BHK 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 A-Train wrestled one time on Raw, I believe. IIRC, he faced Benoit in a decent match, was injured shortly afterward, and released during a time when they were trimming the roster. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A-Train actually wrestled Jericho on Raw last year, didn't he? Now that I think about it, Jericho vs. Train sounds right instead of Benoit. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From cawthon's site: WWE (Smackdown!) @ Utica, NY - Memorial Auditorium - June 30, 2003 The Acolytes & Spanky (w/ Zach Gowen) defeated Nunzio, Johnny Stamboli, & Chuck Palumbo Charlie Hass & Shelton Benjamin defeated A-Train & Sean O'Haire and Chris Benoit & Rhyno in an elimination match; Benoit forced Albert to submit to the Crippler Crossface; Benoit was pinned after Rhyno accidentally hit the Gore on his partner. I didn't find any A-Train results from 2004 at all, and that's the last 2003 result.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 I saw A-Train at a house show the night after WrestleMania XX. He did a job to Hardcore Holly.
BHK 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Thanks Erine, I didn't notice that he started going by ALbert again once he was drafted. Again, from Cawthon: WWE @ Albany, NY - Pepsi Arena - June 7, 2004 Chris Jericho defeated Albert via submission with the Walls of Jericho at 2:44 That's the cloest there is. He had raw matches with the likes of Tajiri and Val Venis, but nothing more.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 No problem. I didn't notice he had been going by Albert again either. And now that I think about it, he did wrestle Chris Benoit at No Mercy 2003 and was involved in the opening ten man match at Survivor Series 2003.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 I wonder if its Midnight eastern or Midnight Pacific.. Oh..and who are they kidding? Keep in mind that all picks in the 2005 WWE Draft Lottery were drawn at RANDOM. RAW drew from the SmackDown! roster of Superstars. SmackDown! drew from the RAW roster of Superstars. I think WWE's official dictionary needs an update on the word random.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 OK, found a good website for info on this whole Brand Extension thing, and it mentions each of the picks for the Raw and Smackdown rosters. SO, for the hell of it, let's review: 2002: THE BEGINNING... Here was the start of the seperation. Everyone had to be eligable. Each had 30 picks, and Triple H and...I think it was either Jazz or Trish at the time weren't elegible due to being Undisputed and Women's champions respectively. It went Smackdown, then Raw for picks for the first 10, then after that all were chosen later. So.. 1: The Rock (SD), The Undertaker (Raw) 2: Kurt Angle (SD), The nWo (Raw, a group pick, so though one pick, counts as 3) 3: Chris Benoit (SD), Kane (Raw) 4: Hollywood Hulk Hogan (SD), Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam (Raw) 5: Tag Team Champions Billy and Chuck (SD, group Pick), Booker T (Raw) 6: Edge (SD), The Big Show (Raw) 7: Rikishi (SD), Bubba Ray Dudley (Raw) 8: D-Von Dudley (SD), Brock Lesnar (Raw) 9: Mark Henry (SD), European Champion William Regal (Raw) 10: Hardcore Champion Maven (SD), Lita (Raw) The rest of the picks were, in numerical order by brand: SD: Billy Kidman, Tajiri, Chris Jericho, Ivory, Albert, The Hurricane, Al Snow, Lance Storm, Diamond Dallas Page, Torrie Wilson, Scotty 2 Hotty, Stacy Kiebler, Christian, Test, Faarooq, Tazz, Hardcore Holly, Val Venis, & Perry Saturn, Raw: Bradshaw, Steven Richards, Matt Hardy, Raven, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Perfect, Spike Dudley, D-Lo Brown, Shawn Stasiak, Terri, Jacqueline, Goldust, Trish Stratus, Justin Credible, Big Bossman, Tommy Dreamer, Crash Holly, Molly Holly. ...looking back at that list is kinda sad, but anyway. Over the years, some trades and switches happened, but no major event of the switches. 2004: Draft Lottery 1 Tying in with the Mania XX theme of "Where it all begins again", McMahon announced the Draft Lottery, where the rosters would be mixed up. Here were the changes. 