AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 Doesn't this seem like the end of their feud...is there any way HHH could be moved to Smackdown. It was totally revitalize both shows. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not happening. WWE is stripping Smackdown like a fancy car in a bad neighborhood, because UPN is planning to dump it anyway. They have no interest in revitalizing it.
krease 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 So what's going to happen now? Will HHH demand another title shot? I think it's a given that everyone assumes Dave will be drafted to Smackdown. This week's the last draft week, right? Anybody want to give a revised prediction now that Vengeance is over?

Guest *KNK* Report post Posted June 27, 2005 My thoughts on tonight's show The Stage was one of the best stages yet. Very simple yet creative and not over the top. Loved the card effect. The opener was very interesting to see the crowd basically with mixed reactions and then just outright jeering Benjamin. Cheap finish hindered a okay mid-card match. the woman's match featured a very attractive looking Victoria in the Xena garb. The match was what you expect from a Hemme match and it was short. Thankfully the right woman went over. The Edge/Kane match wasn't very intriuging to begin with it and it felt patchy and then came the Snitskyference and the hopefully blow-off with Kane taking out Edge, but he still needs to take out Lita, so it's not over. ... Shawn Michaels Vs Kurt Angle. They had a very well received match @ Mania that was supported by a active crowd while this crowd was then motivated to join in. The match in my opinion, just felt flat. I'm not sure exactly how people can percieved this to be anything more then *** stars because It wasn't. It had a great hot finish but thats to be expected. The work building to it just felt like it was done to build time to the finish. It wasn't horrible by any means but not even close to the MOTY reviews it's wrongly getting. If you seen one HBK or Angle match...you saw this match. The Viscera/Lillian segment with the Godfather was amusing and cute and it showcased Lillian's voice. The crowd hardly seemed into Godfather. Hopefully this ended the Viscera/Lillian storyline but I suspect it hasnt The triple threat match woke the crowd up as Cena was soundly over. It was the formulaic TT match that borrowed a TNA XDivision spot to appear fresh. It wasn't horrible but it certaintly didn't make Cena look like the top of the mountain for Raw. The Hell in A Cell. This match I had low expecations for because of the last two HIAC's involving HHH. However they completely blew away my low expecations and delivered a quality bloodfilled brawl that it promised. It wasn't lay around athon that last year was or the boring offering they gave us in 2003 with Nash. Batista looked like gold here as he took EVERYTHING from Triple H and gave it right back to him. All in all, a ok ppv saved late in the show by a really hot crowd and a horrific bloody brawl
slimm44 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 Even though all the titles were retained, sounds like a decent show. Good to see a change of things and the HHHell in a cell streak is over. Still confused through the whole who will be drafted. Maybe Edge will want his title shot, then move to Smackdown. Or he will be the transitional champ and give it to Triple H

