Guest rawmvp Report post Posted July 22, 2005 I recently e-mailed a very well known wrestling guru (no, not Scott Keith) about what the WWE has in store for WM 22. I would give you the journalist's name, but he told me not to divulge this info to anyone else nor associate his name with the above information. What the hell, I'll break his first request, but not the second. I will, however, say that he's one of the following : Meltzer, Keller, Scherer. Here's his reply to my e-mail: Believe it or not, WWE is involving one of it's DVD's into a storyline that will peak at WM 22. As you probably know, WWE is releasing an Ultimate Warrior 2 disc-set, titled, "the self-destruction of the Ultimate Warrior." Well, that's not only a work, but it will play into an angle starting in the Fall that will culminate at WM 22. Originally, it was supposed to be Hogan v. Austin at Mania 22, but since Hogan and Austin are wary of what kind of match they will have (since both have major injury issues), Hogan proposed a Hogan/Ultimate Warrior vs. Austin/Rock tag team match at WM 22. Vince agreed, and has set the wheels in motion with a scathing and derisive DVD that will provoke the Warrior to return. Vince, btw, will be one of the main antagonists in the feud. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 I doubt it's true, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. How would pissing Jim Hellwig....err excuse me, Warrior....cause him to want to come to WWE to take part in an angle?

Guest rawmvp Report post Posted July 22, 2005 I think that it will tie into Vince's disdain for wrestling history and forgetting which wrestlers brought him to the dance. Perhaps the Warrior DVD will be a major example of that? This will prompt Hogan to mention guys like him paved the way for wrestlers like Rock and Austin. Rock and Austin object to that, find a common bond with Vince, and voila. Maybe it will involve the emergence of a corporate-like entity (Vince, Rock, Austin) ? I guess, that after Hogan is getting beaten in the ring, Warrior returns to save the day, and there's your main-event. Old school vs. new school.

Guest rawmvp Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Porter, you'd be surprised what a big WrestleMania payday will do to change your steadfast beliefs. Case in point: Ted Dibiase. Everyone has a price.

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Porter, you'd be surprised what a big WrestleMania payday will do to change your steadfast beliefs. Case in point: Ted Dibiase. Everyone has a price. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd normally agree, but I'll reserve my judgment til it actually happen, which it 99.99% won't. Hogan and Austin recognizes the possible payday involved in a singles dream match between the two of them. Any suspicions they may have between each other would be offset by that mere fact. They wouldn't allow it to be changed to a meaningless tag match involving a guy that hates WWE and Hogan.
Guest rawmvp Report post Posted July 22, 2005 I dunno, Porter I mean, Hogan couldn't even do a freakin leg drop until recently...and Austin's injuries are very serious, so maybe they both realize that they'll end up having a horrible one on one match? It doesn't really matter. They know they aren't going to be putting on a ***** classic. The appeal is JUST in them being face to face before coming to blows. Guest rawmvp Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Personally, I say screw the Warrior, and bring back Sting so he can wrestle Rock in a match that was supposed to happen at WM 21, per Meltzer. But hey, as long as the storyline is executed well, unlike the boring-ass Michaels-Hogan feud, then I won't have any complaints, really.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 I haven't believed a damn thing that Rawmvp has said since I first joined this site...AND THAT WAS TWO IN A HALF YEARS AGO! But quite honestly if this match is being planned there really no way it would happen. Hogan's and Warrior's ego's would collide and it'd be WCW all over again and we don't want that again now do we.....oh and its Walnut Creek, CA not Walnut, CA and that area code is 925 not 909! Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 With the egos involved (Hogan & Warrior specifically) there are an infinite number of ways for this match to fall through, provided there's any truth to the rumor at all, which i'm sure there isn't. Though the prospect of Hogan or Warrior saying one wrong word to the other and triggering some sort of geriatric shoot fight could prove entertaining. slabinskia 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 If you said they were planning hogan/piper vs rock/austin it would be somewhat believable.I watched the warriar shoot interview yesterday. There is no way this guy will wrestle again. He does not seem like he is all there but he said he would only come back if the payday was ridiculously high. RedJed 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 If you can't quote your source and if it's none of the major reliable reporters, then I think this is complete bullshit if you ask me. Sounds like an "internet journalist" from a two bit website putting some sort of lack of logic from a DVD to something else. If WWE were to bring in Warrior, they would not bury his ass, which sounds like what the DVD is all about. Hogan/Piper v. Rock/Austin - very possible though. Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 While I agree that it's bullshit that this is a "real" report, the idea of the proposed match isn't beyond the realm of possibility. I wouldn't be shocked for a second if they tried to set something like that up. I think it would make more sense if it was Hogan/Savage though, but we all know that one would never happen. Now Hogan/Piper vs. Austin/Rocky, that's more possible than anything else.
