Hope no one else has posted something similar, but this was something I thought about as soon as HBK superkicked Hogan. Anyone else see the "Hogan is God" sign for the duration of the match? Now it is probably a coincidence, but I would love to find out that WWE planted the sign and have HBK reason that he accepts no false idols, and will prove Hogan is NOT God.

No Shelton for two staight weeks. It's a good thing he lost his title so he could be traded over to Smackdown or something.. oh wait.

I hope Shelton's not suddenly on WWE's release list, or jobbing on Heat, because it seems like he's been heavily depushed since losing the Intercontinental Championship to Carlito for no reason.

Chavo's new character is an insult to everyone's intelligence. "Denouncing my Spanish heritage" and basically acting like he's suddenly white (no pun intended) now. WTF?!

Shawn's heel turn was surprising to me, but the outcome of the whole Shawn/Hogan feud's going to be very predictable and boring. *cough cough* Hogan wins at Summerslam, does his silly cup to the ear shit for 10 minutes, blah blah blah *cough cough*

The Jericho/Cena promo was good, but it's sad to see Jericho still getting his ass handed to him by Cena even after 3 years of their feud on Smackdown in 2002. Has Jericho still not renewed his contract with WWE?

The Raw Diva Search segment was, as always, the worst part of the show tonight.

Doubt it. More then likely..that guy probaly thinks Hogan really is God. ;)

That show was poor but I'll let it pass because it was a holiday and good lord I did not see that heel turn coming. I also enjoyed the opening segment.

Things that bothered me were Dupree not dancing and, although JR did say this was Dupree's Raw debut since being traded from SmackDown!, they were implying he had never been on Raw before. They also didn't clarify the Edge situation that had been aluded to prior to the draft beginning - if he and Batista were seperated, his contract was void. Since he still carried the briefcase I guess it's safe to assume that has been forgotten and he is eligable for a shot against Cena / WWE champ now.

So.. HBK/Angle/Flair/HHH eh? Would it be Evolution II or Horsemen 2005? (2005 being the version number, not the year).

It was also slightly odd to see them starting a Cena/Jericho angle when you consider one was already in place.

All I can say about Raws ending is this:

Dancing Corgi approves.

Holy crap.....Fro is exactly right,  this is totally setting up the reformation of the 4 Horseman.  Angle/HBK/Flair/HHH all heels?  Even if you don't like the idea thats too good to pass up, thats the best formation of the horseman since the original.  And you have a strong face like Cena to battle them along with Hogan.

You may remember that I predicted that in another thread a few weeks ago, immediately after the Angle/HBK/HHH/Flair promo segment. Booyah.

When he was in the nWo, did he really do anything worth boo'ing?  I seem to remember his schtick in the group lasting a little over a month, and him rarely getting boo'ed.  Perhaps I am wrong though.

Stretching it...but...the beat down on Booker T to kick him out?

He did cut a promo that caused a guy to yell "Get to the point" so I guess that's sorta heelish. He also superkicked Booker T "right in the grill" (accoridng to T) then made fun of JR and Booker on commentary (during Booker T's kick based offense, Michaels went into JR mode, "Good God Booker get your own stuff! That's gimmick infringement!" or something along those lines).

He told the fans he wasn't going to wrestle for them, and he superkicked Booker T during a promo.

That's all I got.

edit: DrVenkman beat me to it.

Thanks for bringing up that commentary. I'd forgotten how funny it was.

Yeah, the heel turn saved what had been a truly horrific, mindboggling bad Raw. It was headed towards worst ever status....I just went out and watched fireworks during the Diva garbage. I refuse to watch it, I don't care, fuck it. Even if tits fell out, it's not worth it...there's actual porn for that stuff.

I think what made the Michaels heel turn so stunning was that in no way did I expect it to happen tonight of all times. On a blatantly filler Raw that will get no ratings due to the 4th. In fact it probably would have been better to do it next week when more people are watching.

Maybe they can bring back Brutus Beefcake to be Hogan's buddy again so Shawn can superkick him through the barbershop window?

By the way, Jericho desperately should have been traded to Smackdown. I cannot endure TWO pointless talk show segments with both him and Carlito. They need to have Jericho and Carlito feud over who gets to keep the interview segment and the other has to drop his.

Snitsky, I enjoy. Viscera, I enjoy (although I don't understand why we are susposed to feel bad for a guy who left his girlfriend for a bunch of hookers. Wait, this is the WWE, so nevermind.) Kerwin White though, I just don't like.

I liked the look Shawn had on his face after the superkick. It was like he almost regretted doing it, but he had to do it, so he did it. I'd rather this be a serious feud, as they can go into some deep issues, rather than a crotch-chopping generations clash.

I'm all for that, but for the love of God, please let's have a cocky HBK again. He is so stale as a face, and a heel character where he remains the same, only he fights the faces, just will not work.

He doesn't have to be full-blown DX HBK, he'd look pretty stupid like that if you ask me, but he needs to at least bring back his cocky side, as well as acting being totally heelish.

I don't want Christian-HBK turned heel only because of what he did tonight.

Cocky HBK will eventually get cheered, though. Especially against Hogan. Fans cheer a fun-loving HBK, so the heel version needs to be serious and focused. The promos will suck, but it meshes better with Hogan.

Shawn saying "And we're out!" was fantastic, btw. I enjoyed his promo tonight, the "i don't give a fuck, I'm over" promo.

I know this is a little off-topic. But, is this week's show another SuperShow, like last week, and if so, when are the SD! spoilers gonna be up?

Yes. Here are some early spoilers.

Hello, my baby!

Hello, my honey!

Hello, my ragtime gal!

Send me a kiss by wire.

Baby, my heart's on fire!

If you refuse me,

Honey, you lose me.

Then you'll be left alone.

Oh baby, telephone

And tell me I'm

Your own!

No, it isn't a super show. Sorry.

You can have the serious and focused meshed with cocky. I don't mean have him act like he used to, I doubt we'll ever see that again. He just needs to be obviously different than how he's been for the past few years. He needs an edge back, and he needs it now.

I think Hogan/HBK could come across like it truly means something, and could get over huge, but only if they do it just right. The match should be interesting with an active crowd, if not great.

I sense MJ coming back for this as well. Like someone suggested earlier, I could see him helping HBK beat Hogan.
