Potential MLB trade. It was apparently almost a reality and is now on hold, but still possible...

Orioles get:

Eric Reed (AA OF)

Juan Encarnacion

AJ Burnett

Marlins get:

Either Daniel Cabrera or Hayden Penn

Larry Bigbie

Jorge Julio

Not sure what to make of it.

Id be fine with them losing Penn and Julio..but Bigbie..not so much.

And while Im still high on Cabrera, I dont think I would miss him falling aprart the 2nd time through the lineup almost on cue..

Bigbie just hit another HR, his 4th this month since coming off the DL.

He's got a lot of potential, but its never been able to be tapped because he's not been able to make it through a full season.

And I wish the Os could deal Ponson, but no one is going to be stupid enough to fall for that one again.

Great game for the Mets tonight. Zambrano had another terrific start and actually got some offensive support this time. Also, Beltran had his first good night offensively in a while. A double, a triple, and his two outs were very well hit balls that would have been extra bases in almost any other park.

Graves absolutely sucks, though. If the Mets thought he was the answer to their bullpen problems, they're sadly mistaken.

I'd rather see Cabrera traded over Penn. Penn just seems to have it together more thant Cabrera which means even more when you consider that he is younger than him and has less experience. If you trade either Cabrera or Penn, you are risking giving up a potentially good young pitcher, but I would rather see Penn stay.

Agreed on Bigbie. If they substitute Jay Gibbons for Bigbie it is a little better and really not much worse for the Marlins. They would still get the left handed outfielder they are looking for.

I don't know about the deal on a whole though. They need to be sure they can lock of Burnett up lock term before doing anything.

Nice guy, but he was a one-season-wonder for the Cubs. Not worthy of being kept on the roster.

In other Cubs related news, Wood struck out nine in six innings of work, giving up only a solo homerun to Bill Hall (who seems to always kill the Cubs).

Yeah Bill Hall really does a number on us. Also, half his name is the letter L.

Bullpen blew the win for Wood, it's 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth.

EDIT: and Burnitz gets home on a Hollandsworth sac fly to win their fourth in a row. w00t.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers pitcher Kenny Rogers shoved two cameramen Wednesday, sending one to the hospital in a videotaped tirade that included throwing a camera to the ground and threatening to break others.

Rogers, who missed his last start for the struggling Rangers with a broken pinky caused by another outburst earlier this month, erupted at the cameramen as they filmed him walking to the field for pregame stretching before Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels.

The 40-year-old left-hander shoved the first cameraman, who was shooting video of Rogers, telling him: "I told you to get those cameras out of my face."

Rogers then approached a second cameraman. He wrestled the camera from Larry Rodriguez of Dallas-Fort Worth television station KDFW, threw it to the ground and kicked it.

The 6 foot 1, 210-pound pitcher saw two other cameramen who were recording from the Rangers' dugout and walked toward them. He did not make contact with the men, who were backing away.

"I'll break every ... one of them," Rogers said before he was escorted to the clubhouse by catcher Rod Barajas.

The Rangers sent Rogers home about an hour later.

KDFW news director Maria Barrs said paramedics took Rodriguez to an Arlington hospital late Wednesday to be checked out.

"He does have quite a bit of pain, in his shoulder and his arm and his leg," Barrs said.

Rangers manager Buck Showalter, who did not witness the events, said the said the team will investigate.

"It's not something we'll take lightly," Showalter said. "When I have all the facts, I'll deal with it."

Showalter added: "One person was frustrated -- frustrated at not being able to win."

Texas lost eight of nine entering Wednesday night.

"I think it demonstrated an appalling lack of control," Barrs said. "The team doing poorly is no excuse for assaulting a guy who's just doing his job," Barrs said.

A message left with Arlington police was not immediately returned Wednesday evening.

"What Kenny did was wrong and we won't condone it," Rangers owner Tom Hicks said. "It will be handled internally."

Rogers missed his turn Tuesday night against the Angels because of a small broken bone in his right pinkie. Rogers was hurt after he came out of a game against Washington on June 17. Video clips showed him knocking multiple coolers to the ground, then looking at his right hand.

Rogers has refused to talk to reporters all season, and on Tuesday night ordered television cameras turned off around him. He has boycotted most media since a report before spring training that he threatened to retire if he wasn't given a contract extension.

Hicks said he's aware that Rogers has a temper.

"Kenny has had a short fuse dealing with the media," said Hicks. "I've heard stories about what may or may not have happened. He has issues. It's directed at the media and I don't know why."

uh oh

Andruw Jones hits homerun #25 to break a 4-4 tie in the Top of the 13th. Now if the pitching can just hold the lead.

Thank god that rumored "Andruw Jones for Kevin Brown" trade never happened.

5-5. Runners on 1st and 2nd, 2 outs. Damn you Lo Duca.

All we have left on the bench is the other 4 starters.

Anyone know why the Brewers-Cubs game, with Wood and Sheets pitching, wasnt televised today?

The schedules are set up long before the pitching matchups are ever announced. It was only announced a few days ago that Wood would be going today.
