Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2005 Robert Deniro as Travis Bickle, hands down. Also, Hopper as Booth was awesome, as was his turn in Apocalypse Now: "What are they gonna say about him? What are they gonna say? That he was a kind man? That he was a wise man? That he had plans? That he had wisdom? Bullshit man!"

Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 If we're mentioning great Dennis Hopper characters, I have to give it up to Lefty from TCM 2. God, that movie is awesome. The only reason I like it less than TCM is you can't appreciate it without TCM, and of course, TCM was first. I'm mentioning the entire chainsaw clan. Leatherface is iconic and untouchable. Having said that, Choptop is the best.

Just John 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 Clarence Boddicker. Too much greatness to even begin listing it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Bitches leave." On the subject of great Dennis Hopper characters, I loved him in Speed. "If I drop this stick, they pick your friend up with a sponge. Are you ready to die, friend?" "Yeah, I wish I had some loftier purpose, but in the end, it's just the money I'm afraid." And I also nominate Danny Kaffee from "A Few Good Men" and Sgt. Hartman from "Full Metal Jacket."
