Guest Brian Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Between all the international stars and the working man's vibe (coming out of Detroit, mind you) they should be able to market this easily. There are alot of great personalities out there and a ton of intensity. It's a shame the first four games were so lopsided. I expect a close game 7, but I think the Pistons can pull it off. Shit, if they came into this series on equal rest, the Pistons may have had their rings by now.
Crimson Platypus Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Great game last night, with the Pistons hanging on to win another tough game (at least we've had two anyway). A couple things: 1. Rip gets slapped in the face, completely pulling off his face shield - no foul called. Seriously what the hell is up with the refs? Bowen grabs, slaps, clutches and shoves him all game, and somehow they miss his smacking Rip in the face? It's not like it was away from the ball, RIP HAD THE BALL. 2. What was the technical foul called on the Pistons bench in the second quarter? I couldn't tell what they were calling?
Ripper Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 The out of bounds call had already been made. The face slapping came after that.
Crimson Platypus Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 So it's okay to slap someone in the face if the whistle has been blown?
Ripper Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 They can't call a foul on a dead play. I mean if they were calling a flagrant then yeah, they can call that, but they can't call a foul.
Crimson Platypus Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Well he did slap his face shield off of his face after the whistle, if that's not flagrant I don't know what is.
Ripper Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Bah...he was going for the ball. I don't even like Bruce Bowen and and that was the case. I do hate how he keeps undercutting jump shooters forcing them to try and avoid landing on him and getting injured. that has got to be a called as a foul the same way face guarding is, as while there is no contact, it is a dangerous tactic. Hell, he ended one of Vince Carters seasons like that.

Even if he was going for the ball he still hit him in the face man. I don't get why you're okay with that?
Guest Brian Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Shit, I saw Horry kick at a player and it didn't get called. That's some pussy-shit fouling.

I mean, its like when a guy gets bumped, and they call the foul and he gets fouled again on the continuation. Alot of time the second foul is harder/worse, but you don't call the second guy for a foul too. A dead play is a dead play and shit like that happens all the time. I can understand a wack to the face while trying to go for the ball. I can not accept trying to take out a guys legs on a jump shot. There is a reason so many sprained ankles happen to the guys that Bowen plays D on. Its just dirty Basketball and someone needs to punch him in the fucking face one time.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 2. What was the technical foul called on the Pistons bench in the second quarter? I couldn't tell what they were calling? I think that was the Larry Brown tech, was Sheed in the picture when they showed it being called?

Dangerous A Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 A lot of things hinging on this game. -If the Spurs lose this, Duncan is the one who will take the most heat, as he should since he is the face of the franchise. The Spurs winning or losing this game is going to really make or break their potential legacy. With a win, they start talk of a mini dynasty that could turn into a full fledged dynasty seeing as the core (Duncan, Ginobili, Parker) isn't going anywhere for awhile. With a loss, they go down as huge chokers who gave up a lead and 2 shots in their house and still couldn't get the job done. -For the Pistons, with a win, they have to go down as one of the toughest championship teams ever, seeing as this would be the third time in a 7 game series they were down 3-2 and came back to win. A loss will have everyone questioning Sheed's defensive blunder in game 5 as well as whether or not Larry Brown's off the court stories were a distraction to a team trying to defend a championship. Guess we'll find out in a little over an hour.
The Czech Republic Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I don't think they'd be HUGE chokers. It'd be disappointing seeing as they're usually unstoppable at home, but after the ALCS it's hard to call the Pistons beating the Spurs a HUGE choke.
Art Sandusky Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I'm hype as shit for this game. Go Pistons.
Darthtiki Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Pistons intro'd with Taker's theme sickness
Art Sandusky Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 And it already is in the second quarter.
Justice Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Detroit could stand to tighten up a bit, though.
bobobrazil1984 Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 jebus this is a ticky-tack called game by the refs. It was going good too before everything slowed to a crawl via fouls.
iliketurtles Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Spurs have to do something about Ben. He just fucking owned them 3 straight times. Like, bad.
razazteca Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Timmy ain't Dunkin anymore Nice foul on Ben.
Justice Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I'm still a bit worried about the Pistons, even though they seem to be playing a bit tighter and more precise than the Spurs. Their utter lack of three-point shooting for the better part of the series frightens me.
iliketurtles Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Duncan's playing like fucking shit. If he doesn't turn it on soon this game is over.
Justice Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Damn it, Manu just always looks like he's travelling to me. I just can't understand how he moves like that.
Brett Favre Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Rip Hamilton is a piece of shit. They need to give the ball to 'Sheed downlow and work from there.
razazteca Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I don't like the Spurs offense of everybody stand outside waiting for the 3 with Duncan as the only person in the paint. The guards need to be attacking the rim with layups!
razazteca Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Well it seems to be working now but anything can happen.
