Saying something doesn't make it so.

Iraq War/nation building (1 trillion dollars and counting)

Border Wall (Who knows how many billions)

I really, really, don't like people who call themselves conservatives when they support the biggest government policies in history.

Lets do nothing about the Mexico border because it costs too much money. Meanwhile, Americans are being kidnapped and killed by Mexicans while illegal aliens and potential terrorists continue to flow in unabated..sounds like a wonderful plan to me not to spend the money to fix a major problem.

As far as Iraq goes, I dont even feel like getting into that right now..

No terrorist worth his salt is going to come into this country via illegal border-crossing. Do you even think before you post this stuff or do you just mindlessly transcribe whatever Glenn Beck says?

Don't answer that.

I liked the part where I searched "Americans kidnapped by Mexicans" and got a shitload of Glenn Beck links. Perfect.

Given the fact he is the ONLY person in the media covering the kidnappings (about a month ago) and Mexican Military's push into Texas (Two months ago), it doesnt surprise me in the least.

Actually, I see fox news covered the Mexican Military part but surprise, they made it out to be that it wasn't really the mexican military dressed in mexican military uniforms..nah..dont believe it for a second that the completely uncorrupt mexican military wasn't protecting drug smugglers into texas..not one bit..

Given that most of these Mexicans are crossing into a state where grown men care deeply about high school football, kidnappings and killings can only be a positive.

Republicans wanting "smaller government" should be a well known myth by now. If the last eight years have shown us anything, it is that they yearn to spend just as much as the democrats if not more, but just on different things.

The Iraq War

"War on Terrorism"

Border Fence

Missle Defense system

War on Drugs(well to be fair most Dems support this atrocity too)

The list could go on. Republicans basically want to cut off social programs that help people(which in some cases maybe do need reform but not termination), and in turn use that money to give tax cuts to wealthy people and raise spending in defense spending.

That is not smaller government, it is just a difference in opinion on where the money should be spent.

The kidnappings are in California. Of course, thats probably even more reason to support it, right? Who would really shed a tear if California went back to Mexico?

I also like that he's up in arms about kidnappings of Americans...in Mexico. "11 San Diego residents kidnapped in Mexico!" Yes, building a big wall will keep people from getting kidnapped. When they're already on the other side of the wall.

Pre 2000, Republicans tried desperately to eliminate the Department of education with no success. I dont really understand what happened to make them decide "hey we need to spend 60 billion a year on education" other than the fact that everyone was crying "OMG AR KIDZ IZ STUPED!". So the government, doing what it does best, tried to solve the problem buy throwing money at it and created a bigger problem in the process (NCLB) like it always does. NCLB needs to be killed, but Obama's plan is to actually SPEND MORE to fix it (?!?)

Good work taking the controversial "kidnapping is bad" position while ignoring the idiotic implications of the "building a billions-dollar wall between Mexico and the U.S. will stop Americans already in Mexico from getting kidnapped" argument.

Last year, I let talk radio brainwash me into thinking Rex Grossman didn't suck. Good thing I don't regularly listen to any talk heavier than sports talk, I guess.

Talking bout Texas? If so, you are correct sir. There are public high schools out here with massive football stadiums bigger than most colleges have. It's a horrifying waste of time and money. I thought they took this shit seriously back in Tennessee, but I had no idea.

NCLB needs to be killed

Holy shit, I found something Marvin said which is actually true! I want my prize winnings in traveler's checks, k thnx.

True dat. I listened to NPR once, and I'm still reflexively quoting figures on the number of people killed in Iraq on any given day and telling lots of jokes about Lutherans.

I do agree that NCLB needs to be eliminated and doesn't work, but not because it is under-funded, yet because it is a fundamentally flawed programs that forces teachers to teach students to merely pass a standardized test which is a farce in the first place considering there isn't a single "standard" for education in America. Often times schools less then five miles apart are like night and day when it comes to funding, resources, technological materials etc....

Clinton's vast foreign policy experience:

Pressed in a CNN interview this week for specific examples of foreign policy experience that has prepared her for an international crisis, Clinton claimed that she "helped to bring peace" to Northern Ireland and negotiated with Macedonia to open up its border to refugees from Kosovo.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-exp...7,0,51719.story

The Macedonian government opened its border to refugees the day before Clinton arrived to meet with government leaders. And her mission to Bosnia was a one-day visit in which she was accompanied by performers Sheryl Crow and Sinbad, as well as her daughter, Chelsea, according to the commanding general who hosted her.

Hillary's whatever-sticks campaign now includes a charge that Obama can only win in Republican states. Of course, this yet another blatant lie. But, if it were true, a candidate who can win the states of the oppsotion party away from them is a GOOD THING.

As much as I support Obama, I'd like to be wary of the "Obama will be stronger against McCain, therefore he should be the Democratic nominee no matter what" camp, mostly because that's one of the things that led to the Party nominating John Kerry over some better candidates back in 2004.

...?

In Democratic field in 2004 was pretty terrible. Edwards wasn't ready yet, Dean couldn't stop sticking his foot in his mouth, and Clark was suffering from his "I would have been a Republican if they'd asked me to help with Iraq" image. Kerry forgot to mention he'd had his testicle surgically removed before he was nominate, so he won be default in a field of weaklings, so he had everyone fooled into thinking he was the same guy who LOL PWN3D William Weld back in 1996.

But don't you realize that if Obama can't win California or New York in a Democratic Primary then there's absolutely no way that he'll be able to win them in a general election?? Also, Hillary won Ohio which means she'll definitely be able to carry it against McCain! This is faultless, airtight logic.
