Dreamer is so corporate he either does not realize, or knows and is hiding it to save his ass, that Hardcore Homecoming represents what ECW was about much more than ONS. Hardcore Homecoming is an FU to the big corporate promotion, who is ruining the legacy of ECW by turning it into some invasion crap angle. Fuck you Tommy, you truly are nothing but a sell out bitch. Not because you are in WWE, but because you are putting aside what you preached just to move up the corporate ladder. Dreamer's mouth wasn't moving. And I watched 5 minutes after that and I don't hear any edits. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dreamer said "Fuck yourself" to Bischoff. I watched the live feed. An ECW event competing with Survivor Series? I like ECW being back and even *I* think that would be a bad idea for WWE. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> FYI, there's more than one Sunday in November. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> BUUUT...still having another PPV the same month as their MAJOR PPV of that month would hurt the MAJOR PPV. It truly gave me hope that they are doing the right thing in this deal and will be as close as ECW as possible, just like Heyman said throughout the show. A half shoot/half work taped interview by Eric Bischoff was played to begin the show saying ECW was never a true competitor to WCW or WWE because ECW was too small in scale. Paul Heyman had a great rebuttle pointing out the true demises of both ECW and WCW including the facts that ECW lost 2 million dollars in calendar year 2000 and WCW lost 80 million dollars that same year and was cancelled off the networks that also owned WCW. Tommy said that if ECW was still in business, Byte This would be called Eat This or Blow Me...LOL! Paul buried Eric Bischoff and WWE writer, Brian Gerwirtz for their half shoot/half work promos. Tommy and Paul hyped ECW ONE NIGHT STAND and promised surprises at the PPV. Tommy said he was partying all night with Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten and slept in a van. RVD will have an unscripted live shoot promo on the PPV. Bubba Ray Dudley (who shares my birthday...we will both be 34 on July 14...send gifts to WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT) called in and hyped the PPV and Paul called The Dudley Boyz the greatest tag team of all time with 18 World Titles and Bubba said he is happy being called one of the greatest teams ever along with The Rock N' Roll Express and The Road Warriors. Bubba and Tommy said the pop live in St' Louis did not translate well on TV. Bubba also partied all night with Team Extreme and had not been to sleep either. Balls drank 18 shots of Tequila before ordering for everybody else. Bubba said he drove 250 miles with The Sandman who had been drunk for days. Bubba and Tommy promised to beat each others fat asses on Sunday out of mutual respect and love. I am getting goosebumps just thinking about this weekend and I haven't slept either because I have been up all night studying ECW DVDs so I will not be rusty this weekend...must drink much more espresso before driving to business lunch today...mmmmm...lunch. A fan asked what Tommy and Paul thought of Shane Douglas' and Terry Funk's negative comments about WWE owned ECW ONE NIGHT STAND. Paul was gracious and Tommy buried Hardcore Homecoming. In the spirit of ECW and the hopes of everybody (Shane, Funk, Raven, Lynn, Tod Gordon, Paul, Tommy, myself, etc.) working together at a later date when it may be politically possible, why not keep a lid on the negativity? Paul reads more ECW fan e-mail. Paul and Tommy both say they have no idea what the future of WWE owned ECW is and they just want to have a great show on Sunday. Paul and Tommy mentioned all of the ECW alumni working hurt Sunday (I am going to be one of them if I don't sleep between now and Sunday and try and drive from Philly to Manhattan) and they again promised many, many surprises. For the record, just like my days in ECW, I have no idea what the format is for Sunday and will just show up full of caffeine and go f'n crazy on the air until I lose my voice. To me, it's special because it was the PPV where Taz made one of his last ECW appearances ans also because it was the PPV where Jerry Lynn won the ECW Heavyweight title. I don't remember exactly, but weren't the buyrates actually decent-good for both shows? About New Jack, while I occasionally liked seeing him come out and fight for 5-10 minutes with his song playing the ENTIRE time, it won't be a huge loss not having him there to me.
