Fartsauce Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 This is usually my favourite part of the All Star break and this year i'm actually more excited about it. I may be in the minority but I actually like the format of one person per country. I'll be supporting Jason Bay although I don't think he's going to take it. I'm going to go with Teixeira or possibly Andruw Jones. Predictions?
Mik Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 I would find it rather hilarious if Hee Seop Choi wins.
King Kamala Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 I'm rooting for Big Papi, this year's competitors look really lackluster, I mean Hee Seop Choi is in the freaking contest.

The Czech Republic Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 Jason Bay Mark Teixiera Hee Seop Choi
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 Why is Hee Seop Choi in this? Is he a home run machine that I wasn't aware of?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 Didn't I tell you people the OaO tags were banned? Besides, we already have a thread for this. I merged the two topics.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 As for Hee Seop Choi, did any of you catch when he hit three home runs in a game? Yes, he IS a longball threat, boasting a .532 career slugging percentage in the minor leagues.
Vern Gagne Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 Dumbass Radke couldn't figure it out you throw Choi offspeed stuff.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 This thing seems to hold less appeal each year. I think it's because after a while, you've seen just about all you can and nothing is all that exciting anymore.
Vern Gagne Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 I've never gotten the appeal of the HR derby.

EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 AIM chat tonight. Check it out at "NMBBaseball."
Guest *KNK* Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 A city with legendary music history...they used Alter Bridge?
Matt Young Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 That Alter Bridge singer sounds worse than normal tonight. Why is that band playing at an MLB event?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 10 home runs. 517 feet. The world WILL recognize Bobby Abreu.
snuffbox Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 I've never gotten the appeal of the HR derby. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its fun to watch homeruns... would you enjoy a bunting or intentional-walk derby for next years ASG?
Matt Young Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) New single round record +2! 18 homers! Unfuckingbelievable! Too bad the derby doesn't count toward my fantasy team... EDIT: 19! Edited July 12, 2005 by Matt Young
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 This is completely insane. Abreu broke his bat hitting home runs.
Guest Fishyswa Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Damn. 22 HR's and still 2 outs left. They should just stop once he's done.
Guest Fishyswa Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Wow. I remember when I thought 15 was worth a holy shit.
Matt Young Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 24 homer runs for Abreu.... HOLY FUCK. Recognize.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Abreu proves me wrong. Hopefully more will give him the recognition he deserves. I feel bad for Jason Bay now.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Well, I'll be the first to congratulate Abreu, and I was totally wrong about how he'd do tonight. Now if he can carry it over to this week
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 24 homer runs for Abreu.... HOLY FUCK. Recognize. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Holy fuck indeed.