1) Rene Dupree to Smackdown, Shelton Benjamin to Raw 2) Mark Jindrak to Smackdown, Nidia to Raw 3) Triple H to Smackdown, Rhyno to Raw 4) Rob Van Dam to Smackdown, Tajiri to Raw 5) Theodore Long to Smackdown, Edge to Raw 6) Spike Dudley to Smackdown, Paul Heyman to Raw Then, the trades: Chuck Palumbo and A-Train to Raw for Rico and Jackie Gayda to Smackdown Triple H BACK to Raw for The Dudley Boyz and Booker T to Smackdown. Well, this was just an eh trade off looking back. Shelton and Edge made the most of it on Raw, Nidia is gone, as is Rhyno. RVD...well, he did OK, not great on Smackdown. Spike did OK on Smackdown. Dupree is floundering now. Palumbo and Train are gone...and well, you can figure the rest. Let's move on to... 2005: Draft Lottery 2, Electric Boogaloo Showing this this is probably yearly, let's review: 1: WWE Champion John Cena to Raw, Chris Benoit to Smackdown 2: Kurt Angle to Raw, Randy Orton to Smackdown 3: Carlito to Raw, Muhammad Hassan (w/Daivari) to Smackdown 4/5: The Big Show and Rob Van Dam to Raw, Christian and World Heavyweight Champion Batista to Smackdown. Without the trades, this is already the biggest of them all. Thus making the previous year seem eh. Now we just have to see what the trades will cause. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 OK...Chavo to Raw, I don't get. Apparently, Kenzo is still around...and is going to be debuting on Raw soon. So much for Eugene, unless they do a thing where his contract expired. Does this mean Danny becomes Damaja now? Hmm...Simon and Stevie to Smackdown...JBL's on Smackdown...Meanie returns? >=D ...and we trade one La Res member for another.
dubq 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 I didn't even recognize Dupree in the picture they have up on that page. Wierdo sleazy porno star moustache going one there...
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 I didn't even recognize Dupree in the picture they have up on that page. Wierdo sleazy porno star moustache going one there... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's had it a couple of weeks now on Velocity.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Oh, and here's a strange thought: Hiroko: WWE Women's Champion?
Slickster 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Jindrak started on RAW in 03, was traded to SD! in 04, then got traded back in 05. That's a first.
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Kenzo w/ Hiroko was traded for Candice... FACED!
Aero 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 Most of the trades seem pointless, but I guess they're good for a few. Regal can get away from Tajiri & Eugene, and the Bashams and La Rez now get to go on their own, unless they pair Dupree with Conway. Already mentioned, but why is Chavo on Raw? I'm disappointed that neither Haas or Benjamin switched, because that's a feud I actually want to see. So, can we assume that Grenier will stick to his French anti-US gimmick? I can't see him or Dupree doing anything else, but at least Conway can probably leave it behind since he's American.
Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 I guess Chavo could wrestle for the Intercontinental Title but why the hell didn't they just trade Haas to RAW and why the HELL did Long let Kenzo go to RAW for frigging Candice! Jindrak will start a tag team with Maven on RAW, mark my words. Simon Dean will either get another character or he'll just use the stupid sponser gimmick and go for the Cruiserweight Title. I don't know what they want to do with Stevie Richards though because Velocity is going down, maybe cruiserweight division? But is he even a lightweight? So I guess Doug Basham is going to pushed on Smackdown! which I think is better then on RAW because Doug fits more with the SD! guys. But what the heck does Grenier on SD!? Dupree will probably team up with Conway on RAW but Conway deserves the single push, not Grenier
Jericho2000Mark 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 May I ask what the point of this trade was? They basically swapped their weekend show rosters, and a lot of those guys will probably be fired anyway(or should be).
Silence 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2005 May I ask what the point of this trade was? They basically swapped their weekend show rosters, and a lot of those guys will probably be fired anyway(or should be). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Candice, Jindrak, Kenzo & Hiroko, and Grenier definitely should be on the chopping block. Also, if WWE never plans to turn Simon Dean back into Nova or give Richards a significant push due to being injury prone, those two may not serve anymore purpose on the WWE roster, either, especially with Velocity being cancelled this fall. Astro7x 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2005 Wow... just looking at the roster from the first draft. With the exception of all the talent picked in the initial 20, these are the people which were like the after thought and who is still here and who is gone.