MNM w/Melina to RAW since they're the only exciting tag team in the whole company. HHH will piss and moan that he wanted another shot at Batista, but since there's still a "World" Title on RAW, he'll settle for taking Cena's belt. A match will get set up for Summer Slam, and HHH will have reign 11 there, while Batista probably drops his version of the belt to JBL so we're right back where we started the year with, only with the two guys I hate most switching their belt buckles. Guest QUP2CME Report post Posted June 27, 2005 There is NO WAY HHH is moving to SD!. Think about it he reckons Raw is the Big Leagues, SD's two biggest stars Cena and Angle have jumped to Raw. Benoit V HHH has been done to death. As has HHH V Orton (although I do think they f*cked that angle up). There is nothing appealing about sending HHH to SD!, plus it'll mean that both world titles will remain on Raw. Dave~! is heading to the B-show. About the PPV I get it for free but missed most of the show. I tuned in just as the Angle/HBK match was getting started. Very slow paced, suplex fest. No big bumps. Disappointing match overall. The SCM that one looked really bad. looked like it connected Angle's chest not face. The 3-way was entertaining but too short. The finish really came out of nowhere. Cena is easily the most over guy on the show, but the crowd as a whole was disappointing. Didn't watch the Hell In A Cell, but I did see Dave come out in the white gear. Reminded me of Booker T for some strange reason. Anyways that where I tuned out.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 If WWE REALLY wanted to sell the brutality of the Hell in a Cell match, they'd have Triple H NOT appear tomorrow night, and maybe a brief Batista appearance on Raw. RedJed 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 Overall it was a strong show with a few low points . I dont agree with any real strong rating given to Benjamin-Carlito, I just wasnt feeling it but the finish was good. Shelton needs to be off to SD. Womens match was ok. Kane-Edge was better than it had any right to be at *** 1/2. From that point on, all of the other last 3 matches were at least **** with the HIAC surprising me as being better than HBK-Angle even, which I really didnt think was as good as Mania 21 match but still just slightly below it. The Vis segment was awful bad with Lilian signing, etc. Ended up funny though and how the hell did Lilian really cry on cue? That should have been saved for Raw. Seemed like HHH-Batista was trying to work a "better" garbage style match to a shot at the ECW show with the main event. It worked on most levels though and was the right move to make with Batista retaining. Cena was either carried bigtime by Jericho/Christian or else actually can work a really solid ME style match without even blood, gimmicks, etc. Good show overall, we've been lucky lately and had solid TNA and WWE ppvs (and of course ECW ppv) the last few months. They finally seem worth it consistently.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 The PPV was fairly good tonight, though the whole Viscera/Lillian/GF segment killed the crowd. I think that is instinctively why I liked the ECW PPV better than this. There was no time to be bored. There wasn't a whole lot of wasted time with pointless things on that PPV (even the JBL/Angle speeches had a point)....it got you on a high and kept you there. HHH/Batista is over and done with. There is absolutely nowhere to go with this and frankly the way HHH has jobbed out of late it's hard to just put him vs. Cena for the WWE title right off the bat. Dare I say HHH of all people needs some enhancement wins to get back some cred? That said this match tonight may have finally cemented Batista, even if it took the 3rd time. It was certainly Dave's best match to date. I think he'll head over to Smackdown now, where I figure he'll face JBL in a unification type match (where Batista has to win, they can't have the nothing "Smackdown title" beat the World champ). I dunno who the other guys would be though, maybe Jericho or Shelton from Raw but I have no idea who from SMDN could go without wrecking the show even more. I'm talking Eddie or Rey being traded. Guest *KNK* Report post Posted June 27, 2005 There is literally nothing left for Shawn on Raw. It's funny that Raw has like 5 guys that realistically should be sent to SD Batista HBK Benjamin Jericho Christian and SD doesnt really seem to have equal big names save for TBS. They should draft Batista and Jericho, then Teddy in one last fuck you to Angle makes a trade that brings Shawn over to SD (preventing angle of his rubber match). The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 Not a bad show, not the amazing show Meltzer said it was. Carlito-Benjamin was pretty poor. Benjamin continues to not be utilized properly, and Carlito defines "baggage". Hemme-Victoria was fried dog shit. Kane-Edge was better than Backlash 2004, but nothing spectacular. Angle-Michaels was very good. Very good. Some stuff was a bit awkward and they didn't bust out too many cool moves, but hey, I'll take it. Not better than their WM match, and NOT better than Rey/Eddie, though. Christian-Y2J-Cena was a solid match. I bought several of the nearfalls (mainly the ones with Christian). I want to see a singles match involving Cena and either of the two men at Summerslam. Batista-HHH was good. Hopefully the feud is over. Not one of the best Hell in the Cells, but easily Batista's best singles match. There were a few cool spots, but nothing shocking. Probably better than last month's okay ECW ONS, and easily better than Backlash. A billion-zillion times better than Vengeance 2004: Orton and Edge Borefest. Guest MrTrick Report post Posted June 27, 2005 This seems like as good a place as any for my first post. I went to the ppv tonight and to the "press conference" they had this past Tuesday. Each had their highs and lows. The ppv like most WWE events was fun live. The crowd really hated the Heart Throbs. They couldn't do anything to win the crowd which was evident by the loud Rosey chants. Carlito got booed when his music hit, but by the end of the match the crowd was going back and forth with both Shelton and Carlito chants and Shelton sucks and Carlito sucks chants. Overall a decent match that the crowd bought it to. Next up was Victoria and Christy. Both got booed. The crowd hated this match and cheered Victoria when she pinned Christy. Garbage match. Kane and Edge was the third match. As said it was better than it had any right to be. The best part of the match was the crowd chants. The was a "She's a crack whore", "STD", and "She has herpes" chants all directed at Lita. The interference improved the match, but everyone was chanting for Matt and of course there's no chance in hell he was going to show up. Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels was the match I was looking forward to the most and was extremely let down by it. Nowhere near their Wrestlemania match and unless this is just part 2 of a series of matches it's an extreme let down. Outside of the suplex on to the table the crowd was pretty dead from this one even with the pick up at the end. The Viscera/Lillian thing was nearly booed out of the building. The only saving grace was the Godfather and even that got old by the end of it. The triple threat was good. The crowd was heavily behind Cena, but Christian got his chants too. Nothing for Jericho which is a shame. The Hell in a Cell was good and came off awesome live. Some nice spots in there including the spinebuster on the steel steps. Overall, a fun event live even with the few hiccups. The set was awesome and the cards on the top of the set would change to display the match. The building was packed with only about 50% of the upper deck tarped off. The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 Oh yeah, the set pissed me off a bit. I mean, it was cool and all, but this was VENGEANCE. There could have been a giant eyeball with entrails raining cow's blood and shit. We ended up getting Celebrity Poker. And Big Vis and Lillian's deal was absolutely traumatizing. Godfather should never be brought back for anything ever again, unless it's- a) A UFC crossover where Kama Mustafa returns as the supreme fighting machine b) A continuation of that Booker T-Undertaker voodoo storyline that includes Papa Shango c) Because Charles Wright is homeless and needs money

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 Fun crowd, but VERY full of marks. When even the markish-smark stuff like Bret and FUCKING MATT HARDY CHANTS are shrugged off by the crowd, you know you're not going to be able to get anything out of the people. In vain, during that god-awful promo/song by Lillian I tried to get a "We Want Wrestling" chant going, and they wouldn't even listen to me then. Show was predictable, but fun. I enjoyed Angle VS HBK the best although the thing wasn't even in shouting distance of the WM21 fight. I have no pictures to share because my best camera is broken and, let's face it folks, this wasn't Wrestlemania.
Guest Ransome Report post Posted June 27, 2005 Average show. The last three matches really saved it. What exactly is the moral of the Vis-Lillian saga? I hope it, at least, saved us from seeing another godawful WWE wedding. The abundance of boos and 'Shelton Sucks' chants directed at Shelton Benjamin shows that WWE has really gone entirely the wrong way about building him up. He has a lot of potential, but it's not going to be reached with this whole 'He's so athletic' persona.

After dealing with mostly idiot marks on other boards, I can gather that they don't have the intelligence to like someone unless 1 - it's trendy to do so, 2 - the guy has promo time every week, or 3 - it's someone they marked out for earlier in their wrestling fandom. If Benjamin started rapping, or calling everyone something like "sucka", he'd be more over in a couple of months, although I'd hate that. It's like the dumber they make a character/angle, the more the marks like it.
