ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2005 Hey there. Though I missed most of Raw due to sleeping, I read about a comment Bischoff said on Raw about how he would crush ECW again after the ECW ONS commercial showed. ...I wonder, will this lead to a moment old school ECW fans have waited a long time for, in the form of Eric Bischoff getting his ass handed to him by an ECW wrestler? NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2005 Who knows, but what it does mean is that contrary to previous reports, the ECW PPV will be getting exposure on Raw, and it will be an on-going thing since Bischoff kind of left a cliffhanger ending to what exactly he was going to do........Kind of hilarious that ECW got the biggest pop of the night. Promoter 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2005 ECW vs. RAW actually sounds more intriguing than smackdown vs. raw. I wonder if the ecw ppv does really good if Vince would make ecw replace smackdown. Smackdown has some elements of ecw anyways such as trying to get guys over who never were such as JBL(Justin Credible) and having younger stars like Cena as champion(Tazz). If they can make the ecw ppv feel authentic and if they can somehow morph ecw into smackdown maybe the fans might buy into the brand split more.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2005 Look, they HAD to do some kind of advertising of this PPV. I think what they meant by it not being heavily promoted is that it simply doesn't fit in with whatever storylines they have on Raw (which makes sense). It isn't a storyline driven PPV, it is a bunch of guys who worked for ECW getting together to kick it old school. I'm probably one of the few who agrees with the Hammerstein locale over the ECW Arena. Let's face it, the ECW Arena was a shithole and it looked like something a bunch of hack indie guys would wrestle in. The Hammerstein looked like a small venue but it had some amount of class. Eclipse 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2005 I wonder if the WWE will handle that correctly. I would love to see RAW vs. ECW, but then again, it's no use doing that if the ECW thing is for one night only...
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2005 If the ECW PPV draws huge numbers, and makes a good profit, they may do something with the ECW Guys, instead of just leaving them in their current roles. Say Simon Dean (Nova) gets a huge ass pop on the ppv, is there any chance he'd be marketed as Nova in WWE instead?
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2005 If the ECW PPV gets a good number, there is every chance that the contracted guys who worked it will get buried out of jealousy, over doing too good.
Guest JMA Report post Posted May 10, 2005 Smackdown would NEVER get replaced by an ECW show. For one thing, the UPN censors are real pussies when it comes to violence and sexual content.

No wonder they call you god. And they guys in the show not under contract will get black balled. That'll show'em right Vince?

It's not like WWE hasn't brought in guys before just to bury them.
cynicalprofit 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2005 I wonder if we'll get treated to some M-Pro guys. THAT would be freaking sweet and get us atleast one good match on the show no matter what.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2005 Probably not. There are already enough guys on the show without them bringing in a bunch of wrestlers who hardly anybody associates with ECW. On another note, I'm sure at least one person is going to get a WWE deal due to this show. These guys are going to be bringing their A-game hoping to get noticed, and someone is bound to impress. natey2k4 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2005 God, they need Chris Chetti at this show.. he's about one of the only ECW Guys not under WWE Contract that I really would care to see wrestle in WWE. His physique probably isn't good enough I guess?
Scroby 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2005 [WWE Logic]But Steph owns ECW goddamnit! If she's not there how can it possibly be legit!?[/WWE Logic] You know, honesty, if the old ECW hardcore fans are there, I say bring her ass out. Hopefully they make her the most shit and I seriously hope they make her cry. If the ECW PPV draws huge numbers, and makes a good profit, they may do something with the ECW Guys, instead of just leaving them in their current roles. Say Simon Dean (Nova) gets a huge ass pop on the ppv, is there any chance he'd be marketed as Nova in WWE instead? I sorta wish everytime that Simon Dean came out, the fans would chant "We want Nova!" at him. Just to see what would happen.
