EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 I for one did not see Giambi falling has fast as he has. So saying the Giambi signing was a mistake, is too much hindsight at this point. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, but in retrospect, it was pretty stupid to spend over $100 Million to sign a player at a position that did not need to be filled.
mike546 Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Well, Tino had a pretty rapid downfall his first two seaons in St. Louis. Or do you think those were flukes?

Or do you think those were flukes? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was referring to Johnson as the first baseman. Martinez really was not that bad in St. Louis. Look at his OPS+ trend. 110, 86, 115 in New York his last three seasons there. He moves to St. Louis where he posts figures 108 and 106. He declined, but that had every indication of a normal aging curve. Now he moves into a park where left handed hitters thrive, and his stock is up again. To be fair, Martinez deserves all the credit for his recent success. I never saw it coming.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Yanks win in 10, 4-3. 1 game over .500 now at 28-27. Yeesh.

Fuzzy Dunlop Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 I think the Cubs' awful start is officially a thing of the past now. Eight out of nine, and with Big Z going tomorrow.
Vern Gagne Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Yankee fans will be happy to know Shannon Stewart is out of the starting lineup, so the Twins if possible have an even worse starting nine.
mike546 Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Joe Torre is on crack today, leaving Brown in way too fucking long.
mike546 Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Two on and no out with A-Rod, Giambi and Posada coming up and we can't score. Ugh. edit: Again, I usually don't get angry at Joe for anything, but when Sturtze, Gordon and Mo combined haven't given up a run in their last total 24 appearances, YOU USE THEM when your starter is obviously gassed.
Mik Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Picked a good week to go away for a bit. 1-6 against the Pirates and Nationals? Go Marlins.
treble Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Man, the Jays horrible road trip continues, as they are being slaughtered by Oakland. 12-0 in the 3rd. Man.
the max Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 Red Sox take 2/3 from Anaheim. Would have been a sweep had the pen not blown up yesterday. Miller looked ok, not sharp at all. A lot of first pitch balls didn't help him either, since he was pitching from behind in the count for a while. Off to St. Louis for the World Series rematch and onto Chicago for the perennial losers series. Wakefield v. Morris on tuesday.
Guest Brian Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 NL East is some crazy shit. Frank Thomas hit his first homer of the season!!!
ISportsFan Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 But the homer for Frank ends up meaning nothing when Hermanson walks two straight, and both score after an error and a sacrifice fly (which would have been the third out if the error did not happen).
Guest Brian Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Diaz tatooed one to center. The Mets should think about moving Floyd to first, just so they can get the other three in the outfield (Beltran, Cameron, Diaz).
Big McLargeHuge Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 This season has been absolutely humiliating for this Giants fan. Fuck this team. And fuck management for trying to feed fans the notion that we were going to contend.

razazteca Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 that guy is sitting out the year due to his *cough* injuries *cough* unofficial suspension for roids *cough*
Big McLargeHuge Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Barry won't make a difference unless he can pitch 8 scoreless innings every fifth day or come out of the pen. Though he might be better than the talentless hacks we've got already.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Still love your Mets... even though i'm seemingly bashing you with this link I have below my images.
