Well, Tino had a pretty rapid downfall his first two seaons in St. Louis. Or do you think those were flukes?

I was referring to Johnson as the first baseman. Martinez really was not that bad in St. Louis. Look at his OPS+ trend. 110, 86, 115 in New York his last three seasons there. He moves to St. Louis where he posts figures 108 and 106. He declined, but that had every indication of a normal aging curve. Now he moves into a park where left handed hitters thrive, and his stock is up again. To be fair, Martinez deserves all the credit for his recent success. I never saw it coming.

Well, he actually hasn't done a damn thing since his week of glory, but I'll take that week as enough.

Two on and no out with A-Rod, Giambi and Posada coming up and we can't score. Ugh.

edit: Again, I usually don't get angry at Joe for anything, but when Sturtze, Gordon and Mo combined haven't given up a run in their last total 24 appearances, YOU USE THEM when your starter is obviously gassed.

Red Sox take 2/3 from Anaheim. Would have been a sweep had the pen not blown up yesterday.

Miller looked ok, not sharp at all. A lot of first pitch balls didn't help him either, since he was pitching from behind in the count for a while.

Off to St. Louis for the World Series rematch and onto Chicago for the perennial losers series. Wakefield v. Morris on tuesday.

NL East is some crazy shit.

Frank Thomas hit his first homer of the season!!! :D

But the homer for Frank ends up meaning nothing when Hermanson walks two straight, and both score after an error and a sacrifice fly (which would have been the third out if the error did not happen).

Diaz tatooed one to center. The Mets should think about moving Floyd to first, just so they can get the other three in the outfield (Beltran, Cameron, Diaz).

This season has been absolutely humiliating for this Giants fan. Fuck this team. And fuck management for trying to feed fans the notion that we were going to contend.

Well I don't know, aren't they missing that guy? Whats his name again?

Still love your Mets... even though i'm seemingly bashing you with this link I have below my images.

I don't think Floyd wants to move back to first (he got badly injured there years ago when he was with Montreal the first time)....I've been hearing rumors of the Mets trying to get Lyle Overbay from the Brewers (possibly involving Diaz)
