Epic Reine Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 This is inspired from the crowd chants of "This Match Sucks!" during the Conway/Venis match from Raw last week. What are some matches that the live crowd completley shitted on? For me, there were some pretty loud boos during the HHH/Steiner match from Royal Rumble '03.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude at WrestleMania IV. They got a "BOOORING" chant or two during that match.
Kahran Ramsus Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 The real famous one is Goldberg/Brock from Wrestlemania XX. Another really high profile match that comes to mind is Luger/Windham at Great American Bash 1991.
Just John Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell on Raw JBL vs. Undertaker at Summer Slam last year
CanadianChick Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 The HHH/Steiner one at No Way Out also got shat on, before it even started really. An obvious one is that Booker/Bagwell match before the Alliance.
Slickster Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Richards-Tomko, Unforgiven 2004. Reigns-Taker, No Way Out 2005.
Ced Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Masato Tanaka vs Doug Furnas, ECW Living Dangerously '98. It was a last second deal, but it was still a bad match as they both looked lost trying to work with each other so it was fairly justified.
Guest JMA Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Rocky Maivia vs. The Sultan, WrestleMania XIII.
cabbageboy Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 How about the Patterson and Brisco evening gown match? That one got a really bad reaction.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Jackie Gayda & Chris Harvard vs. Bradshaw & Trish Stratus
bob_barron Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 ROH fans didn't really like Jeff Hardy v. Krazy K v. Joey Matthews
Guest xSarahx Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Richards-Tomko, Unforgiven 2004. I was there. Hell, most people in the arena didn't even know it was an actual match until when the bell rang at the end. Later when I bought it on DVD, they must of muffled the crowd because 60% of the crowd was booing and chanting "boring" and "this match sucks". I don't know how it came off on PPV, but it totally killed the crowd for the whole night, save the Jericho/Christian ladder match.
Guest jm29195 Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Sadly, the 45 minute Benoit/Malenko match from Hog Wild 96- bloody bikers!
Just John Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Sadly, the 45 minute Benoit/Malenko match from Hog Wild 96- bloody bikers! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, hold on... First of all, the match was only like 28 minutes, but that's not really important. Secondly, the only noticeable boos were at the announcement of the second overtime. Yeah, they were kinda dead most of the match, but they didn't really shit on it. Their silence could also be attributed to the fact that neither guy was a clearly defined face or heel. Check their reactions to Harlem Heat/Steiners, Rey/Ultimo, and Eddie/Flair which were super hot. This is one of the worst cases of smarks blowing something way out of proportion. Watch the entire show, and you'll realize they were a really good crowd for 2/3 of the event.

A tribute to their incredible charisma I'm sure.

Just John Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Considering they didn't boo the shit out of Ice Train and loved Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio, I think the whole racist hick argument is invalid.
Mecha Mummy Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 ROH fans didn't really like Jeff Hardy v. Krazy K v. Joey Matthews <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Best understatement ever.

We all thought Tomko was going to go in the back and have a quick brawl, because it took Stevie a few minutes to come down. Then he showed up, and we assumed it was going to be a quick angle. Sucks for all of us it turned into a match. There sure were some nice boring chants though.
