Guest Smues Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Link 14-year-old electrocuted after crashing car May 2, 2005 (Lake Villa, Ill.) — Authorities in Lake County say a 14-year-old Lake Villa boy died from electrocution over the weekend after crashing a car, being ejected from it and hitting power lines nearly 50 feet above the ground. Lake County Coroner Richard Keller said Carl Schultz Junior had borrowed a relatives car for a late-night ride. He apparently lost control of the vehicle near an intersection early Saturday morning. Authorities say Schultz was ejected through the cars sun roof, flew into the air and hit the set of power lines. Schultz, who was the only one in the car during the crash, was not wearing a seat belt. No other vehicles were involved. (Copyright 2005 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) Umm, OW? If you needed a reason to wear your seatbelt, there you go.

Ced 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Launched through the sun roof and hitting power lines 50 feet above the ground? Did the cars have a rocket-propelled ejection seat?

Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Didn't he already break his frigging neck from going THROUGH the f'n roof?
Guest Smues Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Didn't he already break his frigging neck from going THROUGH the f'n roof? I'm sure he probably did, but when I think of this I think of the sunroof being open and him flying through it perfectly without touching the roof. I'm sure it didn't actually happen that cleanly, but it makes for a fun visual, especially with some circus music in the background.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Who lets a 14 year old borrow a car for a late night ride? Who lets a 14 yr old borrow their car period? I think in this case, they are are saying borrowed since he's dead. Had he lived, he stole it. God, I know it's wrong to laugh at this...but I can't stop laughing at this. I mean, what did he hit to fling him through the sun roof like a dart into power lines?
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Wile E Coyote put one of those spring traps under the concrete. He saw a blue Ford Festiva going down the road, thought it was his catch, and SPROOOOOIIIINGGGGG, no more Junior.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Something doesn't add up. How could he get electrocuted if he was flying through the air? Don't you need to be grounded to get electrocuted by a power line?
Guest Smues Report post Posted May 3, 2005 I don't know exactly how it works, but wouldn't touching multiple power lines at once do it?
