Actually, Burny scored from second on a basehit from Holly.

Yeah I realized that when I saw the clip. I was listening to Bob Uecker do the game and he made it sound like Burnitz got home on a sac fly.

As for why FSN Milwaukee didn't have the game, I have no idea. I thought maybe channel 24 would have the game, but lo and behold the game wasn't televised at all. Weird. You'd think these days that every game would be carried.

Hey check it out, the bullpen fucked up another close game for the Cubs. Granted, Maddux was no great shakes today, but the game was still in reach with the wind blowing out. Now they're down 10-5 to the Brewers. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to send Mike Remlinger up to face a lefty, but they did.

Yankees released Mike Stanton and Paul Quantrill

The Dodgers should take a flyer on Paul Quantrill, because he can't possibly be worse than Duaner Sanchez, and he pitched well in LA.

Beltran stole a base, and then another.  OMG

So, that brings his grand total to...three. Huh.

Anyway, good game for the Mets. Pedro threw another gem, and the bullpen was unusually dependable for once. Woulda been nice to take advantage of some more of those RISP situations, but oh well. Win's a win.

No one, and I mean no one is going to trade for 2 old relievers that have pitched horribly this season.

And fined $50k, if I remember correctly.

A stiff punishment to be sure, but deserved. Anyone stupid enough to attack two cameramen while being filmed deserves whatever they get.

Phillies place Jim Thome on the 15 day DL, and call up Ryan Howard from AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Howard has beaten the living crap out of the ball in AAA, and I hope he makes the most of this opportunity.

Yea what the hell was he thinking? Have we not learned anything from Dennis Rodman?

not that I care too much, I still hate Rogers for nearly blowing the 96 world series for the yankees with his horrible "performance" in game 4.

Then again, was it not Rogers who also walked in the winning run for the braves in the 99 NLCS while pitching for the Mets? Or maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

It was.

What Rogers did was wrong no doubt, and he deserves the suspension and fine greatly...BUT...when I heard that cameraman that was interviewed on ESPN last night it was blatantly obvious that he had it coming to him and he was milking the situation for everything it's worth.

Mets take advantage of two errors in a row from Lowell and score three runs, retaking the lead and bringing the game to 5-3 in the bottom of the 5th.

Burnett's completely lost his composure. They're taking him out with one out, bases loaded.

John Smoltz pitches another great game, Andruw Jones with another home run and Kelly Johnson is starting to come into his own.

I love this team

Bobby Cox might be the best regular season manager of all time.

Johnson is a NL league pitcher and maybe the Yankees should look into trading him.
