Speaking of anime, ADV is going to release the Xenosaga anime in the US. So instead of just watching Xenosaga...and occasionally pressing a button on a controller, now you can just watch Xenosaga, occasionally pressing a button a DVD remote.

At least this time you won't be paying $50 a disc.

So I'm well on my way of beating Marvel Ultimate Alliance with my friend and looking for some more coop PS2 games. I've got The Red Star next on my list but what else is there? The Contra games any good?

I wouldn't put it past them to put out some expensive collector's set in c-note territory. Like maybe with a KOS-MOS blow up doll.

Lots of people like Shattered Soldier, but it's hella hard, pattern-memorization material. So whether you'll dig depends on your tastes/patience.

Neo Contra is much easier, and the views shift all over the place unlike Shattered Soldier. Neo Contra feels more like Red Star, so if you know you like that give it a short. It's short and easy for a Contra, but it's darn cheap as well so it's all good.

MK Shaolin Monks is a blast on co-op, and it's featured as part of the Gamestop/EB Game Days sale. I think it's still going on, so you should be able to get a copy for 10 bucks.

While it's only 1 player, I'd also recommend God Hand. Introduce it to a friend by showing them a bit of the game, taking turns with the controller, and screwing around with different moves and combos.

The Capcom Classics Collections have a good bit of 2 player content on them. The first one features the awesome Forgotten Worlds and Final Fight.

X-Men Legends is a pretty fun game, and used you can pick it up fairly cheaply.

He likely knows of it if he digs Ultimate Alliance, but that reminds me--I got a good rental out of Justice League Heroes, a decent clone of the XML games.

Unrelated:

Oh, and I always thought Robo's theme (Chrono Trigger) sounded familar for some reason... http://rickrobo.ytmnd.com/

Just so long as you don't mind games that are nut-punchingly hard.

Seriously, I'm loving it, but it's so goddamned hard. On Stage 7 right now. Stages 4-6 were getting progressively easier, giving me false confidence that I was getting better, and it wasn't as hard as I originally thought. Then....POW! Seven comes around and fucking makes me it's bitch.

Someone help me out on this one. The commercial for that game, The Darkness... what's the name of that song during it that starts out with "This is... evolution". I know that's not the name of the song, but I don't know anything else about it.

Compared to many of the best action games, DMC3 and Ninja Gaiden, it's not bad at all. Plus the adjustable difficulty is quite welcome.

Man the first time I heard Robo's Theme, I had to sing "Never Gonna Give You Up". To this day, I'm convinced that it couldn't be coincidental.

So I just got a DS a little under a month ago and was wondering if anyone else here who has it can suggest some games for me to get? I want to be kept busy on my 2 hour daily commute to school and 2 hour commute back when the semester starts. Lately I've just been stocking on games, since they are pretty cheap and I also got a bunch for free.

I already have Mario Bros, Mario Hoops, Castlevania POR, FF 3, Trauma Center, Metroid, Resident Evil, Kirby, Star Wars Ep 3, Elite Beat Agents, Yoshi Story, Pokemon Pearl and some Sonic game.

The song is Marilyn Manson's "Cruci-Fiction In Space" from the Holy Wood album.

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow is better than Portrait, IMO.

Mega Man ZX is very good, although ZX Advent is right around the corner and has a superior map system.

Phoenix Wright is an adventure/text game that's really entertaining (albeit linear and simple), and Dragon Quest Rocket Slime is a solid Zelda-ish title.

The Lego Star Wars games are can be good time wasters but they aren't as good as the console and PC versions and the camera can be really wonky but they are worth the $15 or so you can pick them up for.

Thanks guys.

I have always stayed away from Star Wars Lego games but 15 bucks? Why not. I love Star Wars.

Also, Portrait Of Ruin is pretty damn good. My only complaint is the repetitive level designs. I kinda regret beating it so quickly though, but then again, I'll get my fix again with Dawn Of Sorrow.

I can see myself getting all those games to be honest so I really appreciate it.

Phoenix Wright 1 or 2?

Phoenix Wright 1 or 2?

I've only played 1. The 2nd one has some questionable innovations, mainly the health bar/psych-lock that is designed to make the game more challenging. I've heard overall it isn't drastic.

But you can get PW1 for 20 bucks, so I'd start with that.

*Resident PW mark*

PW1 is quite possibly my favourite game of all time, everything about the game is perfect. The storylines are very involving and well written, the character design is fantastic and the soundtrack is imense.

PW2 is almost as good as the 1st one, but not quite. In retrospect, its really not as good. The cases aren't as good and in 2 of the 4, there just annoying. The characters are not as good, but the soundtrack is very good. As with what Andrew said, the "psych-lock" function is very strange if a nice addition. I'm still not keen on the idea, but I'm planning on playing through the game again so I will resereve judgement just yet. Having said that, I really liked the health bar idea, IMO it was better than the 5 explanation marks you have in the first game.

And if your looking for a game that will consume a lot of your time, I'd give Hotel Dusk a go, although it's HEAVLY text based. And if you're into fun card games, you could give Capcom vs SNK card fighters a go.

Oh, and Age of Empires isn't too bad either.

Does anyone know where online you're able to get cheap/reasonably priced Hori game stick's (or other/ better quality gaming stick's) for the gamecube?

Something like this Hori one:

Yep. It actually works pretty well, too. It's more of a turn-based game where you use the stylus to move your units.
