UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Tonight: Paul London Vs. Akio The Big Show in action (On Saturday night?) Basham Brothers Vs. Nunzio & Funaki Spike Dudley Vs. Mark Jindrak
ChrisMWaters Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Akio is channeling Dusty Rhodes with the polka dots.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted May 8, 2005 Author Report Posted May 8, 2005 Extremely disappointing match.
CanadianChick Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Nice Hurricanrana. Other than that, other than a few funny/fun spots, that was weak in comparison to their other matches. To be fair though, it was quite short.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted May 8, 2005 Author Report Posted May 8, 2005 Akio "catching" London with the knee to the groin when London came off the top came off as awkward and sloppy/botched. No dropsault. No 450. No dancing "cave man" dance. And Akio got basically no offense besides that kick that sent London to the outside. They had some really good Velocity bouts before, but this match had no psychology, no build, NO HEAT, and was bad.
MillenniumMan831 Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 It was underwhelming but still pretty good.
Slickster Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Worst WWE Rewind ever. EDIT: Big Show in a handicap jobber squash? Welcome to Wrestling Challenge c. 1994!
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted May 8, 2005 Author Report Posted May 8, 2005 Nunzio sure sounds a lot like "Lenny" from the Simpsons in this promo.
Slickster Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Funaki should join the FBI; it would be ethnic comedy GOLD.
Guest Fook_Theta Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Unfunny sketch involving english speaking japanese wrestler that kayfabed cannot speak much english. Well the "How you doing?" section was passable.
MillenniumMan831 Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Chuck and Johnny missing?!? Get Lesile Neilson on the case!
Spaceman Spiff Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 I miss Palumbo & Stamboli. Johnny/Nunzio were starting to get pretty over right before they released Johnny.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 So...will this lead to Vito's WWE TV debut? *Remembers a recent Smackdown, Nunzio and Vito lost to Shannon Moore and Frankie Kazarian
ChrisMWaters Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Hey, the Bashams got their jackets back. Wonder why they didn't have them in their last match.
haws bah gawd Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 HOLY MOTHER OF GOD that suplex on the steps was fucking sick by WWE bump standards. I too would like to think WWE is enhancing the Cruiserweight division with the new signings, but we all know theyre just signing "pin balls" for the Big Show.
Silence Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Now, I think Paul London is very good in the ring, as do many others, but is it just me or have his matches ALWAYS been "iffy"? In TNA and WWE, anyway. I thought most of his ROH work was better, and only had a few disappointing matches here and there, but not as much as in TNA and WWE. Very odd, but I guess not having more quality matches in WWE is obvious due to the "style".
Carnival Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 I don't understand why people don't like the Maximos. I have only seen a handful of their matches, but i always thought they were ok. They gotta be better than the bashams or the shane twins.

Well put. I mean if you want to watch spots being hit... there fine. I like a Maximo match or something int he middle of a great wrestling show just to give me something besides the great matches. I mean a match that will just be fun, and you can be like HE FUCKED UP.. kinda thing
Jericholic82 Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 Poor Paul London, he had to sell his fur coat when MNM came around. As for the match, that was probably the worst of the akio/london series.
