Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2005 Well, we blew a 6-0 lead. Where were you then? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because I knew you were going say something since your so sensitive when people talk negative about your team. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> People only talk negative about my team, so it gets tiresome. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't listen to all the haters. I let it get to me and I got far too irritated. You think all that is bad I had to watch the game on ESPN today and listen to Steve Phillips take shots at The Yanks all game long. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2005 Can I buy drugs from you? Because you must've been on something good if you took his remarks as shots. So you disagree that the Yankees problems aren't behind after this two-game set? Their starting rotation isn't still a mess? The bullpen isn't in shambles? The defense isn't still embarrassing? What? You know what else bothers me about these two games? Stations like ESPN acting as if we're being saved because the Yankees have won these two games. Jason Giambi hit three homers in two days! Call off the mass suicide!

Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted July 6, 2005 Really Bruiser, you keep harping on about them despite having NO connection whatsoever. You're not a fan, you're not even rooting for a team in the same league, so why is hating on the yankee's a habit for you? No one here denies the problems they have, we just don't feel the need to bring them up after wins. Seems a little, pointless.
Mik 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2005 Can't believe Beckett is fucking injured again. Oblique muscle. Same shit as last year. Blister, oblique... now all it will need is one more blister to completely mirror last season. He'll never get it together. I've defended and argued many times why Beckett is better than Willis, but I think it is becoming high time for me to eat my words.

I was simply saying Phillips wasn't taking shots at them. God forbid he not be won over by two great offensive days. Maybe he's looking at the bigger picture and knows the Yanks still have a ton of issues to work out before they can think about October. I don't harp on them. It's just these threads have degenerated over time into talking about nothing but Yankees baseball. If that's the case, then me responding to anything in the thread is probably going to be Yankees-related. And on that note, Derrek Lee left the game tonight with a shoulder injury. There, we talked about something other than the Yankees.

He will definitly 'get it together'...its not his choice to get hurt. Its frustrating and you can see it on his face after leaving tonights game. He'll be fine...how can you possibly give up on someone that quick? He might not be better than Dontrelle but he's still very talented and has a solid future...you should feel lucky to have both. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2005 Mik's point is that because of injuries, he won't ever be able to get it together. He's gone through a lot of injuries at an age where pitchers are usually their healthiest. He's reminding me a lot of Kerry Wood at this juncture.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2005 It's not that Phillips was wrong with his comments, but he appeared at least IMO to be taking glee in talking about all their problems. I agree you can't get excited over two games, but I am so sick of the sarcastic remarks and doom talk, just concentrate on the game Mr. commentator ok? I guess I may have been harsh on him to say that but he just pissed me off when I was trying to enjoy a rare Yankee game on tv. See what I mean about letting the hating get to you? It's weird, a Yankee fan will get ofended by these remarks, and non fans and haters say the Yanks are too liked by the media. Its a weird no-win situation. snuffbox 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2005 I can only wish that Milwaukee had a rotation where I could whine about having Beckett or Kerry Wood.... And why isnt TBS or WGN showing the Cubs-Braves game with Maddux on the mound?
Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted July 6, 2005 It's pretty obvious there's a bunch of Yankee fans here who like talking about the team, if the threads just us talking about them, why bother? Is it really worth the trouble to pick out anything remotely incorrect you see just for the sake of debate? I mean to you it's just "two great offensive days", but for us it's Randy coming back strong after a total bomb start, it's us not falling out of a game after blowing a big lead, it's Giambi finally hitting for power outside of one game here or there. I could come up with a list of 10 reasons to be optomistic based on these games, yet you don't touch on any of that. That's why it comes off as just being a hater. We could win 25-0 with Randy throwing a perfect game, and I'm sure your response would be about one of our problems that had no bearing on the game but is a good reason for us not to be happy. the max 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2005 Maybe we should just make "This Week in Baseball" and "This Week in Yankees Baseball" separate threads. In other news, the Red Sox have chased Young from the game after 2.1 and 7 ER. Manny has hit his third grand slam of the season, his 20th of his career. Pretty soon, teams might walk him with the bases chucked, like Showalter did to Bonds a few years back when he was still with the DBacks.

Kismet 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2005 A rare Yankee's game on TV? Do you work most days ESPN shows them? It's at least weekly. Sarcastic disbelief aside on that, the Tigers have stopped thier freefall after finally topping .500 tonight. Hopefully they can get a few wins strung together before the All-Star break. They have Bonderman going tomorrow, so I'm hoping for two in a row.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2005 Oh yeah, BOBBY ABREU. "OMG! All Star! What a year!" ABREU DOESNT FUCKING DO SHIT AFTER THE 7th INNING. HE IS AS WORTHLESS AS JIM THOME WAS LAST YEAR. NO CLUTCH HITS. NOTHING BUT DOG SHIT DOUBLE PLAY PUSSY SHIT! Fun facts about Bobby Abreu. In Close and Late situations this year (i.e. close games AFTER the 7th inning), he is hitting .282/.391/.513. Abreu has grounded into the amazing total of THREE double plays this year. One a month. Abreu is the best outfielder in baseball. If the team can not pitch, that is not his fault. The Phillies are at .500. Their failures are due to Thome's injury problems, and the team's inability to produce reliable pitching. Still, this team is only five games out of a wild card berth, and behind only two teams at that. If you think this season is over, you are a damed fool. And watch your language, because if I have an excuse to toss you for disparaging remarks about Abreu, I will.
