TIE fighter attack on the Millenium Falcon). I also hear (but don't know for myself) that the music is toned down a little in the DVD of the original trilogy. It's definitely toned down in the prequels. When I listen to the prequel soundtracks, I know what's actually happening during the music maybe 50% of the time. Listening to the originals' soundtracks and the prequels' in comparison has them blowing the later stuff out of the water as well.

Well, yeah, but that doesn't mean they can't mention it.

It just seems to me, from watching the OT, that Darth Vader was just another Jedi who happened to turn and kick some ass. They don't really mention the fact (to the best of my knowledge) that Vader was, at one point, the most powerful Jedi of all, or that there was anything special about him at all, from what I recall.

But anyway....does that mean that Lucas never mentioned any of this chosen one business until TPM?

If anyone cares Ebert & Roeper gave the film 2 thumbs up, they review the film on this week's show.

So who was the chosen one?

Luke or Vader?

Technically Vader took out Palpatine. so he destroyed the sith. not luke.

besides Luke was a pussy.

Maybe i'm lost on the whole concept of "chosen one"

But then again, without Luke, Vader wouldn't have destroyed Palpatine.

Hell, Luke's presence on that death star caused the deaths of both Palpatine and Vader.

Yeah, well then you can make the argument that Han is the chosen one, b/c w/o his presence at Death Star I Luke wouldn't have gotten that shot off, or that Lando is the chosen one b/c w/o his presence at Jabba's Palace, Boba Fett would've shot Luke.

Just because he was there, doesn't mean he was the one.

I'm of the school of thought that Anakin/Vader is the chosen one, b/c he committed the act that brought balance to the force.

Ya i think it was Anakin/Vader too.

It pisses me off that this is the last Star Wars movie. I want the last 3 to be made....but i know they would suck sooooooo bad. Plus with no Sith...there really is no place to go after ROTJ.

God no, my friend Ian has told me all sorts of stuff about the post ROTJ books. It sounded REALLY horrible, stuff like:

Luke does a heel turn and joins the Emperor, who amazingly survived his fall in Jedi.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to see something like that. As far as Chosen Ones go, I have a hard time believing that a guy who turned on his friends and had them all murdered could be considered the Chosen One. It's funny really, it seems like Vader is somehow redeemed for stopping the Emperor finally, yet he oversaw the deaths of all the Jedi (Obi Wan aside), aided in blowing up an entire planet, killed his own men, etc. Would him helping Luke out really excuse all THAT shit?

All two of them....if you don't count the EU.

Well they've said in the movies they don't even know what exactly "bringing balance to the force" entails...I mean, it could be the Jedi's numbers being cut down bringing the number of Jedi to Sith to a more balanced number.

That's from the Dark Horse comics, not the books. And the Emporor didn't survive his fall, he was cloned

In one of the clips available on Ifilm or somewhere else, Yoda says that the prophecy might have been misinterpreted while Mace and Obi-Wan discuss Anakin's trustworthiness.

Guest Reservoir_Kitty

We are totally geeking out for this. This Wednesday, we're marathoning all the movies and the first Clone Wars DVD with a huge group of friends.

Then, next Wednesday, we're seeing the movie. I've tried to stay away from what little spoilers there are, but. Yeah. Too hard to resist seeing pictures and snippets.

I'm pretty excited though, and wanted to express my inner geek.

It's too bad the last 5 (longer) Clone Wars episodes aren't out on DVD yet because they literally lead right in to Episode III. Oh well, that's what torrents are for.

Oh and for the record, my favorite lightsabre fight is Luke/Vader II. I just love the part where Vader reads his mind and starts talking about Leia, then Luke just snaps and beats the shit out of him. The music it plays under that part is so badass.

So now that sabre fights have been thouroughly discussed, what is everyones favorite/star ratings for Space Battles? Oh and the battle of Hoth counts even though it's not space.

My favorite is easily the Battle of Endor.
